This tranquil temple features beautifully landscaped gardens, seasonal flowers, and a peaceful cave filled with statues of Benzaiten. A visit to Hasedera offers a perfect blend of spirituality, history, and natural beauty.
Kōtoku-in Temple is home to the iconic Great Buddha (Daibutsu) of Kamakura—an awe-inspiring bronze statue standing over 11 meters tall. Dating back to the 13th century, this serene figure sits peacefully in the open air, symbolizing strength and tranquility. Visitors can even step inside the statue to glimpse its interior construction. A must-see for anyone exploring Kamakura’s rich cultural heritage.
Hōkoku-ji Temple, often called the “Bamboo Temple,” is a hidden gem in Kamakura known for its enchanting bamboo grove. This Zen temple offers a peaceful retreat with its forest of towering bamboo stalks and a charming teahouse where visitors can enjoy matcha while taking in the serene atmosphere. It’s the perfect stop for those seeking beauty, calm, and a taste of traditional Japanese aesthetics.
Tsurugaoka Hachimangū is Kamakura’s most important Shinto shrine, deeply connected to the city's samurai heritage. Founded by Minamoto no Yoritomo, the first shogun of Japan, the shrine stands at the heart of Kamakura and offers striking views from its grand staircase. Surrounded by cherry blossoms, lotus ponds, and historical significance, it’s a must-visit for anyone exploring Kamakura’s cultural and spiritual roots.

Hitomi was a wonderful guide for us on the early morning Kamakura tour, as she expertly guided us through all of the transportation (which included buses and trains), is incredibly knowledgeable about the temples and shrines we visited, and has a fun and lively personality that we all enjoyed. She also provided lunch recommendations for us after the tour in Kamakura, as well as other restaurant recommendations for the rest of our stay in Tokyo. I also really enjoyed the last two stops on the tour as those are a little different than the first two and I had not previously been to those sites when I had visited Japan the first time (30-plus years ago)!

