The hotel could really use some renovation and a bit of refreshing in the rooms. The rooms are quite small - we had three suitcases and it was difficult to find space to open and organize them. Our window was facing another building very close by, only about 2 meters away, so there was almost no view. The reception staff were not very friendly, and it felt a bit unusual that the reception is located on the 14th floor instead of the ground floor. On the positive side, the location is very convenient - very close to Ginza, and there is a 7/11 practically right under the hotel.

Our stay at Hotel Yaenomidori Tokyo was unfortunately the most disappointing accommodation of our three week trip throughout Japan. The hotel offers only two coin laundry machines for guests across 13 floors, creating constant competition and frustration for anyone needing to wash clothes. Guests are often forced to wait hours, and a single person can monopolize a machine for an extended period without any intervention from staff. To make matters worse, the dryers do not effectively dry clothing, resulting in even longer wait times. Despite the obvious inconvenience, staff provided little assistance or accommodation to help guests fairly access the laundry facilities. Overall, the hotel offers very little in terms of guest convenience and service, making it easily our worst stay in Japan.
Great location, nice hotel. The location is perfect, very close to Tokyo station and easy to get to by public transport or walking from the station. The hotel is next to quite a few konbinis and drugstores. Rooms are clean, modern and the hotel's lobby has a nice garden overlooking the city of Tokyo. The personnel was very friendly and they offered both the check in and check out luggage storage. They also have a nice and comprehensive amenities kit. The entrance is a bit hidden as you need to get in from what looks like a restaurant. That's also where you will have your breakfast. They serve a great Japanese breakfast set, freshly prepared and with great variety of dishes. We didn't love the sink in the bedroom as it's easier and cleaner to have it in the toilet or shower room, but it's ok. Rooms can be small for Western standards but they have plenty of space to open your luggage and even have a small sofa on the side with a small table.
I’m honestly very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The overall service throughout our trip was poor, especially considering we were travelling with a baby. One of the biggest issues was the lack of basic hospitality and consideration for families. We requested extra bottled water for my baby’s use, but the staff refused to provide any additional bottles, which was both inconvenient and upsetting. The breakfast experience was also extremely disappointing. The so-called “Western buffet” was not really a buffet at all, but more like a small à la carte set with only around three varieties available each day. Since we stayed for almost a week, the food became repetitive very quickly. To make matters worse, many items would already run out well before 10am. Honestly, if everything is limited and restricted, then please do not market it as a “buffet.” We even made the effort to come early at 7am one morning just to avoid the food running out. The menu clearly stated that bread refills were free, but when we politely asked for more bread, the waitress informed us that only one refill was allowed. This was extremely frustrating, especially since my baby is still very young and bread was one of the few things she could eat comfortably during breakfast. The restaurant service was also poor and clearly understaffed. Staff seemed overwhelmed every morning, service was slow, and the dining experience felt disorganized and stressful. Another major inconvenience was that the restroom on the ground floor restaurant level was out of order during our stay. We had to go all the way up to the 14th floor just to wash our hands, which was extremely inconvenient when travelling with a baby. The location is actually not as convenient as advertised, with at least 15 mins walk away from the station. But I wouldn’t mind that as much as compared to the bad service rendered. What surprised us most was that the hotel did not even provide baby cots, not even as a paid add-on option. For a hotel that welcomes international travellers and families, this was very disappointing. Overall, this hotel did not meet expectations in terms of hospitality, comfort, or service quality. It was definitely not child-friendly, and I would strongly advise families with young children to avoid staying here.
The location is excellent within walking distance of Tokyo Station and surrounded by plenty of great restaurants. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, especially the bed. What really stood out was the staff. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They assisted with transporting our luggage and even held our bags after checkout, which made our trip so much easier. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!
