The guide was not precise about meeting place. He was informative, but he did not end the tour where we started. We were left on our own to return to our cars. I felt that was unsafe and we were not comfortable with it.

We recently attended the Galveston Red Light District Tour after picking up one of their brochures, which honestly looked very appealing with the vintage photos and old-time setting. The advertising gives the impression that you may actually be touring inside historic buildings or homes connected to Galveston’s past. While the brochure does mention it is a walking tour held nightly, it was not entirely clear that the experience would be completely outdoors with no access inside any of the locations discussed. The stories and history shared during the tour were definitely interesting, and you could tell there was knowledge behind the presentation. However, for the price, we expected a more immersive experience. It would have been much more engaging to actually step inside some of the historic homes or buildings, see preserved rooms, old artifacts, clothing, photographs, furniture, or recreated settings that connected to the stories being told. Instead, most of the experience consisted of standing outside while hearing descriptions of what once took place there. Galveston has such rich history that this attraction has a lot of potential if they ever expand into an actual indoor historical experience. A restored house or museum-style setup with memorabilia and visual displays would make this tour far more memorable and worth the cost. Overall, the history itself was interesting, but the presentation left us wanting more for what was advertised and what was paid.
It is a walking tour and it was enjoyable finding out about the local history. The tour guide is obviously knowledgeable and personable .
The tour was amazing. Tyler was great and loved his storytelling. Highly recommend. Nice chilly evening to bring a chill up your spine.
Nicki is great! She was very nice, informed, and took time to answer questions. She stayed a little longer with us and that was sweet of her. She gave us some spooky suggestions. Galveston is such a neat place and tours like this are much more entertaining than a book or Google. 👌🏼
Excellent tour! Charlie gave a lot of information and made it fun. The best part were the little bits of history given that aren't in a history book. Great tour!
What an outstanding time! My family and I are "weekend locals" and decided to take a tour after dinner. What a great time. It's incredible how much history there is on the island, and how HISTORIC the space is. I learned so much about the Moody's, the Fertitta's, Vick & Anthony, and more! This tour was great, our guide was very knowledgeable and we were shocked to learn about all the prostitution that took place starting in the 1600s up to the 1990s!
Our tour guide was Amazing she had a lot of interesting information… was not in any hurry took her time and made sure we didn’t have any questions… definitely recommend
I did the Red Light tour and wasn't disappointed. I learned lots about the ladies, the people who were instrumental in the development of the city of Galveston and the stories behind many of the buildings that were used as brothels back in the day
Excellent tour, really interesting look at the historic Red Light District. Mike was an amazing tour guide and super knowledgeable. Highly recommended!
Mike was an awesome tour guide! He was so full of knowledge and made our tour experience memorable. Would definitely recommend this tour on your trip!
Galveston has such an incredible history! Makes me love this place even more. Mike, our tour guide, was fantastic and his love of the island really showed through! Highly recommend!
Getting out of Houston and breaking away from the bars it was more than entertaining. A tremendous 2 hours after dining on the strand.
The red light district tour was a highly entertaining informational sex scandal field tour. The history of Galveston and the behind the scenes. Felt like I had a blast and did something better for myself than the other entertainment to be offered.
I never knew Galveston had such a interesting history. The tour was so well narrated and the guy so informative it was remarkable
We went as a group of friends and we would recommend it to everyone. It was really fun and informative and the management was great. Thanks a lot.
Our tour guide, Rob was very informative and very entertaining. We walked through the "Red Light District" and heard many stories from the unique history of Galveston Island. He shared tales from the dark side and showed us some interesting pictures he's taken while doing the tours. We walked through the dark neighborhoods, but never felt unsafe. The walk was at an easy pace, with breaks for stories in between. We enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to others, especially with Rob.
Easy walking experience with lots of historic details. Tour guide was pleasant, knowledgeable and kept a good pace for all
Nice enough tour guide. Just repetitive and boring. Not enough racy stories, mostly architectural info
Let people know this is NOT a ghost tour. The description does not say that its just and informational tour.
Rob was our guide and did a fabulous job on hus presentstion. Very informative an learned a lot about Galveston’s history we wouldn’t have gotten otherwise.
Rob, our tour guide, made the tour interesting and entertaining. He ensured that everyone on the tour was safe and secure, and was very engaging. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
We’ve done several Galveston tours. This one rocked! Rob provided an excellent experience: he was upbeat, welcoming, very knowledgeable, and fun. The history of the area is very interesting, and this tour really gives you a lot to consider. I would do this tour again.
Very interesting tour of the Red Light District. Our Guide was knowledgeable, lively and informative. This is NOT a Ghost Tour but a great historic tour. I have taken many tours in Galveston. This tour was unique and offered a glimpse into a different aspect of Galveston's past. I do not recommend this tour for pre-teens. The nature of the subject is graphic.
Coming from Carrollton, Texas I didn't know any of the history that was presented to me. Our tour guide was very entertaining and full of history. One of the best tours I've been on.
We had a great tour of the Red Light District with Rob on a very cold night recently. Rob was informative and humorous. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening!
