Rooms were comfortable and clean and location is great, however, we had several issues at reception. First, we paid for breakfast but when we came down at 9:45 and asked where the breakfast room was, we were told very firmly that we were too late and that breakfast finishes at 9:30. When we looked at our breakfast tickets later, it said that breakfast finished at 10:30 with last orders at 10am. I asked for a breakfast refund on check out and was told it wouldn't be possible. I also wasn't able to lodge a complaint formally, I was just told that the receptionist would tell someone about it. I said I didn't care about the refund but wanted to complain formally to make sure it didn't happen to anyone else but I was told this was not possible. Secondly we were told we could extend our checkout time if we registered with their scheme. I wasted 30 mins trying to register on my phone, my Mums phone and the receptionists phone and it emerged that the system itself wasn't working (the button wouldn't click but everything loaded fine). We checked and it wasnt my internet but an issue with the hotels own system. Since we had spent so long doing this, I had no choice but to pay for late checkout. I feel that since it was seen that the hotels system wasn't working and I had clearly spent a long time checking, I should have been offered late checkout gratis. In addition, if I had not spent this time trying to register, we would not have 'missed' the alleged breakfast slot. Overall the staff were very helpful but it seems they are not empowered to make autonomous decisions that would improve a guests experience. This is a management issue and the fact that when I asked for a refund, the receptionist went and spoke to a manager but the manager didn't come out to speak to me personally, is what demonstrates this.

I stayed here last december and am coming back again. I recommend trying new places but I have crohns and like stability. There is a 25 hour family mart i side and a Lawson just outside. It connects directly to the shinjuku underground walking tunnel to the station to keep you out of rain during open hours. It connects to malls and shopping areas with food.
I booked this hotel quite randomly without thinking too much about it, simply because it was one of the only hotels available with two separate beds, as almost everywhere else was sold out. On the way from the airport to the hotel, I started reading the reviews and honestly became a little worried because I saw quite a lot of negative comments. But after staying here, my experience was completely different! The location is very convenient in Shinjuku, and the city view from the hotel is beautiful. The staff at the check-in counter were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the housekeeping service was also very good. I also didn’t find the room as small as some reviews made it sound. A special mention to the Vietnamese staff member who helped us at check-in — she was incredibly sweet, friendly, and welcoming. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for her name. :) We have just checked out and are now sitting on the airport bus heading home to Norway, already missing Tokyo and our stay at Shinjuku Washington Hotel. Thank you for making our last days in Tokyo so enjoyable. We would happily stay here again. Highly recommended! ❤️
We had a fantastic stay at the Shinjuku Washington Hotel! If you are looking for a hotel that offers unbeatable convenience, comfort, and an incredible location right in the heart of Tokyo's most vibrant district, this is the place to book. 📍 A Truly Unbeatable Location The location couldn't be better. It is situated in Nishi-Shinjuku, right next to the iconic Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Underground Access: One of the best features is that the hotel is directly connected to JR Shinjuku Station via an underground passageway (the One Street). It takes about an 8-minute walk, and it means you can walk to and from the world's busiest train station completely sheltered from rain, heat, or winter cold! Easy Transit: It is also just a 5-minute walk to the Tochomae Subway Station (Oedo Line), making it incredibly easy to zip over to Shibuya, Roppongi, or Tsukiji. Airport Convenience: The Airport Limousine Bus stops right at the hotel's entrance, making arrivals and departures with heavy bags completely stress-free. 💡 Standout Facts & Features Massive & Iconic: It is one of Shinjuku’s most recognizable landmarks with its unique, massive wave-like architectural design. Stunning Dining Views: The hotel features incredible onsite dining, including the Manhattan Table on the 25th floor, where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast or dinner with sweeping, panoramic views of the Tokyo skyline. Brand New Guest Lounge: They recently opened a gorgeous new guest-exclusive lounge on the 3rd floor called LOUNGE SARYO (茶寮), which features a casual touch of Japanese culture, self-service snacks, beverages, and even a matcha tea-making service. Ultimate Convenience: There is a 24-hour convenience store right inside the building, automated self-check-in/out machines that speed up the process, and helpful, multilingual staff. The rooms are typical for Tokyo—efficient and compact—but they are clean, modern, and have everything you need. For the price, location, and sheer convenience, we will absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Tokyo!
The hotel is in a convenient location, roughly a 10–15 minute walk to the nearest station, with convenience stores, marts, and plenty of food streets along the way, making it easy to grab meals or essentials anytime. The room itself was clean and functional, though quite compact. While this may be expected, the amenities felt a little underwhelming for the price paid. Laundry services require additional payment, and some facilities did not feel as comprehensive as expected. Breakfast was also fairly average and could offer more variety or better quality. Overall, a decent stay for location and convenience, but the overall value and amenities could be improved for the room rate.
