Itinerary
This program lets you enjoy both Japanese tradition and fun hands-on activities. The highlight is making your own original uchiwa (Japanese fan). Using pressed flowers and Japanese-patterned origami paper, you can design your very own uchiwa to take home as a special memory. This activity is inspired by the Japanese spirit of appreciating nature and plants. After the craft session, you will enjoy a cup of matcha latte and two types of wagashi. Matcha latte is made by mixing powdered matcha with milk, which makes it creamy and mild — perfect for first-timers or even children. For the sweets, you will try two unique creations: Monaka – a traditional Japanese sweet made with crisp wafers. Here, it’s arranged in a modern style by adding custard cream, mochi and your choice of dried fruits as toppings. Even those who don’t like sweet red bean paste can enjoy this version. Kokedama-inspired sweet – Kokedama means “moss ball,” a style of Japanese gardening where plants are grown in a ball of soil covered with moss. This dessert is designed to look like a cute little moss ball. Through both making and tasting, you will have a relaxed and fun way to experience Japanese culture.

Saw the event from the school message board, and was super excited to try the first matcha making experience. Instructors explained the process in both Japanese and English clearly. The mochi and matcha is way above expectations. Whole vibe is chill and comfy. Would definitely recommend other friends who worry about inefficient Japanese speaking ability.
A very good experience to learn about Japanese desert and culture, there are good tutor to guide you how to make
A good mix of summer related activities.
A lovely experience and a great place, the atmosphere is good, and the instructors are very friendly.
I never thought making a handicraft could be this enjoyable until I tried this experience. I’m not particularly creative, but this hands-on introduction to traditional Japanese handicraft was incredibly fun and surprisingly easy to enjoy. It felt authentic, relaxing, and was a great way to immerse myself in local culture. The experience was made even better with matcha and mochi wagashi at the end… both were absolutely delicious and the perfect finishing touch. I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique and memorable cultural activity during their trip.
Delicious Matcha latte and Mochi Wagashi. The food is very good and the support as well. The location is nice and peaceful.
Japanese hand fan decoration I did all by myself for the first time in my life. They provided some samples of dried flowers and other things for decoration which we stuck together on fan.Everyone had their unique fan design. I also experienced first time making matcha and some matcha Moji sweets. Stuff is very friendly and speak fluent English very helpful if you don’t understand Japanese or just want to give your self relaxation from Japanese language and enjoy some Japanese culture 😊
It was a lot of fun. We got to design our own fans with flowers and imprinted them with an iron. Even though Matcha isn’t my most favorite drink, the Matcha making class was a lot of fun aswell.
This was one of the most enjoyable hands-on cultural experiences I’ve had in Japan. The crafts class where we made traditional Japanese fans was beautifully organized. The flower designs and artistic elements were thoughtfully prepared, and the instructor gave very clear, patient guidance. Even beginners could create something elegant and meaningful to take home. But the real highlight was the matcha and mochi experience — truly the gem of the program. Everything was explained step-by-step, from preparing matcha from scratch to assembling the sweets. We made matcha drinks ourselves and created delicious desserts with buttermilk-based monaka shells, matcha custard, and beautiful toppings. Not only did everything taste amazing, but the presentation aspect made it even more special. The ingredients were high quality, the tools and setup were professional, and the staff made the entire process fun and welcoming. It felt both authentic and creative — not just a demonstration, but a real interactive experience. Excellent value for money, very well structured, and perfect for anyone interested in Japanese culture and sweets. I would 100% recommend this to visitors and residents alike.
Amazing food and experience, I’m so glad that I was invited! Enjoyed fan making, changko making and sake tasting, thank you very much for having me!
I loved this experience! We got to take the uchiwa home, which made it a lovely souvenir and a great memory from the trip. The instructor was very kind and supportive. The matcha latte and the traditional sweets were both adorable and delicious.
I had this experience thanks to KOKO JAPAN. I could experience making my own Uchiwa (Japanese fan) and making treats with the group! Thank you so much!
Matcha was delicious and the staff was super nice. Came with a lot of people and they were super patient and polite! Definitely recommend ✨
I liked the experience, delicious food and charming staff teaching how to make the meals, I learned a lot and I recommend to join!
We had a very good time as a family during a creative workshop on making Japanese fans and pastries led by Hiroko and Michiko. Our two hostesses welcomed us very well and were very attentive to answering our questions. I highly recommend this experience, which allows you to break up your sightseeing, spend a convivial moment, and interact with Japanese people.
Wonderful! Interesting! The sweets were very good.
He is a fun and good teacher. Thank you for today.
I enjoyed making matcha au lait and monaca. Making the fan was also a lot of fun and a lovely memory. Thank you very much.
It's a great experience, learning about Japanese culture, learning about Japanese sweets and making your own handmade craft and desserts.
Excellent I'm just going to the fireworks conference next month, I'm going to buy a fan, I didn't think I had a chance to do it myself today.
Experienced fan-making and tea slathering today, the process was fun. The teacher explained it carefully, and we worked together to make it. It was a very enriching and memorable experience, learning about traditional Japanese culture and leaving behind our own works.
Everything was very fun and educational. Easy to understand, the staff speaks English so it is fine if you cannot speak Japanese.
The teachers responded to the special wards. It was delicious.
We made debt making and making Monaco. Teachers told me well and it was fun.
