Itinerary
Join us for a day tour, as we travel to Waco, Texas for a little Magnolia Market magnificence and some HGTV's Fixer Upper fun! Start your day heading south on I-35 towards the famous Magnolia Market at the Silos! We also visit Magnolia Table and Magnolia Press Coffee Shop. During the drive, your Tour Guide will entertain you with interesting stories of the history of Texas. We will arrive in Waco, Texas before you know it! There's something for everyone at Magnolia Market at the Silos. Shopping, games, the garden and even a bite to eat. Treat Yourself to Silos Baking Co., the on-site bakery filled with Joanna's personal recipes. Stop by the Garden; Joanna's vision was that the garden would be a space where the family can explore together and learn the lessons of the garden. Visit Magnolia Seed & Supply. This little shop sells gardening tools and supplies. Relax on the Lawn….On the big green lawn at the center of the property, enjoy the big box full of games. Most every sunny day, the lawn is covered up with parents and kiddos playing corn-hole, having potato sack races and throwing the football around. The lawn games make this more than a place to shop, but also a place to play and enjoy time with family and friends, have a picnic in the shade or grab a bite to eat at the Food Trucks. Visit Jimmy Don’s 36-foot-long trailer in the [Magnolia] parking lot. An estimated 400 people a day drift over from Magnolia Market to browse and take selfies with him. A short drive from Magnolia Market at the Silos is the Magnolia Table. As time and availability permits, enjoy a meal (not included) with your friends and family or pick something up to-go.
Visit Jimmy Don’s JDH Iron Designs, cute shop; specializing in custom metal art designs from wall art and home decor to custom projects & everything in between. An estimated 400 people a day drift over from Magnolia Market. Jimmy Don is often on site and guests love to meet him and take photos.
Visit the Castle Heights neighborhood to see Cottonland Castle. Chip and Jo just completed the renovation of a century-old castle in the heart of Waco. Stop by for photos.
Stop by Magnolia Table, Chip and Jo's popular restaurant for breakfast or lunch, (reservation required) specializing in fresh, homegrown ingredients and good, old-fashioned cooking. Visit The Table's Gift Shop to pick up a memory of your visit.
Take a peek in Hotel 1928, Chip and Joanna's recently renovated luxury boutique hotel; originally designed in the style of an early twentieth-century Moorish Revival lodge.
Stop by one of the most iconic HGTV Fixer Upper properties, nestled in the heart of Waco.
Situated in Indian Spring Park along the base of the Waco Suspension Bridge, the Branding the Brazos public art sculpture paints a vibrant picture of Waco’s early history. The sculpture, which features three bronze cowboys on horseback and 25 bronze cattle, depicts a Chisholm Trail cattle drive.
Waco’s Historic Suspension Bridge was the longest single-span suspension bridge west of the Mississippi when it was completed in 1870. The bridge was built with cable supplied by the John Roebling Co., who built the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. Crucial to traders, cattle drives and travelers for well over a century, the bridge stands as an icon of Waco history. In 2008, the first pieces of the “Branding the Brazos” sculptures made their debut next to the bridge. The towering Chisholm Trail sculptures, crafted by Robert Summers, include an over-sized, bronze trail boss driving Longhorns crossing the Brazos.

My husband loved the history of the place. Their Weck jars were very reasonably priced. Their flowers were gorgeous but too expensive. My lower rating is due to the high prices of everything. That said, there is certainly a lot to do with children and lots of food trucks to choose from. Definitely worth a visit.
Very friendly and informative throughout the drive. Enjoyed Waco and the Magnolia tour. Highly recommend this tour.
Magnolia Silos exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how thoughtfully everything has been designed—the layout flows beautifully, the shops are unique and inviting, and the entire property feels both inspiring and welcoming. Eli was fantastic and truly elevated the experience. He went above and beyond by taking us through all aspects of the property, including Chip’s office, where we were able to see a museum-style collection of memorabilia that tells the story behind the brand. That behind-the-scenes access made the visit feel even more special and memorable. What stood out most was the bigger impact this place has on Waco, Texas. It’s not just a destination—it’s a vibrant hub that brings energy, creativity, and community together in a meaningful way. You can feel the pride and vision behind every corner. Highly recommend visiting if you want to experience something both uplifting and well-crafted.
