I’m so glad I decided to stay at this hotel despite reading mixed reviews beforehand. The room was clean and spacious, and even the bathroom was impressively large and beautifully designed. The hotel also features a lovely garden, which feels incredible given its location right in the heart of bustling Tokyo. Getting to the station didn’t feel far at all, especially since we discovered an internal route through the hotel complex itself. Walking through the connected shops and main areas was actually enjoyable in itself. The building is a beautifully preserved piece of architecture, reflecting a time when everything was designed to feel both lavish and practical. The traditional system of valet staff, bellboys, and a concierge always present at reception and ready to help made the experience feel very welcoming—especially after a few underwhelming experiences with absent hosts in Airbnbs. It really made us appreciate hotel hospitality again. One of the best parts of staying here was the airport bus service offered by the hotel at a reasonable price. It saved us a lot of stress and money, especially travelling with eight pieces of luggage and two children. Overall, it was a smooth, comfortable, and memorable stay that exceeded expectations.

The polished hospitality of the New Otani continue to make it one of Tokyo’s most dependable luxury hotel experiences in my opinion. The highly professional and gracious staff makes the Executive House ZEN experience outstanding. Finally, Satsuki continues to deliver on exceptional breakfast experience. The foods just tastes great! Kudos to all staff involved during our stay!
I first saw the New Otani, 007 You Only Live Twice, then when I came to Japan in 1983, I made sure I stayed there. Loved it, only took me 40 years to come back and it didn't disappoint. Great service, great food, wonderful staff, the gardens are divine and so peaceful smack bang middle of Tokyo. We've been back several times past two years, Zen House is wonderful, the view out over the State House lovely. Its our must stay hotel in Tokyo, its never ever disappointed us in anyway, its one of those hotels in the world where everything feels just so right.
This is a stunning hotel/property where we had a really good time on our vacation. The entire aspect of a hotel, including restaurants, service, rooms, accessibility, garden spaces is top of the line and we will unhesitatingly stay in this hotel again on our next visit. The staff was extremely polite and kind and helped with multiple aspects of our stay. We stayed in the executive Zen rooms which have their exclusively check-in and an exclusive lounge that is pretty much functional along the entire day. The staff at the lounge was very efficient. Even though this is an older property its maintenance has been well kept and the outside garden with a small waterfall and a restaurant with the view of the waterfall are all top-notch. The property reminded us of the upkeep seen in the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas, which is also an older hotel, but maintains quality over the years. The individual rooms are very clean and well maintained with excellent turn down service. We probably got the largest chocolates we’ve ever seen when we came back to our rooms in the evening as part of the turndown service. The only thing confusing for us was that we could not find in-room dining and we tried the QR code, but it seems that only led to ordering breakfast so even though we stayed there three nights we could not figure out if in-room dining was a possibility.
Words cannot describe how amazing this place is! VIP treatment from the moment we arrived, from the personal tea service to champagne in our room. The room itself was spacious, comfy, incredibly clean and had everything we need for our stay. The view was second to none, on clear days we could see Shinjuku and Mount Fuji. If you are lucky enough to stay here, make as much use of the executive lounge as you can, some of the best food I’ve ever tasted served here, particularly the french vanilla filled pastry. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and polite and nothing was too much trouble, even when we needed to arrange luggage transfer to Kyoto outside of normal reception hours. The rest of the New Otani is wonderful too, more restaurants and shops than you can shake a stick at, and the gardens are stunning and very relaxing after a long day of exploring Tokyo. If I’m ever lucky enough to stay here again, I will be incredibly happy. Thank you!
