Excellent tour! We booked a private tour so that we could see the things on the top of our Tokyo list. This tour surpassed our expectations. Yuki our guide shared his extensive knowledge of Tokyo and its history. He showed us all of the areas we requested and even added a last minute request to visit the Senso-Ji Temple. During our visit to Yanaka, Yuki encouraged us to try a Japanese meat pie (I cannot remember the Japanese name) from a street vendor. It was so good. Yuki said that treat was a favorite made by his mom too. Yuki also shared some tips on the train system which enhanced our train travels. When we return to Tokyo we will look to book again and highly recommend this private tour.
We had a great experience exploring the city with our local guide! She showed us everything we had agreed on beforehand and made the tour really enjoyable. Everything was well organized, and we had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!
An absolutely incredible way to experience Tokyo — like exploring with wonderful local friends! I cannot recommend Masumi and Subaru highly enough! My mom and I spent our first full day in Tokyo with them, and I know it will turn out to be one of the highlights of our trip. From beginning to end, the experience was exceptional. What made this tour so special was that it never felt like a formal guided tour. It felt like exploring Tokyo with incredibly knowledgeable, funny, kind friends who genuinely wanted to share the city they love with us. Masumi is an absolute gem. He’s a true native speaker of both English and Japanese, which made everything feel effortless, but it was his personality that really made the day. He was warm, authentic, hilarious, and incredibly thoughtful. Subaru was equally wonderful, with an amazing depth of knowledge and a seemingly endless collection of fascinating stories, historical details, and insights that brought everything we saw to life. We explored Tsukiji, Hama-rikyū Gardens, Ueno, and Jimbōchō, and they were fantastic about adapting the itinerary to our interests and the time we had. We especially loved Jimbōchō! Their recommendations were excellent, and we experienced so much more than we ever would have discovered on our own. And it was the little things that made the biggest impression. They took such wonderful care of us, from helping with absolutely everything along the way to making sure my mom always had an umbrella over her head when it rained. That level of genuine kindness and consideration is something you simply cannot manufacture. By the end of the day, we felt like we’d spent time with friends rather than tour guides. We laughed, learned an incredible amount, and came away with a much richer appreciation for Tokyo and its people. If you’re considering booking a tour with Masumi and Subaru, do it. They are extraordinary guides and even more extraordinary people. I would recommend them without hesitation, and I genuinely hope our paths cross again someday! Thank you both for giving us such a memorable first day in Japan!
Himari was a wonderful tour guide, she speaks excellent English and has tonnes of insights into Japan and local customs. She showed us some wonderful shrines and temples. And she brought us to a wonderful spot in Harijuku for lunch that was incredible. Big thank you and would highly recommend 🙏
Excellent tour around Japan!! It was lovely being able to curate our tour based on what we like. We could chat and change things accordingly. Daishin was our guide and truly amazing! He brought us to the popular and authentic places too. The hidden local lunch spot perfectly selected for our love of sushi and wanting a traditional experience. It was incredibly helpful having someone translate and also take the trains. Highly recommended!
10 stars! We had an overnight stay in Tokyo after a cruise. Our tour was after morning check out with a late evening flight. So we wanted to fit in the 6 hour tour before we headed to the airport (leaving luggage at the Hotel. We coordinated & personalized plans via WhatsApp, we wanted to focus on local food and local culture. They really helped us narrow what is realistic in the giant Tokyo area. They picked us up at our hotel in Ginza. It was just my wife and I, and we walked and rode the subway with tour guides Yuta(owner) and Hina(training). We spent the morning at Tsujiki Fish Market trying so much great food without having to guess which stall to buy from (their personal recommendations of Waygu skewers, ultra fresh sashmi, oysters, matcha latte, grilled unagi, and Miso/Fish soup). We then went to Asakusa, for Senso Ji Temple, and shopped and ate freshley baked ningyo cookie. Yuta showed us some of the traditions in temple, purifiying with the incense, washing of hands and face, and tossing the coin and making the jestures before praying/wish. We toured the different market venues and along the way saw several izakayas and food stalls only if our stomachs were bigger...LOL!!! We finished in going to Ueno, and passed throught the oldest subway underground shopping corridors in Tokyo on the way (small but cool). In Ueno, we visited the Ueno park to visit the Toshogu Shrine. This is THE Shogun /Samurai Shrine to visit. Again learning and participating in some of the shrine wish/prayer tradition ritual was a great experience. We finished walking through a local halloween festivel then to another market on the way to the subway as we wrapped our tour and got piping hot Takoyaki we shared with our guides...sooo good! We received one of the best tours we've ever done in our travels around the world! YES, book this tour, especially for personal insight from local residents of Tokyo area. I can't describe in enough words the fun we had!!! Be flexible, and able to have fun relaxed conversastions on the walk/tour asking about the culture and their own experiences living in this unique city of the Japan and in the World. Thank you Yuta and Hina!!!
