Interesting, informative and windy, but very worth it! Lots of dolphins, pelicans and close up views of the shipyard. The crew, Brandon and Eric(?) were friendly and helpful. Thanks for the tour!

It is a very informative tour. We went with my Sister-in-Law & her husband. It was their first time on this trip. They actually worked at Navel systems & were the engineers on some of the ships. They actually gave the narrator some information on the ships.
It is windy on the whole ride. Seeing the dolphins is a bonus. Interesting to learn about the ship scrapping industry.
Great tour! Brandon and Patrick did a fantastic job!
Really great time, Super friendly Staff(Brandon included) not too crowded so you can see everything, tour was well though out/planned
Excellent tour! Ship captain not only ‘ followed the script’ but he was constantly on the lookout for extras. Thanks to him we not only got a great tour and learned interesting history and current developments but also got to see interesting wildlife. Well worth the $$!
Nice harbor tour. Great commentary about the history and vurrdnt activites going on in the harbor. Didn't expect a huge Navy ship scrapping operation. Amazing!
Saw a lot of dolphins! Boat ride was a little long for my husband but he was so facinated with the information and the captain's knowledge of the story behind Port Brownsville. We both learned a lot and what a wonderful crew; very polite, professional and friendly. Great donuts and shrimp cocktail too.
I wanted to see what all was going on in the port area? And we got to get up close and have it explained to us!
It was wonderful. My only complaint is it was so crowded. It was hard to sit in one spot but no room to walk
It was cool. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was informative. It was interesting. However, I felt the boat was a bit overbooked forcing 7, of us to take seats inside. I realize they do it for the money but that is the reason I did not tip. I didn’t want to be INSIDE. Very crowded. One woman told me I was standing in her way of view but there was little room to stand against the outside rail without blocking the view of someone sitting outside. My opinion.
It wasn't ideal weather, but we made the most of it. It was cold and windy. Most of the boat is open, but the bottom has a small mostly enclosed area. There are bathrooms! There are covered areas for sun protection. The trip was great and the captain and crew were phenomenal. Such history in the port and so much knowledge sharing. They served donuts, coffee and later, shrimp cups. Highly recommend.
The crew was great, the history and the current state of the port was fascinating.
Very informative beautiful views friendly staff on board I would recommend this tour. Shrimp doughnuts and coffee all provided which was nice
A great day on the water despite the cold and wind. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the history and I enjoyed the pelicans. Little sad seeing the decommissioned ships being scrapped and the shrimp boats sold off.
Left on time, very friendly and courteous deck hands. Served us coffee and donuts and later fresh shrimp cocktail. Eric and Brandon answered tons of questions with a smile. Informative tour about the port and all the goings on in the port by the captain. Enjoyed the dolphins racing alongside the boat. Loved being on the water on a beautiful day. Reasonable price as well.
Very enjoyable be sure to bring a jacket for the wind it was so much fun to watch the Dolphins leaping and swimming alongside the boat in the wake
Great informational tour about the port of Brownsville and a lot of history. The captain and his mates are very cordial and welcoming. They offer donuts, coffee, water and a little shrimp bowl with sauce. You are welcome to bring adult beverages or drinks and snacks of your choice. Wear sunscreen. Bathroom is available onboard and you can move about or sit.
Captain Patrick and crew Brandon and Chris were very accommodating and knowledgeable. They welcomed guests and made you feel welcome.
What an amazing experience. We went on the day cruise on the 6th and the crew was so amazing. They transferred our wheelchair with ease and they were so kind. I can’t remember names so well, but the captain was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. The crew Chris and Brandon (?) were great and with keen eyes were able to spot dolphins. I would highly recommend this cruise, you won’t be disappointed!
Thank you to Capt. Michael, Brandon & Eric. We had an amazing time on the Brownsville Tour yesterday. The whole crew was very personable and welcoming. Great job you guys. Just a suggestion you might want to remove the Kitty Hawk from website, some were disappointed they didn't see it. Overall we would highly recommend this tour.
We had an amazing time! Very informative and the captain and crew were so nice. Dress warmly, the gulf winds can make it a chilly ride, even when it’s sunny
Very informative tour of Brownsville port. Saw Space X from a distance & saw different areas we would never have seen without being the water. Crew was very friendly too.
The crew was great! Super worthwhile trip! From seeing dolphins to learning all about the dredging and ship breaking, pretty cool. Plus the free coffee, treats and shrimp.
Captain Patrick and his mates were awesome. Very educational and interesting. Would totally recommend this tour.
Nice day to cruise the Port of Brownsville. Angie was a delight and Captain Patrick kept us informed along the tour. Enjoyed the cruise, thank you!
This is the best tour!! Michael and Angie are the absolute BEST!!! The trip is informative and fun. The dolphins cooperated today! ❤️
It was a great tour. However ... we couldn't see much because several people decided to stand in front of us towards the front!
