Tour Galveston's 1895 Moody Mansion

This is a self guided tour. The rooms are beautiful and this is a preservation museum tour. I don’t think is good for younger kids that struggle with touching things. I know adults even have trouble doing that.

Take the tour! Used to”Mary’s tour” on my phone and leaned so much about the Moody family and their home. I’ll be back at Christmas to see it decorated for the holidays!

Went with family to tour this gorgeous historical home. It was nice to see how the wealthy lived 100+ years ago and was a nice reminder of how easy we have it nowadays. The staff was very informative and were lovely to talk with. 10/10 would definitely tour it again but at Christmas time.

Beautiful home and very interesting history of a family which knew the value of hard work and ethical business practices. Very much worth the price of admission and the time.

Don't touch the antiquities!! The docents were super and so knowledgeable of the Moody Mansion as well as Galveston.

There are no elevators in the house so be in good enough shape to climb the stairs cases to the different floors.

Allow 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Excellent audio tour. We went early when it wasn’t crowded. Beautiful home with beautiful furnishings. I recommend this tour

Great tour guides !! Very very knowledgeable about the history that comes with the beautiful home, which makes it feel more personal when walking through the rooms. My mom and I enjoyed our experience & will be back to tour the other mansions! We went early on Sunday so there wasn’t many people touring the house yet, while we were walking out there was a lot more people coming in so I would recommend getting there early if you want it to feel more personal and quite. Also recommend bringing ear phones for the audio tour! (:

So much history, and it’s beautiful. I took teenager girls they were amazed at the beauty. The elevator was a fun experience for me, but it worked perfect. Galveston is full of history!

If you visit Galveston, you should put this tour on your list to see. It is a beautiful place. Lots of history in this home. I have been to Galveston several times in my life and finally got the chance to see it. So glad I did. Well worth it.

Moody mansion was incredible and the docents there were amazing. The only problem was - we weren’t told about the optional access to additional parts of the mansion. All it would have cost was $5 and we could have seen it all. Other than that it is highly recommended. Beautiful historic property. Well presented. Immaculate. Very professional.

The mansion tour was very enjoyable. A beautiful home and fascinating history. The staff was friendly and helpful in answering questions. Be aware that there is no place to sit or rest in any room—which may be a deterrent for the elderly. Also, bring ear buds so you can hear the audio guide, as none were provided. The tour only takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete. All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience!

The house was beautiful The people were sweet and nice I took my time and I read through everything and I did it on my own or you can go with them or they have a video audio tour that you can do it was really nice

PAY ONLINE the boy at the house said no children prices my Granddaughter was with me, and he charged me 20$ a piece. Made change for my $50 out of his wallet.

The home is beautiful with many of the original furnishings and belongings. The docent was very knowledgeable and informative.

It’s a nice clean place. The location is about 15 miles west of where all of the restaurants and city sites are located though. Great rate.

We enjoyed our time doing the self guided tour of the mansion. The audio was very clear and easy to follow and understand. The personal stories were a great touch. The mansion itself was amazingly beautiful

We were unable to attend due to the police activity that occurred in the west part of Galveston yesterday.

I really wish we had an option for a guided tour of the Moody Mansion rather than scanning the QR code for info. I believe it would make for a more enjoyable experience.

To be able to take a look into the past and see the opulent lifestyle that people led always amazes me. The docents were helpful and enjoyed sharing what they knew about the Moody family which made it even better. The audio tour was great but I wish somewhere it said to bring headphones, that would’ve made it easier to hear. Otherwise a great place to see.

It was a great experience I loved learning abt the history of Galveston and the families that lived here and still do. The fact you walk at your pace and explored yourself was nice and being able to listen to the history behind the mansion while doing so

Enjoyable tour of a historic home. This tour had been recommended by friends, and it did not disappoint. Once inside the home, you will be amazed by the craftsmanship and details of the construction.

This was wonderful, stepping back in time! The mansion is perfectly preserved, and so very interesting to visit. Defiantly a very peaceful few hours for adults, not much for children, however the lower floors house a children's museum, which was not open the day we visited.

I have always wanted to visit the Moody Mansion, and on this trip to Galveston, I finally did. It is a self-guided tour that provides the family's history. It is worth your time if you like history and beautiful, old, restored mansions.

It was an interesting self guided tour to see the mansion that is over 100 years old and is still in good up kept condition. The wood used throughout the mansion was beautiful. Just something to do with some extra time in the island. Thanks

This was a very cool tour! Very beautiful! I could have spent hours in there! The coolest part was there were QR codes you could scan in each room and listen to the story for each room!

It was an amazing experience. The lady that opened the door (Bobbi) was very knowledgeable and gave us some great insights! You can tell she loves her job! I would recommend! The only negative is the app was a bit confusing. But I’m not very techno savvy.

Very well kept. Interesting to see how large the rooms and bathrooms were for the period of the house.

The tour of the Mansion is very fun and great way to see the Wall Street of the South. Galveston has an interesting history starting in 1880s, 1890s and 1900

My husband and i with my Mother and 2 of our best friends went on a tour at the Moody Mansion. What a beautiful home! Currently, the lower level is a childrens museum! We were able to tour 2 levels with the top level being closed as it is used as storage. Everything we saw was restored and kept clean and preserved. Herman, a volunteer, was very kind and helpful as was a young lady whom i didnt get her name. They were very knowledgable and helped my Mom get into a very small elevator with her walker. She did great but if you have any claustrophobia you should take the stairs! I highly recommend this self guided tour of Moody Mansion!

The employees are very nice! I didnt realize that the tour was an app you listen to on your phone. All around beautiful place. Also, only 2 levels of the building are for tourists. 1st and second floor. The other floor above is for storage and employees area. All around enjoyable place to visit.
