We had a wonderful morning with Yoshi! We enjoyed seeing all of the sights, sounds and tastes of Tokyo. Even the subway ride was fun. We would highly recommend!

Itinerary
While in Tokyo, use the services of a professional local guide to customize your own sightseeing itinerary. Once you select a half-day or full-day tour to suit your schedule, you decide the pace of your day and how much you’d like to fit in. Explore at a leisurely pace on a guided walking tour, using the city’s efficient public transportation system to get you around. Or upgrade for a private vehicle to pick you up at your hotel. Then visit your choice of historic, cultural and culinary attractions in the vibrant capital. After you’ve seen the sights, your guide offers convenient drop-off at your hotel. Full-day custom tour on foot or by private vehicle Eight hours of sightseeing allows you to take in even more of the city. Start with a visit to Tsukiji, the world’s largest wholesale fish and seafood market. Or perhaps head to downtown Tokyo and its fantastic museums, enjoying a bit of the old Tokyo that remains in the street food and traditional shops.
How about touring the Imperial Palace or Hamarikyu Garden, where you can appreciate the magnificent view while enjoying traditional sweets and green tea? See Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens, especially beautiful in the autumn, or Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, a mix of traditional Japanese and Western design.
No matter what your interests are, there’s always a great neighborhood to explore in Tokyo. Consider the upscale Ginza, a famous shopping district where fashion brands as well as shops selling Japanese swords, bonsai, kimonos and green tea can be found. Get a sense of Tokyo during the Edo period in Asakusa, or head to Shinjuku’s bright lights and hidden alleys, full of tiny bars with big personalities.
Half-day custom tour on foot or by private vehicle If you’ve selected a half-day tour upon booking, your guide can arrange a visit to several Tokyo attractions or city neighborhoods. Four hours allows plenty of time to learn how to pay a proper visit to Meiji Shrine, then try a few snacks or even go sake tasting if you wish (own expense).
You might enjoy the amazing architecture and trendy shops of Harajuku, Omotesando and Shibuya neighborhoods, or head to Akihabara for electronics, video games and Japanese manga.
One of our recommended destinations is Yanaka Ginza. In Yanaka Ginza, you can see traditional Japanese crafts and a variety of souvenirs. It's the perfect place to take home a memory of Japan. Of course, you can also customize your destination and change it to Odaiba, Ginza, etc. If you select a private vehicle, you can be dropped off at your hotel after the tour.

Our tour guide Yoshi did an excellent job showing us around many different areas of Tokyo. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient and kind. We could not have asked for a better way to start our trip to Japan! He also guided us to some delicious snacks and lunch!
Amazing day with the best guide! Shohei was so much fun and made the one day we had in Tokyo absolutely perfect!!
A wonderful tour with a brilliant guide (Toshiko). Would highly recommend.
Tadashi was incredibly welcoming, thoughtful and informative guide. He was fantastic in recommending both typical places but also off the beaten track. We visited the beautiful Kiyosumi Garden - a genuine highlight. Also showed us how best to navigate Tokyo subway! Incredibly thoughtful personalised guides which he made for each of us plus fans with our names written on them. Overall, very much enjoyed our half day tour. Would suggest describing what you like and Tadashi will come up with a suggested itinerary to suit your requirements. Excellent comms beforehand so we knew exactly what to expect.
Shuhei was a great guide! We enjoyed our time with him in Tokyo and appreciated his unique perspective as a local that grew up partially in the US. The day was well organized and he taught us all about the train system so that we could use it later on our own. Our lunch place was fantastic and was purposely selected to accommodate our dietary restrictions. Would recommend this tour to others!
Our guide met us at our hotel and returned with us at the end of the day. Perfect for a first day in Tokyo. Now we feel like we can get around by ourselves
Shuhei was an excellent guide. He showed us everything we needed to see in Tokyo. He was knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend for anyone trying to see Tokyo in a day.
We had a fabulous day with Shuhei exploring many facets of Tokyo. We had requested to see gardens, local culture and craft beer! He delivered on all counts. We saw temples, gardens tea houses, bustling markets. He also showed us how the train system operates as we are new to Japan this was invaluable. We had a delicious lunch that we would never have discovered on our own. We walked 29000 steps and ended with a well earned beer at the Tokyo Beer lab. All in all an amazing introduction to Tokyo. Shuhei was an entertaining guide. We would highly recommend him.
