Itinerary
After a pickup from Tokyo/Shinjuku, drive to Kamakura. First, discover Kamakura's must-see attraction, the Great Buddha. Standing at 13.35m, this majestic bronze statue embodies Japan's rich Buddhist culture and is the second tallest bronze Buddha in the country.
Next, ride the cute little Enoden train that has been in operation for more than 100 years, passing by Kamakura's famous sights along the Shonan coast and a mosaic of colorful districts that boast their own seaside flavor. Head to Kamakura High School and experience the iconic railway crossing and road. Take a stroll on the beach, listen to the sound of the waves, and relax under the sun. If the weather is good, you can even see Mount Fuji directly.
Continue to the Enoshima Shrine built in 552 upon the order of Emperor Kinmei. Admire the wooden colorful 8-armed seated Benzaiten statue, the Hizen country Fujiwara Masahirosakutachi, the Happo tortoise, the Enoshima origin, and the bronze torii – all nationally designated cultural properties.
Then head to the Shinto shrine of Tsurugaoka Hachimangū in Kamakura to embrace Japan's spiritual essence. Explore a symbol of samurai heritage and prosperity with a look at majestic torii gates, beautiful gardens, and historic structures. Immerse yourself in traditional rituals and serene surroundings.
Finally, walk down Komachi Street, a lively old street in Kamakura that stretches from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine to Kamakura Station. Soak in the ambiance of this peculiar strip of modernity in the center of an ancient city.

You better speak Chinese or Korean, otherwise you won't get much info about the sites you are going to. It was disappointing not to understand most of the explanations. The English "speaking" guide mainly gave instructions on meeting times. The sites were interesting and thanks to Google Gemini we were able to get some historical information about them.
Our guide Alan was a lot of fun and made sure everyone knew where to meet and what time. The Giant Buddha is astonishing. Really enjoyed the lunch at Enoshima Island.
Our tour group met at Beans, a bar at the sidewalk in a hi rise office building across from Tokyo Train Station. Maps made me walk through the middle of the Train Station which was very confusing. Go around the train station. The bus ride is comfortable. Our guide was very friendly and funny. First stop was a Shinto Shrine and then the impressive Great Buddha. Then we boarded the Enoden train to Enoshima Island. At the end we boarded our bus back to Tokyo.
This was a great day trip from Tokyo! Our guide was great and informative. It was nice to see a couple of areas outside of Tokyo.
it was a nice tour. it is a lot of walking but also you will take beautiful pictures. Alex our guide was very helpful and nice guy.
We had a great time with our tour guide Edward. He kept a large team together and provided details for all sites . Saw beautiful sites
I had a bit of a mixup with the trip. Jack was a wonderful guide and I always felt supported.. He was the best.
Tour was great overall. We got to see the most touristic hotspot to take great pictures. It was really hot though. Tour guide was jack. Such a funny and warm dude! He also gave us some instructions to handle the heat and always gave us an alternative if the heat was too much for us to handle. Definitely a good time overall!!
The guide Lee was fantastic and was explaining everything in English and Japanese both languages. He was helpful at every stage from start to finish and made sure everyone is onboard and that no-one is left behind. He also recommended restaurants based on different cuisines. All in all the trip was quite enjoyable. Would recommend
It was a really nice experience with a very nice tour guide Mizki , she’s a very nice young and professional, very friendly and with good attitude and energy. Thanks
It was nice Andrew our guide was super friendly we did a lot I really enjoyed it was a nice experience
The leader had 40 people to keep up with even though he was able to handle us all it was a task. I would suggest smaller group or headsets to hear actions.
Well knowledgeable guide. He explained the. Historical part & sometime with a humour sense Should given more time to explore the place It was a rushing trip
Our guide was Miskit. A beautiful young lady full of heart and soul. She wss an excellent guide and coild speak English very wrll. We travelled from Tokyo by bus train and on foot. She was clear and very precise making it a pleasure to view all the attractions Thank you Miski for an amazing day out.
A great tour covering several sites. Our tour guide, Michael, was excellent. He provided background info for each stop then we had free time. On our own to explore. His lunch recommendation was excellent.
