It was a great tour, the only complaint is we couldn’t actually go down into the main tunnels as it was the weekend. So fyi don’t try to come after 6pm mon-fri or on weekends. But great guide, Victor was friendly, knowledgeable and was a great fit for our group! We started out at Market Square then continued to the first foodie stop a great little Phillipino restaurant. Excellent flavor! Then we proceeded to entrance of tunnels and given the history and layout. Next into a Cuban restaurant where more delicious food awaited. We then did a tour of the tallest building in Texas (well clipped recently by an Austin building by 23ft!) then made our way to Market Square again with the history of downtown and a 9/11 tie-in. Onwards next to a great Mexican food restaurant which was my favorite! Then we proceeded flavors were amazing snd the spicy margarita was excellent! Our last stop was some Italian desserts, the tiramisu was to die for, so creamy and light! I’d recommend but this was the last of this specific tour which was sad to hear. Definitely recommend a tunnel and foodie tour downtown Houston though, we learned so much! Great night, friendly group and great service! 👍👍👍🫶
Victor was great! We learned some fun facts about Houston, got to see a bit of the tunnel system, architecture, and had yummy food.
Great food and tour of downtown Houston, filled with interesting details about the city and the buildings and the area in general .. Victor did a fantastic job keeping it fun and well paced , he was a wonderful tour guide !
There a reason this tour has a five star rating. It's a great way to spend an evening in downtown Houston. There were 19 people in our group which concerned me. Vanessa did an outstanding job. She had many responsibilities. Planner.. I received a text message on the day of the tour asking about allergies and she provided a link for parking. Group leader expertly moving all participants from place to place. Tour guide were she stopped and told us fun facts about Houston. And, she spoke loudly so we could all hear. Waitress..she helped the servers so the food was delivered in a timely manner. She even spoke in fluent Spanish to two guests from Spain. On top of all of this we had the promised four food stops. My personal favorite was the first one where we had tacos with corn tortillas. It sounds simple but they were delicious. A fun and tasty evening.
Tour guide very knowledgeable and full of energy. Food was flavorful! My guest and I were impressed.
I’ve done food tours across the USA and Europe, this had the most amount of food and was among if not the most informative. Big kudos to the organizers and guide Vanessa who you can tell devotes herself to her craft and will take great care of all groups. Book the tour and get ready to eat a lot
In Houston for work, so GLAD our group did this tour. It was a fun and delicious way to learn about Houston while enjoying foods from all over the world. We also got to see the underground tunnel system which was so neat and explains why the city can look empty. Of ny favorite stops, the Chinese and Mexican were both tied as my favorites. The Italian restaurant had the best dessert and atmosphere with live music. Such a cool way to tour Houston!
Vanessa was an amazing tour guide and you can tell she loves calling Houston home. She made sure that each of us was hydrated (the water was greatly appreciated) and had the best experience at each stop! The food was yummy at each stop and the portions were just right. Definitely come with comfy shoes, an empty stomach, and a camera to snap pics of all the beautiful murals around the city.
This was wonderful food and walking tour of Houston. Vanessa did a great job leading the tour. The walk in the underground tunnels and throughout the City was super informative and interesting. There was plenty of delicious food so come hungry. We ended up taking to-go boxes from two of the restaurants. We had a great time and highly recommend this tour.
Vanessa is the best foodie guide ever!! Her enthusiasm and engaging personality made it such a memorable experience She welcomed us to 4 different restaurants and they were all local spots with a variety of diverse dishes! She also added interesting history and fun facts about Houston along the way. I would highly recommend for people of all ages and backgrounds Just would not eat before hand. I made that mistake thinking these portions were going to be small but I was Very wrong, it was a lot of food
Absolutely with the $70 and more. Our guide Venessa was lovely and passionate about Houston. She also had all the connections at the restaurants to make it an enjoyable experience at each stop
The history and food were good . The tunnel was very interesting. The guide was fun. The people in our group were not super friendly. That was the only down side
Vanessa was what made the experience the best and so was the food. Definitely would do this again amy
This experience was undoubtedly one of the most outstanding food tours we have been on. Vanessa was so personable and knowledgeable of the downtown area and the history of the buildings and the restaurants we visited.
I got this tour for my parents and they absolutely loved it. They left super full and loved all the food. 10/10 recommend!
The most memorable part of our tour was our tour guide Vanessa. She is knowledgeable and fun. This was our 3rd time and we enjoyed it every time. The food was delicious and filling and Vanessa knew all things Houston!!
