Discover Nevado del Ruiz and learn more about the beautiful Colombian culture! The ecosystem is very beautiful at this place!
Guide don't speak basic english and don't give a lot of unknown information. You don't hike at the mountain.
We had a wonderfull trip to Nevado del Ruiz. Tatiana was our guide and she was well informed and told us everything we wanted to know. It was a great experiance
One of a kind experience: going to this height is challenging, but you only walk a few hundred meters. It seems too little, but trust me, you will faint hard! Nice view, volcanic ashes and panorama as well. The hot spring is not very fancy, but not crowded. We were late and the guide accepted to wait us for the time needed. Big thumbs up for them!
We’ve had an amazing time with this tour. Our guide Gabriel has given us an amazing tour and experience. Great food. Just everything that we’ve expected!! It’s an absolute recommendation!!
Tour very interesting ! Good guide ! Chances to see the summit are slim ! Fog and rain at the highest level! BEWARE! I booked my tour the day before ! When I talked to other people I realized that I paid twice as much with trip advisor!
The tour provide a smorgasbord of natural experiences in the parque national de nevada, hotel pickups, mealstops and spa recharge. Our friendly bilingual guide complemented this with interesting background on history and geography that helped my Spanish. Good for people like me for whom a multiday excursión wasn't an option.
This was a fantastic tour, and a wonderful way to experience the PNN Los Nevados. Our guide, Angelica, was very knowledgeable about the geology and history of the park and Nevado Ruiz. The tour was on time, and a decent breakfast and lunch was provided by a local roadside restaurant. The park is certainly work seeing, as it is drastically different from other landscapes in Colombia. The thermal baths in the afternoon were a nice way to relax and enjoy some warmth after a cold morning in high elevations. A warning for those that are prone to altitude sickness: you reach nearly 14,000 feet during the tour. Highly recommend this tour.
It was an enjoyable trip and beyond expectation and also the time was very wonderful and I thank the guide Jettver for everything we are very happy with the trip
The company who took me to the place was very kind. The driver and the bilingual tour guide were amazing. Everything was according to the app description. I highly recommend them!
Great experience, magical place. The experience with the food was superb. The landscapes is out of this world. Going up the mountain and you can experience the changes in the environment meter to meter. And then you finish on the thermal waters is just the perfect combination between cold and hot.
We were picked up at our Manizales hotel at six in the morning and the day was really great. We stopped for breakfast at a small place next to the lagoon and we were back there for lunch a couple of hours later after seeing the park, including some of the landscapes. After lunch we went down to the thermal spa, which was really nice and relaxing, the tour guide was fantastic. Would totally recommend this tour.
Truly enjoyed this tour! Breiner spoke perfect English, was extremely knowledgeable and was kind enough to take lots of pictures for me (I was travelling solo). The thermal spa was the perfect way to end the day. I recommend bringing waterproof shoes/boots :)
It really does not matter at all who you go with. All the tours offer the same package, which is basically driving you to the National park and the termales. Once at the Park, a ranger takes over. At the termales, just enjoy yourself. So just select the best offer.
The tour guide was fantastic. Her English wasnt perfect but she was very knowledgeable. Me and my friend were fans of her. But the operator is terrible. On the way down from the mountain. Our driver stopped for 15 minutes to make a call. As it turned out the company had double booked. So he would drop us to the hot springs and return to Manizales Then we spent an hour driving to the springs, to find out the springs had been closed, the tour company had never thought to inform our guide. They then tried to offer us back 50,000 pesos (10€) or the 2,000,000 pesos (200€) we paid, when half the tour had been cancelled. Then on the way back, since our driver had been double booked, we were left at the terminale instead of our hotel and told to get a taxi. For an expensive tour, the service we receieved was extremely poor. Instead of booking this tour, I'd recommend going to the hot springs by yourself, and finding an independent tour guide if you want to go to the volcano. For how much money it was, we expected a far better level of service. For how much money it was, we also wanted more spectacle. The only reason this isn't 1 star is because our guide was good.
Angie was a joy and a great guide - informative and funny. The sights were incredible and a fantastic day out. Was a shame not to climb to the crater but rules are rules! Jhon was one of the safer drivers we’ve had in Colombia - felt secure on the mountain tracks Thank you both for a memorable experience
Great opportunity to experience PNN Los Nevados, meals and other details were well planned out, very pleasant to end at Termales de Otono, tour company did a great job communicating and responding to emails and WhatsApp
I was lucky to pick on of the clearest days. That sure made the experience so much better. Who wants to go to that altitude to look at clouds not me. The driver and guide were second to none. The meals were delicious. So lucky to have been able to get this done with clear skies. I would not have changed this experience for anything.