We visited the Waco Magnolia Market at the Silos. We did not go on the tour, just walked around on our own and had lunch and shopped
Great place to visit! The story behind the silos and the church are amazing. We are not big shoppers but it was great to see what has been done with the place and lots of people there enjoying the shops, food trucks and grounds.
We had a wonderful day exploring with Rebecca. We appreciated the stories and local colour. She took excellent care of the two of us and went out of her way to show us a couple of extra places based on our interests. We truly appreciated her thoughtful gesture of dropping us off for a wonderful recommended supper. We loved everything about the day and would book with Rebecca again.
We had a fantastic experience. From all the history and story behind Dallas as we left to Waco Texas and how it all happened for Chip and Jo.
Liz and Don our tour guides, made this tour exceptional. It was fun and so informative. A beautiful drive too by the zoo and river! Really a highlight of our visit to Waco. This tour is a must and ask for these two amazing guides!
As it was our first time to Texas, my husband and I were looking for a tour to Waco to see the Magnolia Silo’s. Rebecca was our driver in a private vehicle. Just the 3 of us. The entire day was wonderful. The ride from Dallas to Waco was filled with information about Texas. The history, the side stories of what went on and what is still happening. Rebecca was a wealth of information. And she loves her state of Texas. The arrival at Waco after an easy drive was exciting. We saw everything we could. The Silo’s, the ball field, the Chapel, the restaurant, the Castle and several renovated homes and even got to meet JimmyDon in the place of business. We shopped a bit, ate at the food truck area and sat and had a coffee from the coffee shop. On the way back, we made a stop at the Texas Rangers Museum which was a great reflection about the days of the elite Police force of that era. The day was perfect. Exactly what we wanted to do and see. I highly recommend this tour as it was so much more than just Waco. It was about Texas!!
This tour was one of the best we have done. Our host Erin was amazing, friendly, knowledgable. The silos tour was awesome. A huge thanks to Erin and Rebecca for making things easy, completing dining reservations for us, taking endless photos and giving us all the time we needed to cover all the things to do throughout the tour. We will definitely be using Discover Dallas tours again in the future.
The magnolia markets and the hotel 1928! The trip is very good overall We thot our guide, Rebecca was fantastic
GUYS GUIDE: - Plan on Street Parking & walking. Surprise her by dropping her off at the NE corner by the Bakery. Limited small lots nearby, some charge $10. - Cruise thru some of the shops. Look for the awesome man-sized Demo Day hammers. - Grab the kids or some guys and play whiffle ball on the turf ball diamond ala "Sandlot". BYO equipment or buy them in the #16 Shop. - Cornhole is another active option. - Ample room for tossing football on the turf. - #16 Shop has great guy merchandise ranging from vintage looking sports balls, man care toiletries, games, to awesome leather goods. - They serve good black coffee and Boylan root beer. Food trucks offer tacos, grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken and waffles. - Or relax under awnings, porches, trees, or by the outdoor fireplace.
What a smart move to reserve Discover Dallas Tour Company! Our guide, Rebecca, was a wealth of knowledge. She has so many interesting sites and stories to share. I wouldn't hesitate to book any of their tours. We will definitely be back in the Dallas area for more!
What a treat for us! Rebecca, our tour guide, had so much information to share. We really enjoyed ourselves! I would highly recommend calling them to schedule any to her.
My wife and I had a wonderful tour of Waco and Magnolia Market at the Silos, with Rebecca as our friendly and very informative guide! I highly recommend this fun and delightful day! We had a great lunch at the Magnolia Table restaurant. Later we enjoyed super delicious cupcakes at the Silos Baking company! We got to meet a very nice man named Jimmy Don, who was on Fixer Upper quite often! All in all, we loved our visit to Waco, and would recommend this tour to everyone!
Such a wonderful place to visit! Great vibes, great shops, and great food:) Cupcakes to die for and shops that will make you swoon.
We stopped by for just a few minutes on our way from Dallas to San Antonio. The market was clean and designed for family fun. I loved the whiffle ball field! There were many food trucks available and the garden was amazing. Be sure to visit the Bakery!
We had a fantastic day with our guide Erin! We had private tour. She took such good care of us, and we got to see several of the fixer upper houses. I think our favorite part of the day was the food. We got to dine at Magnolia Table and grab a cupcake to go from the Silos Bakery. Shopping at the Silos was a blast and we got so many great photos while on the property. Erin gave us a lot of history about Dallas, Waco, and some great behind the scenes info about Fixer Upper. I highly recommend this tour and would definitely seek their services again while staying in Dallas.
