3-hr Tokyo Highlights Bike Tour: Shibuya & Harajuku – Small Group

We felt very safe and enjoyed our bike tour with Taichi around back streets and busy streets of Shibuya Tokyo.

Our guide Taichi was exceptional! He was so knowledgeable, kind, and careful to keep us all safe on the bike ride. We saw sites we would've never otherwise seen things to him. If we could have, we would have had him guide us all around Japan for the week! Highly exceptional!

This was a fabulous tour! I love exploring new cities and doing it by bike allowed us to cover a lot of ground. Taichi was very friendly, knowledgeable and enjoyed showing us his neighborhood. We learned a lot about the various areas, got a look and some history about iconic Tokyo sights. We loved it! Highly recommend Note: The bikes were decent commuter bikes with gears. There are some hills requiring shifting down. This tour is best for people who are comfortable cycling. We had zero issues navigating the tour.

Highly recommend doing this tour! Taichi was an excellent, knowledgeable, and kind guide. We covered 9-10 miles of ground with multiple stops, but did not feel rushed. Since we were the only ones in the group, he also tailored the stops in the specific location we were staying in (Shibuya crossing), and gave us a delicious lunch recommendation. It was great to have a guide who lives in the area and could give his perspective as a local. The ride was mostly flat, with a few short hills.

Fantastic, original tour through the back streets and parks as well as tourist sites of Shibuya. Tour guide was unusually articulate, thoughtful, and generous in sharing his insider's knowledge. I wish he did tours in every neighborhood of Tokyo! Thank you for an excellent afternoon.

The bike ride is really fun and gives a great snapshot of daily life in Tokyo with how many people you see in different spots! Taichi was a good guide on the bikes and enjoyable to talk to 🤗

Fantastic tour, even in the heat of late June. The wind on your face feels amazing and Tokyo is fairly flat. We covered so much more ground than we could have on foot or by bus, including adorable alleys and residential areas I absolutely loved. Great guide! He took us to his local shrine and made us experience the actual experience of living in this charming yet bustling neighborhood.

This was a very fun way to tour Japan. Our guide was amazing and I would recommend this to anyone willing to get on a non-electric bicycle. Mild riding nothing too hard, couple slight gradual uphills. We stopped for information along the way. There were restroom options if needed and the ability to grab a water as well. Great way to get the kinks out after long flights !

Taichi was an excellent guide with unlimited local knowledge and a lovely calm manner. It was lovely riding through Shibuya and surrounds absorbing all of Japan. Very interesting and pleasant day out. Highly recommend.

Travelled on 01 November 2024 This was a great afternoon tour with my sister! Our second cycle tour during our holiday in Japan. Taichi was a very knowledgeable guide. Happy to answer questions about the stops/landmarks and other aspects of Japanese culture. Plenty of stops. While you don't have to be super fit, you need to be fairly confident on a bike as you will ride on some busy roads and shared footpaths.. Quirky see through toilet blocks, parks, busy pedestrian crossings, lost art work and a famous grave site. Taichi even sent through an end of tour email (within an hour of tour completion) with a list of the areas that we visited, other places of interest to visit and his favorite spots for food, drink and ice cream. When you are unfamiliar with the area, the meeting point doesn't really stand out and we were definitely doubting ourselves as the start time got closer. I'm not sure if it's possible, but a small temporary sign 30 minutes before the tour stars would be helpful. Arrigato Taichi! (Perth, Western Australia)

Riding along the streets with Taichi was invigorating. He is friendly and knowledgeable. The road bikes are in excellent condition. It was a pleasure to ride through the roads of Tokyo to see the sites at a leisurely pace.

They cancelled the tour last minute via email, we were already there waiting. And still haven’t refunded us for the tour, we pais in full. No reply on my emails or anything at all. Now paypall is helping but still nothing..

I would absolutely recommend this tour. We had the best time riding around the city of Tokyo. Our guide Taichi was a wealth of knowledge about the city, stopping throughout the ride at various points of interest. We felt extremely safe and saw many parts of Tokyo that we would not have without going on this tour. I recommend doing it toward the beginning of your visit as it helped us better understand the city and have a better feel for the various neighborhoods and sights we wanted to visit.

A good way to see some of Toko's popular places with regular commentary from a guide. Our guide Taichi was very nice.

All the experience was great and Taichi was a great guide. Biking through the city is ver smooth and enjoyable, Taichi makes the ride even better by explaining and sharing his knowledge of the city and riding through some great interesting sites as well as the pretty well known ones. Definitely a great and different experience. Riding a bike in the city feels very safe.

Highly recommended super fun biking experience through the most populated city in the world! We got to see many neighborhoods and he gave us a rundown of the history as a local!

I feel that this tour company may be a scam. We were at the meeting point advised on our voucher ten minutes before the appointed departure time. We waited for more than an hour and the guide did not arrive. Eventually we left. We have reached out via WhatsApp and sent two emails requesting a refund for the no show and haven’t received a response. Don’t use this company.

Our guide Ikeda, took is thru some very interesting areas of Shibuya and Wards. He was very informative and flexible with our ride, we had a great morning.

Excellent relaxing trip . Went through alleyways which normal tourist would not venture stated at slightly middle class suburbs into richer alleyways behind shibuya with large bungalows . My son was elated to cycle past Shibuta crossing in his bike with all the crowd . It was an excellent experience for him since he lives Japanese culture . Bikes were giant road bikes well serviced and is immaculate condition. Taichi san for the memorable existence .