My elderly mom and I had a great time on our half day tour of Tokyo.
We had such an amazing experience with Shuhei! He was friendly and super knowledgeable about Japanese culture and lifestyle. We would recommend this tour to anyone, especially on your first days in Japan/tokyo! Shuhei bought us food at the market and took photos of us throughout the tour. He also taught us how to get on and off public transport which was super helpful for the rest of our trip to Japan! 100% worth the money & and overall unbelievable experience!!
If you’re looking for a private tour of Tokyo, look no further. This is an absolute must for anyone visiting Tokyo for the first time. The tour is fully customizable and is a perfect choice for families who want a more personal experience while avoiding large crowds. A huge shout-out to our tour guide, Shuhei, who was fantastic throughout the day and went above and beyond to help when one member of our group was unable to finish the tour. His professionalism, flexibility, and kindness were greatly appreciated. I highly recommend asking for Shuhei by name when booking your tour. He won’t disappoint!

This was a great time exploring temples, shrines, and gardens. Learned a lot from my guide (Yuki-san 🙏🏾) and he accommodated to add certain locations I wanted to visit, such as secondhand stores and shoe shops. Would definitely say it's worth it, and hopefully you also get Yuki-san. He was very chill, funny, and knowledgeable about the history of each spot we visited.
Great start and overview of Tokyo. This was our first day in Japan and a great introduction to the country and Tokyo. Our guide, SHUHEI, was EXCELLENT. VERY knowledgeable and interested in what we wanted and our preferences. Tailored the tour to our interests. Sent us helpful links and recommended sightseeing spots, shopping, and restaurants after the tour. Fun and educational. Highly recommended.
We felt so welcomed to Japan and this was a super friendly easy-going guide (Shuhei). We ate, we listened, we visited shrines and small stores, we walked at what pace suited our style, we shopped if we wanted or passed as window shoppers , we had the car waiting wherever we ended each leg of the adventure. We saw so much in a few hours!
Yuki was an absolutely outstanding tour guide and played a huge part in making our trip to Japan so memorable. He did an incredible job of introducing us to Japanese traditions, culture, history, and everyday life in a way that was both interesting and enjoyable. Yuki was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and communicated exceptionally well. He was always patient, helpful, and willing to answer our questions, and you could tell that he genuinely enjoyed sharing his knowledge and culture with us. What really stood out was how comfortable he made us feel throughout the entire experience. He was professional while also being friendly and personable, and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We truly cannot imagine having a better tour guide than Yuki. He made our experience in Japan even more special, and we would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Japan. We are very grateful for everything he did to make our trip so memorable!
The tour was a great immersion into Japan culture. Our tour guide Minoru was great at choosing the best locations, food stalls and making sure the teens had nice time given the heat. Thank you Minoru for a first great day in Japan!
We had a fantastic day in Tokyo ! Our guide Minoru was very knowledgeable and able to customize to meet our teens needs. We got lucky with the weather and we enjoyed seeing the best of Tokyo.
We had an amazing 4 hour private guided tour with Yuki in July. He was prompt, very courteous, knowledgeable and accommodating all through the trip. We visited 3 attractions in about 4 hours and enjoyed all of them.
Shuhei is such an excellent and flexible tour guide with a rich knowledge of all Tokyo landmarks as well as local lifestyles. As a first timer in Tokyo, I wouldn't have found myself using subway and exploring all go-to places (e.g. Hamarikyu gardens, Meiji Jingu and Shibuya crossing) if I hadn't been with him. Thank you so much, Shuhei!! I strongly recommend him to any newcomers in Tokyo, who's in fear of playing a role like Scarlett in Lost in Translation 😆.
Shuhei was our guide. He was amazing and planned an awesome day filled with wonderful places to see for our first trip to Japan. He asked about what we liked and anything that we definitely wanted to see. He adjusted as needed and went at our pace. He was very attentive to my mom since she is older and moved a little slower. It was an awesome day and grateful for the knowledge and history Shuhei was able to share with us. The place he picked for lunch was great and provided a true Japanese experience.