All I knew about the Silos was from watching Chip & Joanna on TV. What a fun time! Very family-oriented. Clean, hdcp accessible, pet-friendly, no smoking, clean bathrooms, plentiful shopping (pricey), and food trucks galore. We ate from the Grilled Cheese truck and had a Sweet Tea jar. It was great fun.
My partner and I had a fantastic day on our private tour with Rebecca to Waco & Magnolia Market at the Silos. Booking the tour from Australia prior to our trip was a breeze and Rebecca sent us pick up information and her contact details a few days before our tour. She even made us a booking at Magnolia Table months in advance so we didn't miss out. We were picked up by Rebecca in her incredibly clean and comfortable Lexus SUV right on time, and she kept us entertained for the 90 minute drive to Waco with her knowledge about Dallas, Waco and the Magnolia Silos. Rebecca drove us around Waco, showing us The Castle, some of the houses from Fixer Upper and the main sights of Waco that were recognisable from the show. We had breakfast at Magnolia Table and wandered through the grounds and gift store, before stopping in at Harp Design Co and JDH Iron Designs where we had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy Don. Of course the highlight of our day was visiting Magnolia Market at the Silos. Rebecca shared my excitement at finally visiting the place that had been on my bucket list for many years, and was incredibly patient with me as I constantly stopped to take photos and videos. We spent a few hours walking the grounds, browsing the Shops at the Silos, Magnolia Market and Magnolia Home, checking out all of the buildings and spaces around the Silos, and of course stopping for a cupcake from the Silos Baking Co. Rebecca was a wonderful tour guide who we hit it off with from the second we met. This made our day so much more enjoyable, and we would absolutely recommend this tour to anybody wanting to visit Waco & Magnolia Market at the Silos from Dallas. We can't wait to return and do this tour again!
The actual silos are impressive as is the area created by Chip and Joanna On our visit it wasn’t too busy but we got there fairly early and before it got too hot The church to me was the most impressive, and atmosphere, and a brilliant addition to this site There are plenty of little shops and trucks selling food I love the store selling soaps etc. the bee design honey soaps are lovely The cup cake shop is very popular and runs out very quickly so arrive early to avoid disappointment The only improvement is the free bus as not one member of staff could tell us where to catch the bus or even tell us the location of the bus stop. It is not sign posted so we just took a gambit and hailed down the bus
Everything was perfect! Our guide Erin was very knowledgeable, courteous, professional and fun! The vehicle was very comfortable and clean.
visited the Silos and happily supported Chip and Joanne, clearly this whole project is a work of love and has elements conducive to relaxing , enjoying food , goodies , decor and just plain outdoor fun. Several public restrooms , clearly marked. Awesome friendly service, easy to use payment systems . We're thinking the Gaines' could teach classes in how to do retail right! we are travelling with little pup and he was clearly welcome. also loved the variety of food truck offerings surrounding the courtyard .
We had so much fun at the Silos!! I didn't realize there were so many little stores to explore along with the coffee shop and bakery. There are several things for kids to do which is a great idea! All the employees are so nice and work hard to make you feel welcome. I loved every minute of it!! Chip and Jo have really thought out everything there. A great time!!
This is one of the best tours I’ve been on. It was a gift so I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was great. We heard a lot of interesting facts throughout the whole drive down and back plus while in Waco. Erin is fantastic and if you’re looking to book a tour with this company, request her. It was also nice to be on a tour where you didn’t feel rushed to look at everything and take it all in. Erin makes sure you get some good photos that you can later share too. The experience was like spending time with a friend! When I go back to Dallas, I will have to see about booking another adventure!
We were pleasantly surprised to see that is wasn’t overcrowded. There were several gathering places, a lot of which weren’t even being used. There were several trucks offering food, drinks, Sno cones etc.
Nice shops and bakery on grounds. It was nice to see the local history saved and not torn down. There was a lot of activities for the kids large and small.
It was a fun experience, but there's not much to do in Waco. However, I got the Magnolia t-shirt, so I guess it was worth it. This is a great place to bring a picnic and hang out. Disappointed we didn't get to see any of the Gaines family. Also for note, we were not part of a tour group.
Great family company who were so flexible, knowledgeable, and helpful in planning a trip for our large group to Dallas.
