This review is for the employees in that Hotel . I’m particular the once working in the business lounge . They are on another level! The attention to even the smallest details is astonishing considering they have 100’s of guests The second day one person already asked me if I wanted toasted baguette again , which isn’t even available, I special ordered it the prior day z The next day the person who remembered it wasn’t there and the chef was so busy that I didn’t wanted to bother him with my special request. 3 min later the toasted baguette showed up on my desk ….i can add 10 other examples but you get my point …the are the kindest people I ever met To the Hotel manager: give them a substantial raise, those employees are worth gold as they make the success of your Hotel !

Overall, the room cleanliness and location were good. Unfortunately, my experience at check-in was disappointing. When I approached the front desk, I was the one who greeted the staff with a smile first and informed him that I was checking in. However, he did not respond, smile, or offer a greeting in return. Instead, he appeared unwelcoming and remained silent. Perhaps I am accustomed to the friendliness and customer service standards in the United States, but during my two-week stay in Japan, I stayed at various types of accommodations, including apartment hotels, where the service was consistently warm, professional, and exceeded my expectations. While the hotel itself was comfortable, the lack of hospitality during check-in left a negative first impression.
This was once a very popular hotel for Japanese celebrities, politicians, and the Tokyo elite when it first opened. My Tokyo Aunt told me they were famous for their buffets; she had in the past visited the Westin for business meetings, etc. The clientele has changed considerably. 90% foreign with people you would most likely find at low budget hotels in Las Vegas, Texas, or New Delhi. It seemed like there were big groups of people on discounted package tours with tour busses. Several times, customers would rush into the elevator without first letting you out. Many people were talking loudly on their phones and watching videos without headphones in public spaces. One woman was picking her nose and wiping it on her jacket. Staff is about 50% foreign. Some barely speak Japanese and default to English immediately. Many cannot write in Japanese; this was clear when they would write our name our in English instead of quickly writing it out in kanji (8 letters vs 2 easy kanji). Several of the staff rush around the restaurants--it feels like an obstacle course at times, dodging staff carrying large trays of dirty dishes while they cut corners. There are many kids running around the buffet area unsupervised. One morning I saw a child cough all over the bread section of the buffet. The miso was extremely salty everyday, it was barely edible. We moved rooms part way though our stay. Our second room was about 20% larger and the bathroom was much nicer/updated. The one, very large positive--rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff were polite and professional. There are many options while visiting Tokyo. Choose wisely.
Wonderful experience. Rooms are in great shape, the views are gorgeous. The service is phenomenal, just as you would expect. Located within 5 minutes of large grocery store and convenient stores, and the train station is a 7 minute walk away. We truly enjoyed our stay here.
1) We liked the location of this hotel. It's walking distance to the Hibiya subway & JR lines, lots of restaurants and places to sit outside, relax and enjoy the weather/views. Also, Shibuya is easy to get to by subway after a couple of transfers and Ginza is about 9 subway stops away. 2) The people are very nice as well except for we had a situation where we called the front desk to ask if our room was ready and specified to please check with housekeeping to see if it had been cleaned yet and ready to move in. The person gave a generic answer of "the rooms are ready at 3pm" which we already knew. Then calls back 5 min later and says the room is actually ready. Instead of being lazy and providing a generic 3pm check in time initially, he should have specifically checked the first time and gave us the accurate answer. 3) The club lounge itself is very beautiful, but the food is meh at best, does not compare to the quality, variety and extensiveness of other Asian counterpart properties and IMO unacceptable to be serving primarily businesspeople and elite members. There are only 2 hot foods, 1-2 soups, chips/crackers/2 cheese options, nuts and desserts. None of the hot food taste like it was prepared from scratch like other Bonvoy/Westin properties we've experienced in Asia. It all taste pre-packaged and heated up. Chicken tenders are for 5-year olds not adults that pay hundreds of yen to stay at the property. The desserts tasted store bought and were mediocre. Part of the reason many elite members people stay at certain Bonvoy properties is for the comfortable beds, hotel locations, and excellent perks like fantastic chef prepared club lounge food. The club lounge non-breakfast food sucks here TBH. The hotel should be embarrassed & take note from sister properties on how to improve the food experience in the club lounge. Simply horrible. We stopped going in the evenings and paid for dinner it was so bad. 4) The breakfast buffet on the 1st floor was decent, but on the lower end in comparison. Two thumbs down during our experience: A) I dont like how they start walking to every table at 9:45am to tell diners that they close at 10:30am. They should wait until 10:15am. It's annoying because the host tells people when they arrive and now it feels like Im being rushed out the dining area telling me 45 min before it ends. Let people eat in peace. The other issue was that certain foods were gone before 10am and instead of the cooks noticing and replenishing on their own, we had to keep asking them each day to put out more items that were gone. If the buffet opens until 10:30am then all the food should be available until at least 10:20am. I understand you're trying to prevent waste, but make a small portion and keep food in the pots so people dont have to keep asking for food items during the breakfast buffet hours. Ridiculous. 5) Rooms are lovely, sizeable and beds/bedding extremely comfortable with thick quality towels and they have hand towels which is great as some hotels dont. 6) The concierge service which I used several times was absolutely great, kind and extremely helpful. As you can see from the mixed reviews, we didn't love it or hate it. Not sure if we'll come back as elite members have given other hotels higher ratings from their experience. This is a beautiful hotel, but they need to raise the bar on food quality by hiring chefs to make homemade food and offer more variety, better tasting and extensive adult food options and desserts and snacks to serve in the club lounge.
