I stayed at the Hotel New Otani Garden Tower for three days and two nights, and I was extremely satisfied with the exceptional level of service throughout my stay. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive. They always greeted guests with a smile and seemed ready to help with anything we might need. Their hospitality was one of the highlights of the hotel. What surprised me most was the sheer scale of the property. Both the guest rooms and the hotel itself felt remarkably spacious, especially considering that it is located right in the heart of Tokyo. The Japanese garden within the hotel grounds is so large and beautifully maintained that you hardly feel the need to visit a separate park. Walking through it was a wonderful experience and a great opportunity to appreciate the beauty of a traditional Japanese garden. Even the large waterfall looked surprisingly natural rather than artificial and blended beautifully into the surroundings. For breakfast, there were four restaurants to choose from. Satsuki requires an additional charge, but the quality was excellent and well worth the extra cost. The Garden Lounge, which is one of the standard breakfast options, was also impressive, with its elegant interior and beautiful views overlooking the Japanese garden. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily return to Hotel New Otani on my next visit to Tokyo. Excellent hospitality, beautiful surroundings, and a truly memorable hotel experience.

I stayed at Hotel New Otani Garden Tower and found the experience to be very average. While the hotel is clean and functional, there was nothing that stood out or made the stay memorable. For the price and reputation, I expected much more. I would not recommend this hotel to tourists. Although it is near a subway station, getting to the underground station requires quite a long walk. Once inside the hotel, the distance from the lobby to the guest room elevators and rooms is also surprisingly long, making it inconvenient. The biggest disappointment was the gym. It is one of the worst hotel gyms I have seen, with very limited equipment and an outdated setup. If fitness is important to you, this hotel is not a good choice. Another major downside is the lack of lobby staff overnight. From around 10:00 PM until 8:00 AM, there was no staff available at the lobby, which felt unwelcoming and inconvenient if assistance was needed. Overall, it was an average stay with nothing particularly special. There are many better hotels in Tokyo offering a more convenient location, better facilities, and better service for a similar price.
Our family stayed in the Garden Tower connecting rooms during our trip. Because we arrived after 10 p.m. on 7/7, we could only check in at the Main Tower. We would especially like to thank the staff member who kindly approached us and offered to help with our luggage. He kindly showed us to our room and patiently introduced the hotel, the breakfast, the room facilities, and even the beautiful garden. He went above and beyond to make sure we understood everything, and his sincerity and professionalism really touched us. Because of him, we had such a wonderful first impression of the hotel. After a long journey, his kindness made us feel truly welcome, and it became one of the most memorable parts of our stay.
A true hidden gem in the heart of Tokyo. The beautifully maintained Japanese garden at Hotel New Otani feels like a peaceful oasis surrounded by the city’s skyscrapers. Walking through the winding paths, waterfalls, bridges, and seasonal greenery was a wonderful experience, and the garden map helped highlight many interesting historical features. The waterfall is especially impressive, creating a serene atmosphere that makes it easy to forget you’re in central Tokyo. The grounds are immaculate, free to visit, and perfect for photography, a leisurely stroll, or simply relaxing. The evening illumination is also worth seeing if you have time to return after sunset. Whether you’re staying at the hotel or just visiting, this garden is a must-see destination for anyone who appreciates Japanese landscape design, history, and tranquility. Highly recommended.
This is a gorgeous hotel that is super close to the G and M lines giving you the full Tokyo experience without the chaos. The rooms are very very spacious (even by American standards), the beds are comfy, the nature views around the hotel are fantastic, and the kindness of the staff is unmatched. We felt welcome as soon as we walked in, all staff here speak excellent English, and our bags were handled so easily throughout the whole stay. We will definitely be back. There’s tons of great things to do around here without even hopping on the subway. So peaceful and so luxurious!