The park was beautiful and the Hot Springs were great, however our guide spoke very little English which made it difficult. There was a 30 minute presentation at the Park entrance which we got nothing from because it was all in Spanish. Very difficult to ask any questions. She was very nice and sweet, but just didn't speak much English. We specifically signed up for an English guide. This trip was not cheap and we expected what we paid for. Other issue was it was a smaller vehicle and had 3 people squished in the back seat. Very uncomfortable.
We had a very good time. Valentina our tour guide and John, were excellent, knowledgeable and made us feel more like friends, will book again with them. Thumbs up👍👍
This was a great tour. It seemed a little expensive when I booked, but I didn't realise it was a private tour just for me! So then it made good sense. Here's the breakdown: 1. I was picked up near my accommodation and then we drove straight to a cool restaurant with a great view of the Andes for the included breakfast 2. After some more very scenic driving we arrived at "Parque Nacional Natural Los Nevados" after which there was a brief explanation about the park and the nature. We then had a specialised guide join us, and made the very short drive up to... 3. The volcano Nevado del Ruiz and surrounding areas. The day was clear and it was pretty amazing. Kind of what you'd imagine being on the surface of the moon could be like - there is actually a part of the park called the lunar valleys ("Valles Lunares"). We took some cool photos here and learned more about the park and volcano... it was smoking the whole time. NOTE since 2010 you can't actually go up past a certain point, but you can still see everything from just below, and it's cool 4. We drove back to the same restaurant we had breakfast in for the included lunch 5. We drove to the hot springs. The actual location was "Termales el Otono." It is a nice kind or resort built around man made pools which channel the natural hot spring water. Apparently wealthy Colombians often stay here. When we arrived it was a Tuesday, and there was not a single other person there bar the staff, so that was cool. It also has beautiful views up to the surrounding jungly mountains - nice to take in while you're soaking up the mineral filled water Summary: A great tour, lots included, and amongst many other highlights, great for photos like you're on the moon Bring: - Sunscreen - Sunglasses - Bathing suits AND towels (otherwise the resort will charge around COP10,000 to use them) - COP 28,000 cash for the park fee (not included) Shoutouts: - Valentina - great English speaking tour guide. Thanks again! - Jessica - The very friendly and informative Park guide
Please note: The agency subcontracts the guides or people who will carry out the transportation, therefore, they are not part of the agency itself. Positive: + The guide subcontracted by the agency (in our case, Mauritius) excellent. Very good explanations, friendly and clarified doubts we had during the tour. I stress that the guide is NOT part of the agency. Negative: - The price (relatively high) The agency informed us of the wrong license plate and guide. This can lead to awkward moments, as happened to us by ignoring Mauritius for a few minutes before resolving the misunderstanding. The agency was unaware that the Fall Thermals were closed, and we had to go to the Earth Living Thermals (which are cheaper). Still, there was no discount on the price. Generates: Very good tour, very interesting and if you are lucky with the guide, excellent. Agency mistakes, while minor, are best taken into account.
Excellent place, the landscapes are really amazing
This experience was wonderful. I saw things I had never seen before and learned a lot about our stops and bodies of water. The landscape is off this planet. The guides were excellent! And Guillermo our driver was super attentive, friendly, we made several stops for photos and always willing! Loved it.
Excellent experience. On time and complied with the offer. Excellent service and attention. The very friendly, attentive and caring driver of the group. Recommended.
Good content information from Jenny. The driver drove safely and responsibly. Better: the vehicle was rather unsuitable for a sightseeing tour. The windows are very dark and very low. In order to see something, you have to bend over constantly, it gets on your back at some point. Medical advice would be good in advance: it goes very high at over 4000m.
A must-see if you are traveling along the coffee grove. We did it with an agency called Cattleya and we were very happy. Guillermo took us a nice and knowledgeable uncle from the area. The best price we found, because we travel for 54 days and we have to manage everything we do very well. Once you arrive at the National Park you are given a talk where one of the guides of the park explains many things of interest. Then at each stop we made other guides they explain each ecosystem you see. No problem with altitude 4450 mslm. We have 65 compliments.