We took a tour with Yuta on our first day (and first time) visiting Tokyo. This was one of the best decisions we made! Communication before the tour was awesome, and everything was customized to what we wanted to see and do. Before the tour, we were told to think of our guide as a local friend from Tokyo. Yuta was absolutely that and more! He showed us some awesome food, took us to local spots we probably wouldn’t have found on our own, and taught us a lot about Tokyo. He even took the time at the end of our tour to make sure we were comfortable navigating the trains. Yuta was knowledgeable, professional, polite, and just an all-around great guy. We had an awesome time and couldn’t have asked for a better first day in Tokyo. I really can’t recommend this tour and Yuta enough!
Asahuka was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, professional, personable and really made our day. Thank you.
Yuta is a fantastic guide with a lovely personality, he will make your tour most enjoyable.
We really enjoyed the visit with Subaru, a student from Tokyo that welcomed us as if he was a family friend we knew since long time! We immediately got in tune with each other and the visit was a very pleasant experience. He adjusted the pace and the locations to visit very wisely and catered to us. We enjoyed a lot of delicious local food in spots that we would have never found out ourselves! Definitely advised.
My sister and I booked a tour with Michitabi for our first trip to Japan. We wanted to visit a mixture of must-see and hidden gem locations for a well-balanced experience. The operator asked thoughtful questions to help identify and recommend some locations tailored to our preferences. We decided on a 6-hour tour of Asakusa, Kagurazaka, and Ueno and really enjoyed our experience. Our guide Asahi was awesome. It took a lot of stress off having a local that could help us meet and communicate with interesting shop owners and locals as we navigated the cities. She shared fascinating history, facts, and customs that we would have never known if visiting any of the destinations on our own. She also personalized the tour with information and spontaneous stops as she learned more about us throughout the day. Overall, we had a great experience and would book another tour with Michitabi on our next visit to Japan.
Our tour guide, Keigo, was super friendly and open-minded. We had a lot of fun, and he shared everything he knows about the history of Asakusa with us. He was very responsive to our requests regarding what we wanted to see, and at no point we did feel any time pressure. We would love to go on another tour with Keigo. Thank you so much, Keigo!
My husband and I spent a lovely day exploring Tokyo with Yuta and Hina. We had a tailor-made tour, which allowed us to personalise the experience to suit our interests. Yuta and Hina were both incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. We really enjoyed their company and appreciated the time they spent with us, making the day a pleasant and memorable experience. Thank you both for your warmth and hospitality!

We had a fantastic day with our guide, Subaru. Everything went smoothly, from the initial planning to the tour itself. One of the highlights was the delicious street food we sampled in Togoshi Ginza. We would definitely do a tour like this again!
Great tour with Yuta. He took us around the quieter streets of Tokyo at our request. Really nice personalised experience.
Masumi was a really good and fun guide! He explained everything well and knew a lot of funfacts! It was a really nice way to explore our first day in Tokyo with him. Simply wonderful!
This was our first visit to Japan and we decided to do this on our 2nd day. This was a wonderful way to start a trip in a new country and learn their culture. Tomoki was very helpful in customising the route to the locations we wanted to travel to. We were travelling with our kids (8 and 13) and our guide, Subaru was able to connect with them and share information that got them very excited and kept them interested in the walking tour. Subaru and Sahi both were amazing and spoke good English. My little one stuck to Sahi and Sahi was kind enough to answer all her questions. Subaru is also a photographer and took many lovely pics of us and even sent them to us. We really enjoyed this tour and will recommend it.
