Itinerary
Cycling on the bank of Suida river. It is famous for Sakura flowers in the spring time.
This temple is a part of Sensoji, founded in 595. There are many images of a “daikon (Japanese radish)”and a pouch in the temple. The daikon represents our minds trapped in deep ignorance, emanating poison of anger, but by offering a daikon to temple, that poison will be purged from our body and soul. The pouch is a symbol of treasure, and it represents the gift of prosperity in business .
Founded in 1063, this shrine is now a “Power spot”, that is popular for persons who want lovers or marriage partners. (Power Spot=Sacred place)
Parking bikes near the temple, and strolling inside it.
Japanese traditional craft candy shop. You can see how they make candies, which are so artistic.

Excellent tour. Location is easy to find, an office in a residential area, up a flight of stairs. Tour guide speaks excellent English and is very polite and has great information. Went to several temples and he explained the local customs/traditions to me. Long tour. Bike is very comfortable. 10/10. Sorry for the late review. I should have done it long ago. I really appreciate the tour and the memorable experience.
Great experience. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and super helpful. I highly recommend this tour. We had teenagers with us and our tour guide adapted to our needs.
September 2024: Our guide, Takeshi, led my husband and me through the vibrant streets of Oshiage and Asakusa, as well as along the beautiful Sumida River. The experience was truly wonderful! We also made a quick stop at some temples and shrines, where Takeshi provided insightful explanations about Japanese culture and religion, which we greatly appreciated. He took plenty of photos during the tour and shared them with us via email within just two hours. A tip for those taking the summer morning tour: don’t forget to apply a generous amount of sunblock! Takeshi also provided us with bottled water before the trip. Overall, this was a fun and memorable way to explore Tokyo. I would rate it 10/10!
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. Takeshi was a wonderful guide and explained so much to us about Japanese culture, Tokyo's history as we rode through, and the trees and flowers we saw. It was on New Years Day but he still showed up and gave us a wonderful tour. We are so grateful for the experience and for his knowledge and skills. Thank you Takeshi from Kat and Lewis!
Fantastic way of exploring and learning a little bit more about Japan. The ride through the narrow streets, visiting some of the shrines and temples while learning a little bit about them and interacting with some of the locals at the traditional and original shopping mall was all bliss and very fun. This is definitely a good start to your journey of Japan! The tour guide was also very accommodating and he also takes good pictures and teaches you about Japanese culture. Highly recommend!
As first-time visitors to Tokyo, we couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the city. Takeshi's passion for sharing his hometown with others was palpable, and it left us feeling inspired to explore even more of what Tokyo has to offer. If you're looking for a unique and immersive way to discover Tokyo, I can't recommend Takeshi's bike tour highly enough. It's the perfect blend of adventure, culture, and expert guidance—a must-do for anyone visiting the city.
We enjoyed a great private Tour with Takeshi. Visiting beautiful spots of blooming cherry blossoms, the Tokyo Skytree, different Temple and Shrine (Buddhist and Shinto). Thanks for this unforgetable adventure!
We had a wonderful time with Takeshi. The tour shows you where people live, shop and spend time. Indeed Tokyo’s backstreets.
The tour package is suitable for exploring the Skytree from various directions. The meeting location is near the station. competitive package prices. friendly tour guide.
My wife and I had a great private tour with Takeshi. We saw both a Shinto temple and Budhist temple, candy factory, and plenty of beautiful sights. Great 2 1/2 hour tour of a part of Tokyo neighborhood that we wouldn’t have seen on our own. It was also great to have the personal/local knowledge of Takeshi. We highly recommend him and the tour.
We had an amazing tour of Tokyo with Takeshii as our family’s guide. Not too strenuous of a ride, just right for recreational bike riders with our 13 and 16 year old kids. Saw a ton including 2 temple and a shrine which Takeshi took the time to educate us about (great to get a sense of the traditions associated with each). Could not recommend this tour enough. So wonderful!
A fantastic glimpse of the real Tokyo behind the neon and the crowds. This trip down neighbourhood streets showed me a side of this mega city that I would never have seen.
What an excellent way to see Tokyo! Rather than being a passive observer, the bike tour was a way to be fully engaged in the flow of the city. If we had tried to do this on our own, we would have spent all the time looking at our phones for directions and missing the view. Thank you Takeshi for your local knowledge and this amazing experience.
I can't think of a better way to spend the day than having Takeshi show us some of the smaller and larger sites- all worth seeing- in Tokyo. When there was the forecast of rain, Takeshi reached out to us to see if we wanted to change our bike tour which was incredibly thoughtful. He shared his knowledge about the city and was a wonderful tour guide. We absolutely loved spending the afternoon with him!
This was such a pleasant way to spend the day! Takeshi helped reschedule our tour due to rain, and made the experience informative and really fun. I truly cannot think of a better way to have seen the area and learn a bit about local sites. I strongly recommend his tour!
This tour around the Asakusa area of Tokyo was perfect - being on bikes gave our guide Takeshi the freedom to tailor the tour to what we were interested in. He first guided us along the Sumida River to see and take photos of the cherry blossoms before the crowds arrived, then to a secluded temple and shrine before heading back to the busy Asakusa area.
Being a “cautious adventurer”, I was apprehensive to ride a bike in such a high traffic area. Takeshi was both safe, fun and knowledgeable. Being a solo traveler it was nice that he captured a photo of me with the Skytree.
We had a great time with Takeshi san! The weather was wet and cold but the bikes were in good condition and Takeshi was also well prepared with raincoats and always made sure we were safe. Riding a bicycle through the streets of Tokyo certainly gave us a very different perspective compared to walking. Takeshi was very knowledgeable about the places we visited. We really enjoyed ourselves!
I love that the tour made me able to see different side of Tokyo rather than the typical bustling side. Takeshi was accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend it to those who want to explore something new and unique.
Great combination of exploring back roads, bridges and paved paths by bike, interesting stops with historical/cultural significance, and water/snacks. Takeshi led a safe and informative tour with understandable English--his choices of stops were varied and just what I wanted. He frequently checked on my interest/desires. Highly recommended!
The tour guide showed us around the Sumida River/Asakusa area with many interesting stops at temples, shrines and scenic views over Sumida River and the Skytree Tower. The bikes were rather small size but excellent quality and the tour guide‘s English proficiency was very good. He was very helpful in answering questions and also took many pictures of us during the tour that he sent us via email afterwards. Very recommendable!
Mr Takeshi was very kind, approachable and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the tour and I learnt so much about Tokyo. Mr Takeshi also took many amazing photos of us and emailed them soon after the tour. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Takeshi took us around Tokyo’s neighborhoods, taking us to unique places and explaining its history. It was a very pleasant tour, at a good pace. I would recommend it 100%.
Hicimos el tour por la mañana, el guía fue súper cordial e informativo. Nos llevo por lindas zonas, y lugares de interés para conocer mas Japón. Fue una forma fantástica de moverse, muchas gracias por todo! Recomendado