Everything went perfectly. The journey was fantastic. Even before the start of the trip there was excellent communication with the guide at all times. Every question was answered without delay via Whatsapp. I was picked up at the hotel as planned. She spoke very good English and had a competent answer to every question during the trip. We had 4 short stops while we could observe fascinating landscapes and vegetation in peace.
First of all, on behalf of our family, we want to thank driver Guillermo, for the kindness, attention and diligence throughout the day of the tour. Regarding the tour, 100% recommended, excellent, the scenery of the journey, phenomenal and breakfast and lunch very good. Thank you so much for everything
Very good experience, nice scenery, good adventure, good breakfast, regular lunch. Unfortunately the guide Jennifer did not speak to us the first half hour, it started just when I claimed. Then he took pains and gave us all sorts of information willingly
Great day with Jennifer our Guide who introduced us to the park of los Nevados. She gave us lots of information about the fauna and flora and volcano related to the place. The scenery during the whole drive was beautiful. Breakfast and lunch were done in a very warm place. Finally, the hot springs were a well-deserved little bubble of relaxation!
Fue una experiencia genial! Nuestra guia Jennifer era muy simpatica y nos ayudaba y contaba mucho. Nos encantó el paisaje y la naturaleza y las thermales eran estupendas!
Santiago is a very professional guide with whom we climb the altitude levels in complete safety. The scenery throughout the journey is spectacular. Lunch and meals took place in a very warm place. The afternoon was spent at the Otono springs. Very relaxing
Excellent tour!!! The views of the Nevado som spectacular. It's a must if you're in the coffee area. The attention and friendliness of the staff is remarkable. Harold, the driver, was attentive to what we needed and his recommendations were very helpful. The guides inside Los Nevados Park are also very good, they know a lot about the park its fauna, and its history. The only thing I should mention is that it is not a walk, and you reach the summit (not the perpetual mieves). The whole tour is by car, and you can only see snow in the Valley of Tombs, if there is "bad" weather (but there will be little visibility). If the day is clear and sunny, as it was my turn, you can see very beautiful landscapes. But probably, there won't be snow. But, these are park rules, nothing to do with the tour.
A great experience, I booked the tour and it was my turn to share with 2 more people and Alejandro (from Cattleya), the whole tour was very pleasant, both the company of the others and the beautiful views of the snowy and the journey through the moor. Our first stop was a small (rather tasty) breakfast where we took the opportunity to also have some coca tea, then we continued the ascent to a position of the Ministry of Mood where we took an induction before entering the park. Already once in the park we made stops at several stations where a guide of the MINAMBIENTE told us a little history as well as information of what we were seeing at the time, in each place they gave us a few minutes for photos and explore a little. At the end of the snowy tour we descended for lunch and then headed to the autumn thermals, not without making a stop as we had asked Alejandro that we wanted to see a waterfall more closely that we could see in the distance as we ascended. In the autumn thermals we enjoyed about 1 hour 30 mins, so we closed the day and took each one to our lodgings.
We only went to Autumn Thermals....pretty good and much more intimate than Santa Rosa. The price is cheaper and there are not so many people. The scenery is more beautiful in Santa Rosa...but the Autumn hot springs are very good quality. Recommended 100%....there are better lunches than Santa Rosa.
A Total Adventure, we leave at about 4:30 am we arrive at camp 1 at about 7 am, halli we have breakfast and then we continue to where the park guide gives us access, roads 5 hours approximately until we hit snow. An unforgettable experience
Good attention, I suggest giving water and salt food, not just sweet. Warning beforehand that snow may not be seen due to weather conditions
It is a trip that allows us to know the magnitude of the mountain, allows to pass almost all the thermal floors if you leave Honda or Mariquita, the tracks are in good condition, except the tracks in the Nevado, which are uncovered, but are reelable without difficulty, it is not allowed to enter walking, by bike, motorbike or quadricycle, neither children under 6, nor matters over 70, the snow is shocking, the landscape and the feeling of height if taken calmly is to enjoy it, back the bath of hot springs is comforting and relaxing.
I have been to the snow several times and it is always charming, unfortunately in recent times it has not been possible to ascend until the 5000 meters that I have seen snow cover, however, going to the valley to create 4 thousand meters and being able to finish the day in thermals is wonderful
