This is a transportation only tour. Our driver was very friendly though and made sure we got the directions at all our stops. We did our own Google searches on the sights we were seeing.

Itinerary
White Tower the landmark of Thessaloniki was built in the fifteenth century after the fall of Thessaloniki to the Ottomans in 1430. At its location there had been an older tower belonging to Thessaloniki’s Byzantine fortifications, where the eastern wall met the sea wall. The Tower was the eastern end of the sea wall. The White Tower is circular, with a height of 33.90 meters and a diameter of 21.70 meters. It consists of a ground (entrance) floor and six upper stories. It is built of stone, plaster, and partially of brick the battlements, the roof over the entrance and the ground floor and the staircase vault are built exclusively of brick.
The monument of Alexander the Great is located in one of the most popular areas of Thessaloniki, in Nea Paralia right by the sea,It is an impressive, six meters (20 ft.) tall monument that represents Alexander while riding his horse “Voukefalas” (Bucephalus), one of the most famous actual horses of antiquity.
The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki is one of the largest museums in Greece and the central museum of northern Greece. Ιt has been housed in a building, designed by architect Patroklos Karantinos since 1962 and it has been designated as a listed monument of modern heritage, as it is one of the most representative examples of architectural modernism in Greece. Its collections include artifacts and assemblages from excavations conducted since 1912 by the Greek Antiquities Service throughout Macedonia.
The Arch of Galerius early 4th-century AD monument in the city of Thessalonika as an outstanding example of early Byzantine art and architecture
The Rotunda of St. George is located just north of the junction of the two main axes of the city where the Arch of Galerius can be found. It is now one of the 15 Paleochristian and Byzantine Monuments of Thessaloniki that were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988. The name Rotunda came from its round shape. It is one of the oldest and more impressive monuments in Thessaloniki. It was built in the first years of Roman tetrarchy, when Caesar Galerius (250-311 AD) was based in Thessaloniki. It was part of the imperial complex, probably in one theory built as Galerius’ mausoleum, but was never used
The Ancient Forum, the administrative centre of ancient Thessaloniki, occupied an area about two hectares in the heart of the city. Its construction began at the end of the 2nd century A.D. on the site of an older forum dating from early Imperial times.
The Church of Saint Demetrius, or Hagios Demetrios is the main sanctuary dedicated to Saint Demetrius, the patron saint of Thessaloniki
The Trigoniou Tower is the most famous and impressive tower of the wall. It was built in the late 15th century to prevent an invasion of the city It is also called "the balcony of Thessaloniki", you’ll have the chance to enjoy the magnificent and imposing panoramic image of the city hugging the sea. On a clear day you’ll be able to see Olympus Mountain located 150km away, without any difficulty.
Tsinari, part of the Ano Poli (Upper City), took its name from "cinar" Turkish for plane tree. The profile of the distict is still alive due to the preservation of the old urban plan and the significant number of listid buildings present in the area.
Aristotelous Square is the main city square of Thessaloniki, Greece and is located on Nikis avenue (on the city's waterfront), in the city center. It was designed by French architect Ernest Hébrard in 1918, but most of the square was built in the 1950s. Many buildings surrounding the central square have since been renovated and its northern parts were largely restored in the 2000s.

Our exploring Thessaloniki tour combined with extraordinary guide & driver (Giorgia is the name!) proved to be an organized itinerary. This was a superb tour... beautifully crafted, taking us through the long history of the city and travelling within us! Highly recommended! I cannot thank them enough.
Georgia was exceptional as our driver! She was very friendly and recommended the best route and sights for us to do. We had plenty of self exploration time at each stop. Loved it!
This was a great way to see the city at our own pace. The driver took us to all the iconic stops and gave us plenty of time to explore.
This was a whirlwind tour, but Chris let me arrange it how I wanted so that I got most of the tough walking out of the way first. He was very helpful and aware of my limitations as I was using a walker due to a recent knee injury. Chris was also very helpful, friendly and made some great suggestions. Overall the day was very interesting and informative and I loved my time exploring what Thessaloniki has to offer.
Georgia was punctual and friendly. She made great suggestions on what to see and was thoughtful in asking how long we wanted to spend at each location. She also invited us to add any other areas we wanted to visit. She gave clear directions on where to meet her after we were finished with each location. The time frame was perfect for this tour and gave us lots of time after to explore on our own.
We spent 4 hours sightseeing in Thessaloniki. It was a very good morning with a safe, friendly driver. Our driver was prompt to meet us on time at the port, and the tour was enjoyable.
Our local tour guide was very nice, but he simply drove us from stop to stop…more of a private driver than a tour guide. As with past experiences with Viator, we were expecting him to give us some basic information about the city and various stops as we went along.
Akis was our driver. He gave us a piece of paper with a small description of each sight and an estimated length of time to stay at each sight. He was a driver and not a tour guide which was clear when I booked it with Viator. He was very friendly and flexible. We did not stay at the first sights as long as recommended so he recommended some other things including a stop at a cafe with an amazing view. We enjoyed our day very much.
Driver was very nice and patient. we had very bad experiences with washroom. be prepared, only the museum has access to washroom.
Thank you for your service. The car is also very clean. I will book with you again if I have the opportunity to come back!
Vasiliy was on time and a very knowledgeable man on the area. He tailored our tour based on what we wanted to see. He took us to a small cafe overlooking the water. We had a fantastic day and would definitely recommend him. He also got me to drink Greek coffee, it was delicious.
We saw most of the attractions! Better than the cruise ship's offer at a much cheaper price! Thank you! The only thing we complained about was no bottle of water, which was listed as included.
Kiriakos was a wonderful tour guide and kept our day in Thessaloniki casual and fun! He was very knowledgeable about the city and its history. A seamless and enjoyable experience! Our party of 6 highly recommends Viator and especially Kiriakos!!
Helen was a great tour guide. She was knowledgeable and funny, making the most out of the time we had
Very well planned out tour, with a kind driver. Of note, he wasn't a tour guide, but he took us to where we needed to go. We appreciated the guidance.
The museum was fantastic! This is mainly, and they communicate it as so, a transfer in and around Thessaloniki to see the highlights. Georgia was super kind and easy to work with. She gave us plenty of time at each place and was super flexible. The forum was closed, but not her fault. Was definitely an easy way to get around with a group that had both a 7 y/o and two 71 y/o’s.
The fort and white tower and museum we enjoyed the most. Our guide was born and raised in the town but claimed she didnt know much about the history as much as we would have liked. She was patient with my health concerns.
The driver was prompt and pleasant. He had a printed list of sights with descriptions that we were visiting. He is not a travel guide, only a driver. He was accommodating when we requested a change in itinerary.
One great experience from a driver who knew where to take us! Great History & Great Views Very Experienced
Our driver, Johnny, was excellent. He took us to all the important sites in Thessaloniki and allowed us ample time to visit each site. Pick up at the port was convenient. Unfortunately on the day we visited all of the museums were closed but we were informed about that by the tour operator and still enjoyed the tour.