We had a wonderful experience with Tai Chi exploring many back streets, parks and hidden gems, which we would have never uncovered and experienced by ourselves. He was informative and easy to understand. He even customized the tour slightly as we had already visited Shibuya crossing. This was an outstanding bike tour which I would highly recommend.

Ikeda’s cycling tour was absolutely the best tour guide we had in Japan. We so appreciated the teaching and instructions of local bike courtesy and riding in Japan. He knew the area so well and was able to take alternative routes as needed. His awareness of us following and hand directions/signaling were remarkable. Best of all, the highlights of each area we stopped and told about were of all interests level: young, older, youth, readers, sports enthusiasts, local history and hidden gems. I was concerned about my ability since I’m a leisure/nice weather bicyclist; his route was very doable and fun. Ikeda’s bike tour is truly a hidden gem!

My wife and I had an outstanding bike tour with Taichi today!  He took us down many quiet streets, showed us many sites, and told us a lot of history about Tokyo.  We even stopped for a while and had an excellent walking tour around the Shubuya crossing area.  Taichi's English is very good, and he's very friendly and flexible.  He took us on a detour to find a shop with some food we wanted to buy.  The bicycles were great too, lightweight Giant bikes with well-tuned brakes and gears.  One of the best city bike tours I've had - very highly recommended!

Great ride with Taichi. Very glad he kept this trip when I was the only customer on a nice sunny Saturday between a bunch of cold rainy days in late February. He showed me the sights, gave me tips on riding and renting bikes in Tokyo, and help with simple Japanese phrases.

This tour was honestly incredibly fun. Taichi guides you through the some of Tokyo’s neighbourhood and gives you insights only a local would know. I hadn’t rode a bike since childhood, but Taichi puts you at ease with his great directions and maximum use of side streets. I never felt uneasy. You will not regret taking this tour.

We would highly recommend the bike tour with Taichi 太一. He was very kind and knowledgeable and ensured our safety in busy areas. He took us all around to popular places, shared his temple with us and best of all he took photos of us (even one at Shibuya Crossing) that we will be able to cherish long after the ride.

Taichi picked a great route for us combining commercial districts, parks and monumenta, and provided lot of explanations along the way. Highly recommend it as a family activity. Such a safe and pleasant ride.

Taichi was a great guide who knows Tokyo well and took me to some cool neighborhoods as well as some historic and gritty areas. The ride pace was perfect and since I was the only one on the tour, he took me to a special place (an old comedy club) since I do standup comedy on the side. The bike is not the nicest but with smaller wheels, it's quite maneuverable. If you want to go on this tour, you should be comfortable riding on roads. I never felt unsafe. Great tour and I highly recommend it!

Our guide Taichi was fantastic. Even though Tokyo is a busy city, he was able to take us around the busy districts through smaller alleys and we felt safe the entire tour. The bikes are good quality, and it was a nice way bike around Shibuya, Harajuku, Yoyogi park, and Aoyama cemebery. We are a family of four with two teenagers. Highly recommend the tour.

Communication with our guide was very easy and we met up at the agreed time with no issues. His name was Taichi and throughout the tour he explained so much about Tokyo and the places we visited. The bikes were very light and easy to ride. We felt very safe under his stewardship. Very interesting and enjoyable 3 hours. Would certainly recommend this tour

I’ve tried to do a bike tour every time in out of the country and this tour in Tokyo with Taichi was a home run. I’ve been to Tokyo over a dozen times but my buddy who came with me was a first timer so I suggested the bike tour. Such a great time! Bike life is way better than subway/taxi life! Saw so much more of the country. Taichi is a great guide.

The cycle ride with Ikeda was excellent. We cycled around several interesting neighbourhoods and parks using quiet safe roads. It really gave us an insight into modern Tokyo and how the city ticks. Highly recommended - lovely guide.

It was an amazing experience to go by bike threw different regions of Tokyo. Seeing so many different aspects. Our guide was great! He explained us so much and took enough time to answer our questions. I can highly recommend booking a tour with him!

I got to bike through Yoyogi, Harajuku, Shibuya, Minato, and Shinjuku. Biking in Tokyo is great, but I think it would take a while to learn which roads are good for biking, which the guide knows. He spoke good English and I learned a lot about the local lore and culture.

Guide left us waiting, did not show up. We called him 3 times. He finally answered to suggest a further 45 min wait. Do not book this guy

This was one of the highlights of our trip. We saw many hidden gems of Tokyo. We rode by shibuya crossing, a cemetery, local shrine with a mini Mount Fuji, and so much more. At the end of the tour our guide showed us a local ramen restaurant and helped us order. He was amazing. I highly recommend this tour.

The 12 mi bike ride was relaxing, informative, and fun! I suggest this to anyone wanting to see different parts of the city while getting to feel like a local biking on the street! It was a blast and would do it again!

A wonderful tour and delightful way to see many of the highlights and hidden corners of Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Aoyama. Taichi is relaxed, friendly, and kind -- also very mindful of safety on the Tokyo streets. The tour was excellently paced, three hours seemed about right and we explored quite a lot without feeling rushed. This is a tour where you will be on the bike most of the time, with a few brief stops along the way. Taichi obviously has a deep affection for these neighborhoods and his enthusiasm is infectious. Also excellent value for a small group tour. Highly recommended.
