First, we toured Houston on a double-decker bus. Then, we toured the space center. It was a great opportunity to see a little of everything.
Narration on double decker on a very base mic. All not understandable information on audio.
Dont forget to go upstairs for the shuttle experience!
First up was the bus tour around the city of Houston. Unfortunately there wasn't anything that I would call famous or well known to see. I didn't think that this tour was worth doing. Sitting up on the top of the bus was uncomfortably hot for the entire tour. The NASA space center was well worth the trip down there. I think that i would have preferred to spend the day there.
Yolanda did a fabulous job with the city tour! She was informative and humorous and she kept us all entertained despite all the traffic with the parade downtown. We were disappointed when we arrived at Johnson Space Center because nearly everything was already reserved so we were unable to see as much as hoped. My advice is to plan ahead!
We could not go on 2 trams as we did not know to schedule in advance. That information needs to be clearer.
We had a fabulous guided tour of Houston (despite the pouring rain) and it really is a great way to see the city. Our guide gave us some great tips (the tunnels - what a fab idea!) and it was lovely to hear someone so passionate about where they live. The visit to NASA was great although the weather meant we could only stay inside the main indoor area and the shuttles were closed. We made the most of it however and enjoyed the shows and talks that were on.
The space center is amazing . A few things people need to know, you need all day . We had gone with tour which allowed us 4 hours which isn’t enough time . There 4 trolley tours and you require tickets for 3 of them . So get them first otherwise like us you miss out
Very good experience although I was expecting a bit more out of the tours. Maybe more interactive. Nonetheless, it was interesting and educational.
The tour was great and exactly as described. It was a positive experience, and I would definitely do it again.
We were there for barely 30 minutes and they had issues with the bathrooms so they closed! We waisted half a day traveling from Galveston Island, rented a hotel room, meal and all for nothing!
Nice. Got 1.5 hour of city visit, taking us round various roads, murals and a few places, worth seeing. At NASA, we had sufficient time and the guidance given by our guide was worth to follow at NASA. Overall nice experience, and and highly recommended
Expected advance reservations on tram trips - instead only one trip was still available at space center. Also need to realize that tram trips are outside so be prepared for weather.
NASA was too crowded and the 4 hrs is just not enough. The Houston bus tour in the morning was good. The driver/ host was informative and enthusiastic.
Didn’t get to go ! We understood if not enough numbers tour gets cancelled but thought it may have been better to let us know the night before when they knew we were the only two going, especially when we arrived for our tour 30 mins before and to be told they needed a minimum of 6 people which we understand but we had replied to their seperate reminder email the night before inferring to be ready to arrive on time etc ?! Otherwise we would not have wasted money on a substantial taxi fare ! Not overly impressed too to be told that around Christmas not many tours go ahead. Recommend better and more timely communication as if we had known the night before that they was only us two booked, we were old have understood organiser cancelling !
Trip was canceled and they haven’t refunded our credit card yet we ended up taking the tour on our own plus they didn’t put anything so we got there and found out then. Very aggravated our credit card hadn’t been reimbursed yet
We really enjoyed the excursion. the tour started in the downtown area of the Houston city. The narrator was very knowledgeable of the downtown area. We have been living in the city for almost a quarter century and did not know the saliant features of the downtown Houston.
Viator cancelled my tour and I have not yet been refunded. I had to scramble to get another tour with another company at the last minute. Really inconvenient!
Always something to learn. Should have allowed more time to see all the shows and ALL the exhibits. Outer space isn’t my thing but found many areas of interest.
The transport to Johnson Space Center was good the pick up location was handy and the driver was helpful and courteous. He made sure we were safe . The lady that checked us in made sure we knew where to go to get on the trams and other space center experiences. Personally I can’t walk for the 4 hours spent in the center but there was enough to keep me interested.
Ben and Yolanda and the other staff at the Houston City Tour company were friendly and knowledgeable. Ben, the tour guide, made jokes and helped ease any awkwardness from traveling with strangers can cause.
A great way to see downtown Houston.Excellent commentary from Ben who not only showed us the city the artwork and top spots but also explained a lot of the history of Houston and Texas. Recommend! Great wat to get out to Nasa after the tour as well.
NASA tour was kind of a let down. First, started 35 min late due to waiting on people to arrive that never came after being told to be there early like 9:30 for a 9:45 tour. Then told would not leave until 10 am. Finally left at 10:05 am and when got to space center was in a traffic jam due to a car accident at the entrance for another 15 min delay. Raced to get to tours with training center to be a letdown. Nothing to see but large metal testing pods and computers. Rocket center nice. Best part was talk with former astronut on space station. Huston city tour was nice with alot of info.
It takes a while to get to everything, but even if you don’t get to everything(I didn’t) the trip and experience is worth it. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable . I was greatly inspired by the space movies, especially the astronauts sharing their perspectives. Tram tours are great for getting around.