Our guide Shuhei was great. It was the perfect introduction to a first-time visitor to Japan to learn about the city of Tokyo, its neighborhoods and some cultural and historic sites, the transportation system, etc. Shuhei was so nice and helpful and made the tour very enjoyable.
This is exactly what you need as a very informative and fun tour at the same time, all in one day in Tokyo ! Our tour guide Sabina was very knowledgeable, kind and flexible. She showed us all the beautiful and important Tokyo landmarks you could see in 8 hours. We really enjoyed this tour.
Our guide, Shuhei, was excellent. He was very friendly and he took us to all the places we requested. It was a long day of walking, but Shuhei checked on us and made us as comfortable as possible.
We initially booked Kaz for May 25th for a full day tour of Tokyo for 4 friends. Based on the in depth planning texts we were sharing, we also booked Kaz for May 24. We had 2 very full days that were each unique and wonderfully scenic and fun. On May 25 we saw iconic temples and shrines, a cute, purposely lesser known area of Tokyo to glimpse how the locals live, and ended our jam packed day at Team Lab for an interactive electronic experience that is not to be missed! Kaz handled our schedule with aplomb, making sure we saw everything we wanted to, making sure we had as much time as we wanted at each site, and getting us to our destination timely. His work before we even saw him paid off in spades about putting in our day exactly what we wanted, most of which was suggested by Kaz. Highest recommendation from all 4 of us!
Minors-san was our guide today . He was on time, very polite & very informative. We found him excellent & I would certainly recommend him to my friends when they visit Japan
We had a wonderful time with Kahori. She is very knowledgeable and got along very well with us. Lovely lunch at Tsukiji.
Shuhei was beyond outstanding. He contacted us well in advance so that we could let him know what sites we were interested in seeing in order for him to be prepared. Not only did he make sure that we saw everything on our wish list, but he went out of his way to make sure that we experienced local sites, as well as off the beaten path sites, that we never would have thought of on our own...which turned out to be some of the most memorable highlights of our tour. The local restaurant that he took us to for lunch wasn't fancy, but the tempura shrimp that we had was delicious and cooked to perfection (and I am an extremely picky eater). The restaurant was plain and simple, but to be honest, I don't think we had any meal as delicious during the following 2 weeks that we were touring Japan. During our tour, we experienced subway transit and train transit multiple times. It blew us away to see how impeccably clean and how zero graffiti existed...anywhere! Shuhei was a fountain of information explaining anything and everything as we walked along. By the time the tour was over, we were ready to adopt him and his lovely wife (who we hadn't met but felt like we had). He's just very personable, easy to relate to, and genuinely out to please. His English is impeccable, so no worries about miscommunication. And, he even kept in touch with us afterward. The next day we experienced an earthquake followed by a tsunami alert while still in the hotel. The day before, he had mentioned how frequently they have earthquakes. I sent him a text asking if he had scheduled that just so that we had the opportunity to get the WHOLE Japan experience...LOL I would definitely, without hesitation, hire him again! (Best advice, make sure to wear super comfortable shoes because there is a lot of walking involved...but well worth it)
Shuhei & Lew were absolutely the best. What great team they are. We had a bunch of laughs and saw what seemed like 6-7 areas. I highly recommend you book with Shuhei & Lew.
This all day Tokyo tour led by Shuhei was excellent. He texted a week in advance and tailored the trip to our interests. As this was our first trip to Tokyo, we let him tailor it for an overview tour. It included all subway transfers, lunch, temple donations, and some light snacks along the way. We hit the Tsujiki market, several temples, several beautiful city parks, shops, and the shibuya crossing. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. He taught us basic Japanese phrases and customs. Overall a great introduction tour which would highly recommend.
We had Roy as our guide and he was fantastic! He is incredibly knowledgeable and had lots of information to share. He customized the itinerary to what we were looking for and overall we couldn’t have been happier with the experience!