Vanessa was a great tour guide. She communicated loudly and clearly even when the city got noisy. She was very pleasant, positive , and knowledgeable. The food stops were tasty and we were all pretty full/satisfied by the end. Overall the tone was fun and we had many laughs with other tour attendees.
This was an interesting food tour of the downtown Houston area. There are a series of tunnels in this area that connect buildings, light rail, and the theatre district that we got to learn about and visit restaurants in the tunnels.
Vanessa was a great guide, very knowledgeable and personable, and she even came prepared with rain coats since it was sprinkling throughout the tour. All three places she took us to eat had excellent food, and the variety of food was great as well. I wish we had spent more time in the tunnels, but overall it was a great tour.
it was great! Vanessa was a wonderful tour guide... Thank you for a GREAT experience. we will definitely be back!!
Good value for the cost...important to do when the weather allows you to walk comfortably Vanessa was a good host...she has good energy
Vanessa is truly a Houstonian the tour was amazing, well thought out and perfectly curated for anyone who wants to learn about great eateries in Houston as well as learn about the great city. The food options were all amazing everyone will enjoy it.
We just finished the Food Tour of Downtown Houston with Tunnel Access… and WOW. Our tour guide, Vanessa, was so knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. She took the time to not only show us the restaurants, but to show us interesting spots, murals, and historic locations between the restaurants. She provided an experience that only a true Houstonian could. 10/10 tour guide!! The restaurants - also a complete 10/10. It’s hard to pick a favorite. Each restaurant absolutely shined in their individual cuisines (and I say that as a very well traveled “foodie.”) We will surely be revisiting these restaurants to try their other dishes. And don’t get me started on the amount of food that we got. This is NOT a “small bite” tour. This is a “I am going to need a box to take the rest of this food home” tour. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I would recommend this tour to both locals and tourists. You won’t find a better tour in Houston for this price. Just book it!
We had an outstanding time. I thought the food was just the right amount and more than we expected compared to other tours. Im happy we did this food tour with Guide Vanessa, she puts a lot of energy and effort into making sure you understand the food options and each restaurant stop. Each stop was unique and different that the last, we ended up taking the strawberry cheesecake and pasta back to the airBNB with us. Would do this tour again with family members and friends
I am a native Houston who grew up going downtown for everything before the suburbs blew up and I still leaned a ton on this tour. Our tour guide Vanessa was a wealth of knowledge and shared that knowledge so enthusiastically. I left with a reviewed since of pride in my hometown and some great places to eat when in the city. Our last stop had an entrance to the underground tunnel system with a flood door. Interesting and a little eerie. Did you know Houston has the largest underground tunnel system in the US? My boys did not, so we'll be booking the underground tunnel system tour Astroville offers next. Whether you're new to H-town, or an original native like me, book this tour. My family loved it. Great way to spend quality time together.
Not just a fun food experience, also a great history tour of downtown Houston. Vanessa was an engaging, knowledgeable and fun guide.
Delicious Food. I've done similar tours in Dallas, Nashville Denver etc. This one was among my favorite and had the best guide and had the largest "Texas-sized" portions. Our guide Julie made an enjoyable experience a memorable one. Thank you Julie!
This Houston food tour was one of the highlights of our anniversary weekend! Vanessa is incredibly professional and knowledgable about Houston. The food was also delicious and I love how closely Vanessa worked with each of the restaurant stops You could really tell she has been doing this for a long time. I would recommend any tour with Vanessa for visitors or residents of Houston!
Enjoyed this evening very much, Vanessa is among the best guides I have found. Her stories, knowledge and food choices are a delight. We ate a lot, took some fun photos, and made some new friends even! Probably my favorite tour I've done in Houston although the tunnel tour is a close runner-up!!
This was a very fun and informative tour. Food was great and our tour guide was awesome!! 10/10 would book again!
We loved this tour. The guide Vanessa was excellent and made us feel welcomed at each stop. Each restaurant had a different atmosphere and type of food ranging from a bar-esque type of restaurant, local theater spot and then eating inside the tunnels. We had ample time to sit at each restaurant and enjoy drinks too. ONE TIP: Do not eat before or you will be tapping out by the 2nd restaurant, this was some of the largest portions I've seen on food tours and we've done them in plenty of cities around the world
Delicious food, good walk with great insights into the city and culture. Giant portions 😋 We couldn’t eat all that was offered and we were able to take it to go! Yay!