Great informative city tour, followed by transportation and entry to NASA. Does exactly as it says on the tin!
It was a wonderful experience, just a shame that we had an electrical storm on the day so our tours at the venue were re-scheduled and sadly we missed out on two of them. We had no idea the the tours were weather related so just a heads up if it looks like lightening then be prepared to maybe miss out on tours at Nasa...
Make sure you check out the details for the Mission Control tram tour. If not you may well miss out, it’s not that clear with the tour operators
Lovely tour operators, experienced and friendly On time and seamless. Very little to worry about. NASA tour was amazing.
Excellent Tour and highly recommend. The team at Houston City Tours LLC were all excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. Gemma at front desk was lovely and welcoming and explained all the tour options well. I had elderly parents with me and they were very accommodating. The city tour and NASA was a great option as enabled us to explore Houston efficiently in the 1 day we had available. NASA was great. I can highly recommend using Houston City Tours LLC as everyone and all the organization very professional. Thank you.
We enjoyed the space centre but the city tour was in a double decker bus that was overdue for an upgrade. There was no aircon downstairs and upstairs had minimal shelter, just a piece of shade cloth which only covered about a third of the roof. Staff in the tour centre were lovely and made us feel welcome.
City tour was awesome very informative, Nasa was great I thought the Austronaut Training your was not worth it not a lot to see. Our tour guide was excellent.
Awesome tour, well worth it. Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend to anyone visiting
The tour was cancelled due to lack of participants without giving me any prior notice. I have not received any refund. Stay away!!
It was a great experience. First time and we were please to have done it. The visitor's center staff and our bus driver were very friendly and helpful. We appreciate every moment of our visit in the Nasa's Space Center..The plus in visiting Houston City it was of a great interest and informations, It's an amazing city with its multitude of murals. We really appreciate it. We recommend this tour. Thank you. .
It was a great tour. The tour guide and the other staff were so friendly. I learned so many interesting things about NASA, the astronauts and Texas.
Nice and informative city tour. Ben was a great tour guide. NASA Space center was incredible as well.
The tour is fantastic and Ben has a great energy. We don't recommend doing NASA and city tour at the same day. We ended missing shows and tours at the NASA because they picked us earlier. You will need a whole day just for NASA
Everything on time and very nice driver, that talked with passion👍 Called Yoyo if I remember right😃 Good information on the tour❤️
I would recommend it as it was all done very professionally and it all was done on time really enjoyed it
Prior to booking this tour, i went to the Helpline and asked whether the tour covered Nasa's mission control tram tour. I was told very clearly that it did. However, on the day of the tour, it came as a surprise and huge disappointment, to learn that this particular tram tour was not covered. I was told to book it separately at Nasa. Unfortunately, by the time we were dropped there, the tickets were sold out. Please ask your agents responding to Helpline chats to provide correct information.
Overall a great experience for someone new to Houston. The City Tour really provided a snapshot how unique and beautiful Houston is. The Tour Guide provided good insight on key aspects of Houston. The tours bus was an amazing way to experience the city and wonderful weather. The City Tour was followed up by a trip in a very clean van South to Johnson Space Center. The experience at Johnson Space Center was off the chart. It is humbling to see what the men and women of the USA have accomplished. The Tour covers so much but in reality just scratches the surface of the USA's contributions to exploring the galaxy. Give yourself lots of time to soak it all in.
You only will have time to take one tram tour because the city tour is first and takes up some of the time spent at NASA
It did not meet the expectation. There was no guide at NASA at all, and they just drop me off at the gate. No information for the tour. Had to wait more than 20 minutes at the outside for pickup with 100 degrees, exhausted.
This trip was awesome. Families will definitely enjoy. I also appreciate the shelter in place when it rained heavily but overall I throughly enjoyed myself.
It was a really nice experience and the service was excellent, all the staff was very kind and nice. I received what I paid. Thank you!!
An amazing experience with the exhibits let down a little by the food experience Which was chaotic. The displays were literally out of this world and show the skills of all the NASA team.
It was a hot day in June, so sitting on top of the bus was HOT. It was the best view of the murals around DT. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and was a great guide. Definitely a must to see when visiting. The NASA trip was great as well. It was a nice way to spend the day in Houston.
The trip was not organized properly. It was a Saturday, and they should have known there would be a rush. However, they scheduled the city tour first and only dropped us at NASA by 11:30 AM. By then, all the tram tours were fully booked, and there was no availability for the rest of the day. It ended up being a complete waste of a trip for us. We had to pay out of our own pocket and visit again the next day. I strongly feel that we should be refunded for the poorly planned experience.
The space center is fantastic. I loved it so much, want to go back when I can. So many interesting And informing exhibits and fun rockets to look at and go into.