Erin was a great guide! They picked us up at our hotel and brought us back to the hotel after the trip in a black Lexus SUV. It was clean and roomy. She knew all the fun details you wanna hear. If you’re thinking about it.. just do it. It
This was a way bigger property venue than I thought. With lots of things to see and do there. So glad I got to go see it and made the trip to Waco, TX. It was crowded tho and we went on a weekday. It is very clean there and friendly staff as well. We did not go inside the bakery as the line was really long. Also the Magnolia Market was really busy in there as well so we just peeked our heads in to look. If you love Chip and Joanne Gaines you need to go see the Silos! Very pretty!
We had a blast with Rebecca on this tour of Waco!! Highly recommend! She really knows her stuff!! We learned and saw so much more than we would have on our own! Nice and relaxing too!
Wow what an awesome tour by Rebecca and Discover Dallas Tours. We learned and saw so much more than we ever could on our own. Highlight of our girls trip for sure.
Erin was my guide for the day and I was nervous about being on my own. It would be a long day if we didn't 'click'. I had no reason to worry. Erin, while professional and courteous was also warm, friendly and personable. Erin was my tour BFF by the end of the day. Erin is knowledgeable and shares her information like it's fresh and new. Erin was a great dining companion and shopping friend. I would do this trip again or another of their tours if/when I travel to Texas again. Thanks Erin for making my birthday gift exceptional. Come visit me when you make it to Australia
This was an awesome day!! I loved the experience!! Erin was absolutely the best tour guide ever!! She was very knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to make my experience memorable!!
We (my 2 sisters-in-law and I) had just the very BEST time. it was so easy to connect with Rebecca to set up our tour. Rebecca was our tour guide and she was super; she bonded with us immediately and we had so much fun. She knows the history of the area and she kept up a stream of information that gave us so much more than we ever expected of our tour. For anyone who is considering visiting Waco, I would strongly recommend Discover Dallas Tours, you will be very, very satisfied. Thank you again Rebecca for a fun and memorable day.
My husband and I took a day tour to Waco and the Magnolia Market with Discover Dallas. Erin Brown was our tour guide and she is phenomenal. She drove us out to Waco, got us a table at Magnolia Table restaurant, which I am told can be very hard to do, and took us everywhere we wanted to go, giving us the history of Waco and the Chip and Joanna Gaines success story. Erin’s knowledge of the history of Texas was exceptional as well. Her wonderful sense of humor and her genuine kindness made for a great day. We will most definitely take another tour with Discover Dallas next time we are in Texas!
Rebecca was great. My mother and I really enjoyed our tour. She was very informative about the region and showed us many highlights along the way. I would definitely recommend her and her company.
Erin was awesome! We were treated like royalty all day and it was so nice. The schedule was flexible enough to meet our personal needs but still give us the perfect tour. She was a wealth of knowledge and history of the area. We shopped, ate, visited, walked, talked and enjoyed a girls day out that was long overdue. Future tours a definitely in our plans!!!
Magnolia was just as I had hoped. So Joanna.... beautiful. Well paced tour. Saw future homes for show.
There was nothing in that store we did not like. Considering how busy it was, it is well managed and well maintained. The bakery goods were delicious. Food trucks all around, decorated very nice for the Christmas Holiday and Santa was present for photos with the children. Employees even offered to photograph you.
Rebecca was a wealth of knowledge and we had a wonderful time. There were 5 senior women and she acomondated all of our wishes. She is very knowledgeable about subjects and knows the correct people. Would recommend any and all of her tours on your next trip to Dallas or Waco. Rebecca will work with you to customize a tour that works for all of you.
OMGoodness! A FABULOUS PRIVATE TOUR! Found Dallas Tours on the internet after I landed in Dallas. Definitely, going back!!They made a girls trip memorable!! Thanks Rebecca & Erin!!!I will be back!!
We could not have been happier with the day Erin planned and provided for us. We saw and enjoyed the highlights for Magnolia Farms including a delicious meal, the silos, shopping, visiting with Jimmy Don, seeing some of the Fixer Uppers and learning the history. Erin was so knowledgeable and entertaining that the road trip time flew by. The last hour in Dalles wa also a treat. Seeing some of the historical landmarks and famous neighborhoods gave us another experience for Dallas. We enjoy private tours as neither has to be distracted by driving and the tour guide makes you aware of so many things you are passing by that you would not have known on your own. It was a fun and educational experience. You won't go wrong taking this tour and I would think the other tours will be excellent as well., If we return to Dallas, we will definitely be signing up for one!!