Our tour guide, Hitomi, was very friendly and easy to connect with. I enjoyed the small group tour and was able to see beautiful temples and shrines, whilst listening to the history of each one through our knowledgeable guide. Excellent experience!
Great trip . Amazing experience with the best guide . Hana is so very knowledgeable and nice ! Totally recommend this tour !
Our trip to Kamakura was truly peaceful and memorable ,it is definitely a place one must visit when in Japan. The beautiful temples, serene atmosphere, and charm of the town made the experience very special. A big part of what made this trip so enjoyable was our guide, Hana. She was incredibly friendly, approachable, and without a doubt the best guide we met during our Japan tour. It was so easy to connect and gel with her, which made the experience even more comfortable and enjoyable. Hana was very knowledgeable about the history and places we visited, and she explained everything with great enthusiasm and patience. The entire trip felt smooth, well-organized, and effortless because of her guidance. We are truly grateful for such a wonderful experience and would highly recommend both Kamakura and Hana to anyone planning a visit!
Hana was awesome! I came in with a lot of Japan knowledge already, and a tight schedule, so I asked her to do a faster or a 'lite' tour - she delivered perfectly, and we hit all the locations by the time I needed to leave. It was great to hear her opinions about the places, and learn some of the historical highlights.
Yui, our tour guide, was spectacular!! She was incredibly knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor that made history fun! We coordinated everything and keep communication since the day before of the tour. We learned so much about Kamakura and also she took a lot of photos for us. She also was very attentive and helpful, going above and beyond to do our experience excellent. Our day couldn’t go any better. Highly recommended!!!
Amazing Experience!!!! Santa was an amazing guide!!!!!
We had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and very friendly. I would recommend to anyone.
We absolutely loved this tour and our guide Hana made it extra fabulous ! She navigated the trains with ease, kept the tour to our pace and made it so interesting, explaining everything so clearly. Beautiful temples and shrines and gardens! And the town of Kanaka is wonderful! Great shopping and excellent street food which we sampled all along the way. Memorable matcha tasting in the beautiful bamboo forest. Such a great day, we took our time and spent all day and she did not rush us. It was the absolute best! So glad we booked this tour! Not to be missed and having a private guide like Hana made it so much better!A+
What a wonderful experience this tour was! Could not have been better. Our guide Hana was the best! She adjusted to our pace, (we are a little older and slower) gave just the right amount of information and showed us the most wonderful places. She helped us buy things when we wanted to, and guided us through all the transportation smoothly. We could never have found our way to everything we saw on our own. Such beautiful gardens and temples! It was really the perfect day. Hana took extra time with us to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed the trip. We are so appreciative of her efforts. She spoke perfect English so we had no difficulties at all, even though it was our first time in Japan. Highly recommend this tour as a wonderful addition to visiting Tokyo.
Hana was an exceptional tour guide. She was knowledgeable, great with her English and patient. We loved the tour. It was so beautiful and we learned a lot about the history or the temples and shrines we went to. Hana showed us a really great ramen restaurant when we ended! I would say plan to eat prior because we were all very hungry by the end of the tour. We ended around 2, so the ramen she showed us was appreciated! We went on a rainy day and I think it really made for a beautiful tour.
We had a great tour with Minato. He was well spoken and knowledgable. Using the local public trains and buses to reach the temples added a unique experience. He also gave us recommendations to explore the town afterwards.
We had a very pleasant and enjoyable time on this private tour. Hana was very knowledgeable, friendly and reliable. Her English was fluent and it was fun talking to her. She was also very playful and kind with our children and even brought some snacks for them. It was a great experience that we can highly recommend.
Minato guided us in our visit to Kamakura. He was very well spoken and knowledgeable, we enjoyed the experience very much. Thank you!
We visited the Hasedera Temple, Kotokuin Temple, Hokokuji Temple and the Tsurugaoka-Hachimangu Temple and we really enjoyed the four of them. Minako was very kind and very knowledgeable. He answered all our questions. We loved the whole visit.
Minato was a great guide, we visited hasadera temple, kotokuin, hokokuji and tsurugaoka-hachimangu temples, tons of activities and lost to see, all worth it. I recomend Minato a lot , knows well and hes very kind
What a majestic day! We met our lovely tour guide, Hana, at Tokyo Station. Although we were a bit lost, she found us almost right away. We appreciated the tour's structure, and we enjoyed it even more because of our incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and engaging tour guide, Hana. At the end of the tour, she suggested a "very local" ramen place, and now I know I will never have ramen so good ever again.
Minato has guided me with his extensive knowledge of the historical background of the kotokuin temple. And his English was so fluent.
Minato Kotoku-in Minato was great! Spoke great English and gave us a history lesson about the kotoku-in temple. Great experience!

We took the tour at Kotoku-in Temple with Minato, it was short and informative, very kind and provided extra info, they were still doing trial run so for us it was free
Minato is fluent in english, and gave nice and clear explanation about the history of the status and surrounding area..
It was a beautiful tour around Kamakura city!! We went to four major temples and shrines in Kamakura, the 6 hours felt really short! It’s surely worth the price and a must visit when going to Japan!
Impressive and authentic views with lots of background stories behind it. the tour was amazing!! Although the names of the historical figures were a bit confusing, the history is also fun to listen to:)
The guide was very friendly and kind. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for fun but insightful Kamakura tour.
This tour was one of my best experiences here in japan. It was a very informative tour, especially making it better was our guide Ai. She went over the top, getting us place to place with ease. When coming to Kamakura, I recommend you book this tour!
The train ride from Tokyo was seamless, and our guide, Ai handled everything so we could just relax and enjoy. Seeing the Great Buddha in person was breathtaking, and the surrounding temples and streets had such a peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommend!!
This tour was amazing! I could probably say it was the best tour i ever had! Our guide Ai was friendly and caring, she took well care of us during the entire tour. If you are thinking about booking this tour, i will totally recommend!!
