This site is a true glimpse into the past and the guide will take you through this outdoor museum of Dion which is, in fact, an ancient city, highlighting the different areas and their uses, the ancient statues and the theatre with its impressive acoustics. You will feel like you are taking a hike through history as you explore the area and learn about greek mythology, the 12 gods, and the centuries of civilization that have come and gone.
You will embark on a hike in the dense forest of Olympus to the Agia Kori little church and then to the nearby waterfall and the natural pools. The path is very well-preserved and the scenery there is truly breathtaking, especially during spring and autumn this trail is truly fantastic and colourful. The hike is not well-known to most visitors and definitely worth a visit. During the summertime, the natural pools are the perfect spot to take a refreshing dip and enjoy the beauty of the area. Alternatively, we can choose to hike on a longer trail at Agios Dionysios's old cave located close to Prionia in another area of the mountain.

Faced with rainy forecast guide did a great job Excellent smooth driver we were able to tour Dion before rain started and then took nature hike and saw wonderful waterfalls along the way. Found us great restaurant for lunch and even played our favorite music Brazilian jazz on the way back

It was a great experience, even though we didn't do the hike after, because it was 5 degrees and raining. Our guide was very informative and very obliging. Would do it again.
There was a little confusion meeting our tour guide at the port, but we found each other. The tour guide was new to this excursion and provided his own vehicle. The vehicle was an older model and a little run down. But the guide made up for it by providing expert guided experience of Olympus. The guide gracefully catered to our desire for a pastry stop and found the perfect place for lunch at Olympus beach. On of the best meals we had on our whole trip.
Be prepared to enjoy the beautiful nature of Mt Olympus and the history of Dion. Topped off by the stunning view of Stavros!
My experience is that when things go unexpected on a tour, either it will become quite bad, or the tour company knows how to turn it even better. Owner Akis had a family emergency. Then we had a problem with weather for our tour. Then we drove to the archaeological site to find out that the government had closed it for that day. Guide Sotiris worked with owner Akis and we made a spectacular tour all the way to Meteora, looping around Mt Olympus and the 12 gods, and enjoyed amazing and stimulating conversation with Sotiris the whole way.