I really enjoyed the tour. It was a fun way to learn more about the area and the different ventures that take place in the port. It was my second tour and I would take it again.
This is a very relaxing treat! Watch for the Momma Dolphin and her baby! Soooooo fascinating!! You will love it!
We absolutely loved the excursion! it was incredibly informative, and the crew members were friendly and welcoming. We even got to see many dolphins which made the experience even more magical. We all had a great time, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable adventure.
Beautiful day. Saw several dolphins. All of crew were helpful and polite. Captain was a courteous drive. The trip was extremely informative. We now know that recycling steel is big business. Would recommend the trip to anyone. Loved the treats ❤️ 😍
Very informative. Crew/captain very nice. Boat was clean. Doughnuts/coffee were great. Also you get a shrimp bowl! If you forget to bring something g to drink, they have water.
Sailed with Patrick, Angie and Anthony. Very enjoyable and informative with some quiet time to just enjoy the views. The waters got a bit choppy during the return trip but only ended up getting wet with spray. But that is on us since we choose to stay outside instead of going in the cabin. We got to see some dolphins playing in the water as well. Anthony made sure we got our shrimp cocktail while riding up front and Angie was enjoyable to talk with. Thank you all for making our trip enjoyable.
Great trip to relax and enjoy some interesting history and views. The crew was friendly and helpful as always
Really enjoyed. Anthony was very personable and even gave me the left over chocolate chip cookies which were excellent. Patrick was extremely knowledgeable and excited about what he was sharing even though our group was mostly senior and rather unexcitable. His family has been doing tour for three generations and he knows his stuff. Great time. Highly recommend!!
Be prepared for the weather to change. If it’s warm when you leave, it might be chilly when you come back. Also, if the wind blows, be prepared to get wet.
The pilot and other employees were very friendly and great information about the area. The shrimp was delicious
Very informative and seeing dolphins was a bonus! The captain knew his subject well and the crew was great! We would do the tour again.
This is a great way to see the Brownsville shipping channel to observe dismantling of massive ships, learn of local sea history, visit the shrimping cove to learn a little about their business and to watch and interact with the many dolphin who accompany us on our 4-hour tour. A fun away to spend an afternoon on SPI! 😊
My husband and I went on the Port of Brownsville tour. It was a nice sunny day, minimal wind so we did not get wet. We got a seat along the right side of the boat on the bottom deck . We had great view. Captain Patrick was knowledgeable and quite entertaining. Crew members Angela and Anthony took good care of us . There were pastries, coffee and fresh shrimp to enjoy. We had a great time.
This was our third trip with Captain Murphy tours this month. We think these tours are very well narrated. They are informative and entertaining. The deck hands, Anthony and Angie are exceptional, and seek you out to make sure everything is just right. Captain Patrick was very knowledgeable of the journey and knew all the ships, their sizes, and what they were for. He also gave us much history about the island and the ships. Pastries and shrimp were a nice touch too. Highly recommend these tours!! We will be back next year.
It was absolutely amazing The ships in the yard were awesome So many dolphins right next to the boat you could almost touch them Our crew made the trip, explained all about the harbor and ships in it along with a great history of the channel Fresh coffee and cookies with pastries and a shrimp cocktail as well I would recommend this to all
Anthony, Harley and the other guy did a great job. Just because this old lady can't remember a name is not a reason to not give him a little extra in his check too. It was a fun experience
The workers were very accommodating and friendly, the food was good and the pilot narated the entire trip in a manner that made it very informative. Well worth the money!!!
What a fun and informative trip! Patrick, Angie and Anthony were an efficient and energy filled crew. Patrick was an excellent historical narrator. Angie was good at making the rounds and watched out for safety. Anthony was up and down those steps and was ever watchful. He even fished out a woman’s hat!!! For the naturists we saw 4 sets of dolphins, egrets, Ospreys, Great Blue Herons, Roseate Spoonbills and many more!!! The pastries and shrimp cocktail were staged so that we weren’t ever hungry! Well worth the money and beyond!!!
We had a great morning! History wa very informative and even with motors and wind we could hear the pilot clearly!
This was a great experience - fun to go “behind the ropes” to see and learn about what is going on in the Brownsville ship channel. Well-done, informative tour - I especially liked remembering the person behind the named vessels in the ship graveyard. Was a nice way to honor their memory. Great commentary by Patrick and well served by Anthony and Angie.
5 Me and three lady friends enjoyed the trip . We are all over eighty years old and found your trip easy to maneuver around. Angie and the two guys(can’t remember their names) were helpful , polite and friendly! Will repeat the trip if I ever return to South Padre Island.
The tour was exceptional from start to finish. The captain and his crew were great helpful, knowledable, humorous and respectful All was on time, the boat clean, good donuts, shrimp and coffee. We live here and learned so many new things about the activities on the tour including Space Ex,JFK aircraft carrier, dismantling ships, shrimping, tugboats, dredging and the LNG pipeline.Would highly recommend‼️Also saw lots of dolphins and birds.