Bloody good one. Our guide spoke good English, clearly and accurately. Group numbers were not too high, just enough.
it started with driver or guide not speaking english at all, only 4 pax , two were chineses and inspite of mentioning on klook preferrwd language english they sennd a chinese speaking driver who makea no effort to communicate in english. he forgot his commob sense at home working in travel agency, no use kf google translate as if he wants against speaking english but discrimatory. no proper instruction as too where we r going or what is plan. on return with his loud voice kept chatting with other passengers loudly no manners, no respect for tourist which is giving him business. his name it Mr Yu.on complaining klook blamed me for booking wrong tour when tour clearly mentioned english and chinese speaking guide. gogoday travel arranged ot locally and our complete day and it is actually a good itenary
My family and I had the pleasure of being guided by Allan during one of the busiest times in Japan – Golden Week. Despite the crowds and hectic pace, Allan was absolutely fantastic. One thing we really love is Allan's energy was infectious. Allan managed every challenge with a smile and kept the group moving smoothly through packed stations, popular attractions, and tight schedules. It’s not easy handling the chaos of Golden Week, but Allan did it effortlessly. If you want a guide who knows Japan inside out and stays calm and cheerful under pressure, ask for Allan. Highly recommended!
Hello My Tour was Sam highly recommended very friendly and passionate about his job Love the tour going to Enshoshima in train was wonderful .love the tour it gives me enough time to explore everything. Thanks
We had a great day out from Tokyo on this tour to Kamakura. Our guide, Peter, was really helpful and informative and gave really clear instructions. He offered to take photos and was always available to help and answer questions. Would highly recommend this tour.
Our guide Peter was excellent. He was friendly, enthusiastic and his instructions were very clear. He helped make it a fantastic day.
Everything went really smoothly. Our guide, Wanting (Rachel), did great job in providing all useful information - from historical background to food recommendations. She was well prepared and spoke good English. The tour was a great experience and I can highly recommend it!
The trip felt a little rushed compared to others I've been on, I feel the free time could've done with being higher at kamakura and lower at enoshima. Other than that the guide was great and had a good time
This tour requires changing modes of travel. The guide is on his toes, and no one was lost. Beautiful seaside location. Free time on the island to do what you want
Great tour! Alex was very kind and guided us very well during the tour; he has extensive knowledge and his manner is very cordial.
What a wonderful experience! Our guide, Jeffrey was extremely knowledgeable and super cheerful throughout the entire. He also made it easy for us to travel around, making the whole experience practically seamless. We got to visit the amazing infamous state of the Great Buddha, we visited other places as well such as the island of Enoshima, with its beautiful foliage of bamboo and other plants as well as the beautiful views of the Pacific in beachfront areas. I would highly recommend this tour without any reservations and I would strongly advise if you can get Jeffrey as your tour guide, you’ll have a guaranteed memorable experience.
Very informative. Lots of walking. Alex did a wonderful job giving us history and back story of the places we visited.
Began right on time which is a must for me, tour was housefull, covered all the points mentioned with great detail explanations,
This was an amazing excursion. Awesome sauuuce... I would do it again and again. Recommend by me and my daughter
Good experience the tour takes you to some amazing places with really good photo opportunities 10/10 recommend and the tour guide explained things very well
Allan Tan was tour guide. He was very good, very funny and very knowledgeable. He is very helpful too. We Enjoyed this tour very much. He assisted us all the way, from the very start till end of our tour. It was a very good experience. Loreta and Danny
Alex was a great host! Very knowledgeable. Cool experience. Awesome choice. Super fun lots of walking around
We really enjoy the trip, Peter is the best!!! Thanks, he is so good and helpfull! Nice area and great food recomendation!
I am travelling solo in Japan and thought booking a group tour was ideal. It was a very nice experience, Peter our tour guide was great!! He was making everyone feel welcome, explained everything in bit English and Chinese, so everyone could understand. He gave a lot of details about the places we were visiting and also gave us advice about good lunch places. He was also very kind in taking photos when we asked!! Thank you, highly recommended activity!!