Very friendship guides Who showed us very typical and daily places in Japan Surely I recommend them
Very fun experience, Waka was a great guide! You get to try very local and delicious food. Recommend to everyone visiting, easy way of getting to know Tokyo.
Tomoki and Asahi were absolute fantastic guides through Tokyo. I recommend to book with them to get education about Japanese customs, history and overall fun.
Communication before the tour was seamless. Tomoki reached out on WhatsApp right away to help us tailor our 4-hour slot, navigate cultural etiquette, and pick the perfect itinerary for us. Our guide, Yuta, made the day unforgettable. His English is fantastic, and his vibe was like exploring the city with a local friend. He shared brilliant historical context, helped us shop at a couple of extra spots, and even extended our time out of pure passion for what he does. Thank you, Tomoki and Yuta! You made our time in Tokyo truly special.
Tomoki was friendly and knowledgeable. He showed us all we need to know about the train system. An excellent vibe and was able to help us see everything we wanted to experience
Yuta and Daishin provided an Excellent Tour of Tokyo. They took a lot of pictures, learned how to make our own matcha, showed us place to buy sweets, souvenirs, anime, visited shrines, and ate ramen. We highly recommend this tour!

The two young gentlemen, Subaru and Daishin who took our private tour around the Hidden Gems of Tokyo today, were the perfect guides. Very informative, fun and just easy to be with. I will be doing another tour with them on our next visit to Tokyo
Awesome guys, really personal approach and slow pace. Feel like you're walking with friends and getting to know about local life. Highly recommend!
Very friendly and relaxed walking tour through Yanaka with Haruka . Recommended!!!
Tomoki and Haruka were the best guides we could have asked for. The entire tour was so personal to us and we had so much fun. You can tell how much they care about what they do and have put a lot of effort to making the tour enjoyable for everyone. The tour started already way before we met, Tomoki got in touch with us long before the tour and asked what we liked. This was definitely our highlight of Tokyo! Arigatou gozaimasu <3
We spent an excellent day with Subaru. He was enthusiastic and adaptable. He took us to some of his favorite places and we loved them. We highly recommend!
Its was the best experience ever! Rico was so nice and committed to the schedule. They really understand what I wanted and needed and took me to very local and special places. Don’t miss the tour with them!
Thanks to Taiga and team, Appreciate the time and effort with our tour today. Five stars for Taiga. From the morning pick up at the hotel to end of day. It was great. The shrines we visited with the historical context, to the shopping experience. Tailored and personalised for us. It's a wonderful thing to see your amazing city and learn from your knowledge. We look forward to our next trip.
We had such a great experience today with Yuta-san as our guide! He was a lovely guy, spoke excellent English, and showed us around Japan with great knowledge and enthusiasm. He made the whole day enjoyable, easy, and memorable. Honestly, one of the best guides we’ve had in Japan. We highly recommend Yuta to anyone looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional guide. Thank you, Yuta, for an amazing day! 🇯🇵😊
Was an amazing tour. We discovered the contrast of the City. Subaru was our guide and he was a great guy to explore Tokyo during our 6 hour tour.
We had an unforgettable two days exploring Tokyo with Yuta, and the entire experience from start to finish exceeded our expectations. Before the tour even began, communication with the team was remarkably smooth and friendly. They made the entire planning process effortless, and both Tomoki and Yuta gave us fantastic recommendations for places to explore in Tokyo and on one- or two-day trips in the surrounding areas. Yuta is an outstanding guide—warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure his guests have the best possible time. He took incredible care of our comfort throughout both days, going well out of his way to the point of extending our tours by an extra 1 to 2 hours each day, which we were thrilled about. His itinerary choices were spot-on. Instead of just hitting the typical tourist landmarks, Yuta showed us vibrant neighborhoods and spots favored mostly by locals. He also introduced us to unique, unconventional shops that broke far away from the standard commercial style. His communication was flawless, and his deep insight into local customs and daily culture made the entire city come alive for us. We could not have asked for a better introduction to Tokyo. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an authentic, local experience!