We highly recommend this all day private tour! Tadashi and the driver made a great team. They were kind, knowledgeable, and they gave a nice overview of the sights. We travelled with family that included kids and a grandparent, so we appreciated how the trip was customizable to our needs. Tadashi thoughtfully added personal touches to the trip. Our kids enjoyed the markets with local food to taste and the mochi snacks. We were able to cover a lot in one day, and the Japanese lunch included was a highlight for the adults.
Yoshi was very kind and patient. He took us to hidden gems that we would have never discovered by ourselves. We had a great time in tokyo. So much more to discover
I did this tour with my family, including an 11-year-old and 13-year-old. Our tour guide, Shuhei, contacted me a few days before our arrival in Japan to curate our tour. Shuhei was very informed and easy to talk with. We enjoyed our tour.
Yuki was an amazing tour guide for our last stop of the cruise in Tokyo. It was our first time visiting Tokyo, and we came at the perfect time to see the cherry blossoms. Even though it was raining, we still had such a great time exploring the city and using the subway to get around. I had a few specific things I wanted to find, including Onitsuka Tiger shoes and Pokémon cards, and Yuki was incredibly helpful. He knew exactly where to go and made the experience easy and enjoyable. He was also so kind and thoughtful that he even picked up Pokémon cards for us and gifted them to us, which made the day even more memorable. Yuki was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel comfortable navigating such a large city for the first time. One day in Tokyo is definitely not enough, and we would absolutely use Yuki again the next time we come back!
Yuki is professional and friendly guide, not only guiding you through the visiting sites but also answering all the questions about Japan. So much recommended!
A great itinerary where we went to two lovely parks and castles where we saw beautiful cherry blossoms.
Hits the highlights of Tokyo if you are short on time. Best part was that our tour guide made suggestions and we got to revise them if wanted.
Tadashi was a wonderful guide. He worked with us in advance to design a very personalized itenirary, offering great suggestions for where to go. He shared helpful information about the history and culture, and was so helpful in navigating our family through the train/subway and as we made our way throughout the day. He even helped us design an itenirary for the next day for travel on our own. Thank you so much Tadashi!!
Our experience with Roy was absolutely fantastic. From start to finish, he made our day in Tokyo smooth, informative, and truly memorable. He did an excellent job guiding us through Japan’s public transportation system, which can feel overwhelming at first. Thanks to him, we felt confident navigating it on our own afterward. What really stood out was his knowledge. At every stop, he shared meaningful historical context and explained the cultural significance of what we were seeing. Even while we were traveling between locations, he continued to teach us about Japanese culture and daily life. It was a lot of information, but presented in a way that was engaging and easy to appreciate. Beyond his knowledge, Roy was incredibly kind, patient, and polite. He made us feel comfortable throughout the entire day and was a pleasure to spend time with. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
We had a great tour led by Shuhei. He is very personable and a great host. Shuhei worked with us on the agenda for setting a long tour that covered a great many sites. He also took us to a great lunch that was unique and special. Highly recommend this tour.
Superlative tour because of our most excellent English Speaking Guide Satoshi, and our driver Kool. Stress free and efficient tour to cultural, educational and natural treasures , as well as fun local sites and food experiences.
We had a fabulous day in Tokyo with our tour guide Minako. Tokyo is a huge city and very difficult to navigate without help. Minako spoke flawless English and took us to all of the locations that we had asked to see. We travelled by train, metro, taxi and walked a lot! We saw the Meiji Shrine, the Sheuya crossing and were lucky enough to see the blossom at the Imperial Palace. We would highly recommend this tour.
Minoru is a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and patient. He was able to be flexible with our tour due to traffic and time constraints. We managed to see everything we wanted and more!
We had a great experience seeing Tokyo! Guide was very friendly and knowledgable. Took us to everything we wanted to do and was extremely accommodating and helpful.
Futami was such a wonderful guide. She was so helpful and knowledgeable!! Having a guide for the day was a really good choice for us, in day 1 Tokyo. 10/10 recommend!
Nabe San was our tour guide. We couldn’t have asked for a more caring amazing guide and a human being for our day. I highly recommend this tour especially with Nabe san. A memorable day for a lifetime.
Had a great time exploring Tokyo with Minoru. Visited the Mieji Shrine, Shinjikuku and the Tsukiji Fish Market. Very enjoyable start to our trip.