Tour guide Allan Tan puts a lot of energy into his tour providing a heap of information with some humour and interest injected along the way. He was quickly able to jump between English and Mandarin for his guests. He also made some adjustments to the order of things to avoid the worst of the peak crowds on the day. The ride on the local train was quite a hoot like turning back the clock about 60 years but still a good ride. We didn't take the escalator to the observation deck as the air was not that clear for a good view. Many interesting eating options on the walk up the shopping street.
Peter was a very friendly guide. Explained everything in a lot of detail and accompanied us along the way. It was a great tour and I can definitely recommend it. The restaurant Peter recommended was very good as well.
Carter was a great tour guide! The town of Kamuakura was lovely to scroll, eat, and shop. The Hachimangu Shrine was moving and lovely. Our last stop to Enoshima was amazing and the views from the top were breathtaking!!! Great tour!
. It was very hot the day we went and there wasn’t much shade. It was a nice introduction to the area which is well worth a longer visit. Train was very crowded. We did enjoy ourselves and Peter our guide was very informative. His English was very good.
Our leader Allen was 10/10. We got to see all the super awesome spots with more than enough time to explore. He was very clear about the time we had, where to go and what to expect. He communicated efficiently and clearly so we knew what the deal was at each moment during the day. The description should be updated to needs at least 3,000 yen cash to pay for some sites and food. We got lucky that the 2nd bus stop had an ATM
Super fun trip with plenty of beautiful landscapes. Our guide Peter was excellent, always telling us interesting facts and stories about Japan.
We had a wonderful time on this tour! Alex was our guide and he was great. Super knowledgeable about our tour locations and he shared interesting stories about the history and culture of each. He ensured everything ran smoothly so we got to each place in a timely manner, including back to Tokyo at the end. We especially enjoyed exploring Enoshima Island, which has beautiful shrines nestled throughout the mountain. Would absolutely recommend this tour. Thanks again to Alex for a great experience!
It was one of the best day trips I had on my visit to Japan this year. Usually I like to plan my own trips over there. But decided to book a trip with a guide this time as well. And I was glad I did. Our guide Alex was really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. He had good english and told us a lot of interesting facts about places where we were going and about Japan in general. Some of the information I heard for the first time. And I appreciated his efforts to make our trip a pleasant one in spite of the rainy weather. Alex gave us a lot of useful and practical advises about areas in Tokyo as well. I highly recommend Alex as a guide and this trip particularly.
Disappointing experience with tour guide "Ko". We did the Kamakura day tour, pick up time 8.30am. "Ko" phoned us at 8.28am scolding us and saying they will not be waiting for us. We tried to explain that we were at the meeting place but couldn't find him (there were several other guides from the same tour company holding up signs) and people standing around for different tours. We tried to ask for help but the other guides couldn't help us. We finally found our guide "Ko" at 8.30 and he again scolded us saying we are late and they won't wait around for us next time. Such a stressful time and bad customer service. When you are working in the tourism industry you should be more helpful and friendly especially when you are dealing with foreigners who are finding their way in a new country. Your job is to guide foreigners and help them have an enjoyable holiday. We also found it hard to understand Ko when he was talking during the tour. We expected a decent day out but instead we found the whole experience to be stressful and rushed.
Check in was chaotic and disorganized.. Tour bus was old and poorly maintained, curtains were stained and dirty. we’ve signed up for English speaking tour guide, but entire tour was spoken in Chinese and poorly understandable English. Lots of time wasted during tour waiting around for others who did not follow schedule. I’ve been to other Viator tours in Europe and in Japan and had good experiences, but this tour was so poorly done. Viator should look at the qualities of tour companies they work with.
Great way to learn about temples and religion in Japan. Rather than just going, our tour guide Allan educated us
Tour was great, our guide Armand was excellent. He provided lots of great information about each spot and gave an excellent recommendation for lunch. I was glad I booked this tour and would recommend it to others.
Jack was an amazing guide! The itinerary was well-organized, and I had such a memorable trip thanks to him. I really hope to travel with Jack again next time!
Martin was fantastic, very fluent in English, helped us with every detail and made our trip feel very warm. Thank you for hosting us! I'll see you next time I'm in Japan