Vanessa was charming and very informative. She made everything come together and jumped in to ensure that all participants were well cared for. I really enjoyed meeting her. She clearly loves her job.
The food tour was an amazing experience and the food was incredible. Learning more about downtown Houston and seeing a small section of the tunnels was fun! We did not snack before going on the tour and left very satisfied, servin sizes were perfect. Our favorite was the tacos…so yummy!
Our leader Vanessa was outstanding! All of the food was wonderful and plenty. Enjoyed the educational part - learning about downtown Houston. Highly recommend this tour!
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Vanessa was a true professional. We had about 8-10 people in our group. I had a party of 4 within the group and Vanessa made sure we experienced the tour all together. The weather was chilly even by Houston standards. The layout of the tour was done perfectly, right down to the timing and order of dishes tasted. Great assortment of flavors. Highly recommend. Mahalo and aloha Vanessa from da Sekiyas
We had a enjoyable time, the price was fair and the tour guide was wonderful. Its definitely something we would do again.
Interacting with other random people and the great tour guide were the highlights. Food was good but the ppl were what made the experience fun
We had an AMAZING 🤩 time with tour guide Vanessa. We highly recommend this food tour!!!! Not only was the food really good, but we also loved learning fun facts about downtown Houston. We even experienced a portion of the the underground city through the tunnel system. Definitely broadened our horizons and where we would want to come back to visit on our next trip to downtown Houston. We also loved how Vanessa was so attentive to all of our needs to make sure we had the best experience possible. She kept the tour moving seamlessly. Our favorite stop on the tour was La Calle where we enjoyed authentic beef birria tacos, deconstructed elote, and mango margaritas. Also, met some really cool and fun folks who made the night even more enjoyable!!! What a great night out!!!! 🥳. Would definitely do it again!!!! 😃
Vanessa was knowledgeable and efficient! She made the trip fun and well-paced. We learned and and had a delicious experience. We 🩵 H-Town.
My husband and I really enjoyed the tour! We learned so much about the Houston downtown area even though we have lived in Houston all our lives. Also, there was a good variety of different types of food and we discovered some new restaurants that we will visit again. The best part was the tour guide, Vanessa, she made the tour amazing. She was full of knowledge on all the downtown buildings, I was very impressed. We are planning to do another downtown tour because of the positive impression she left on us. You will not be disappointed if you book a tour with Vanessa!
Vanessa was so much fun and was full of information and enthusiasm! The food was great and the walk in between stops was perfectly timed so one doesn’t feel over the top full. It was a great food tour, we loved every second!
We enjoyed all 3 restaurants & the food at each one. Vanessa was a great tour guide, very attentive & informative. Our favorites were the tacos & street corn,
La Calle Cantina was an awesome start to this great tour! Our guide, Vanessa, was so friendly and informative.
The food at each place was great! Vanessa was AMAZING and she gave great recommendations. Really pleasant experience!
Vanessa was fantastic and the food was so good. A+! I’d recommend this tour to anyone. Vanessa really was authentic and engaging. We had a wonderful time.
I’ve down food tours in many cities and this was one of my favorite. Definitely a lot of food, not one of those food tours where you have to eat before or after, everyone was pretty stuffed before the last restaurant. In terms of food, Mexican was my favorite but the Asian was also very tasty. I wasn’t a huge fan of last restaurant food (Italian) but they had good dessert and the live music was great!! Ray the talented musician and Vanessa the amazing tour guide made our higher delightful. We want to try more food tours in Houston after this!
Vanessa did an awesome tour of Houston food scene! Highly recommend this tour and make sure to ask for Vanessa. She is very knowledgeable on Houston.
Had promised my wife that we would do their Food tour next time we were in Houston which happened to be final four weekend.. A big thank you to our guide Vanessa who made us feel welcomed with open arms once again and introduced us to Houston’s diverse food scene in Downtown. It is a very professional run tour, Vanessa was able to cater to our group and gave us a really cool sneak peek at the Houston tunnels. Each stop offered a different type of food, nothing too exotic that you wouldn’t want to try but yet different.. the Mexico City tacos were absolutely delicious and I enjoyed ambiance of other 2 locations. It was very crowded because of the Final four going on in Houston but Vanessa was able to get us in and out of restaurant efficiently and without a wait. We didn’t feel rushed but really need the walking in between spots given that we were quite stuffed by the first location! One recommendation I would make to other tour goers is not to eat beforehand as we did. We ended up taking a good amount of food back to hotel
