Our downtown and riverwalk tour with Matt was our first experience learning about San Antonio. We liked that he was a native and could share his experiences growing up here. He noted the many changes in the city during his lifetime. Matt was passionate about his city and we loved that!

Very informative and interesting. Did a great job and since it was so hot took breaks in the shade to explain.
Alfred was an excellent guide. It was evident from the get go he loves his city and wants to show it off. He was born here and is not afraid c to brag and give you all the history from the Alamo to the River Walk. Highly recommend this tour.
Matt was great, very knowledgeable and very passionate about the history of San Antonio. Was knowledgeable of both ancient and modern history.
Nice walking tour , not sure value for money . Guide shared lots of interesting facts but we did not complete 2 hours tour time
Matthew was a terrific guide. I learned so much about San Antonio and I’m glad I took the walking tour.
The walking tour was very informative. Turns out there is a lot of history to learn beyond cowboys and the Alamo.
Matt was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He had great stories about San Antonio. I would recommend this walking tour.
Matt was great. Very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with us. Would recommend and use again. Thanks
Overall, the tour was very informative. Joseph knows a lot about the history of the city. The only constructive feedback I would give is that at times he tended to go on longer than necessary on different points and veering off the true historical aspects of the tour.
Matt was a terrific tour guide! Covered a significant amount of history, architecture, tidbits, oddities, how the riverwalk was formed, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR (and Matt)!
Fun and fascinating! Matthew was an amazing guide - so knowledgeable and friendly! Highly recommend!
Highly recommend Matt Garcia as your guide Very knowledgeable of the city & history
Our guide, Matthew Garcia, was so knowledgeable and fun. He was able to answer all our questions. He went beyond expectations. We loved our tour
Matt did a great job! He had so many interesting things about the city to share that I hadn’t been aware of. It gave me a new appreciation for San Antonio!!! The tour was well worth it and thanks Matt for the cold water. We’ve very much enjoyed our stay in beautiful San Antonio!!!
Joseph was an excellent guide. He talks loud enough for the group to hear and he really knows his history. Great job!
Wonderful personal experience. Learned a lot !! My guide Matthew was very knowledgeable and easy to follow. So glad I signed up for the tour because I now look at San Antonio with a new awe !
This walking tour covers the history of the town of San Antonio including some key people and buildings within the downtown area. Only about 10-20% of it was a “river walk” tour. It was very interesting, and Matthew (the guide) is incredibly knowledge and personable.
Informative, engaging tour with Matt, one of the tour owners. As a SA native, Matt knows his city inside and out. His obvious passion for sharing the history of the region shines through in his commentary. The pace of the walking tour was leisurely and he included several stops to give background from key spots in town. If you're looking for a small group tour with an interesting guide, check out Texian Tours.
Our tour guide Matt was fantastic. He was very informative and had great stories to tell us. There were 3 of us on the tour and we enjoyed being able to ask so many questions.
Joseph is an amazing tour guide. He is so knowledgeable and patient person! One of the best that we had so far. He was talking and explaining non stop all through the tour.
Matthew did a great job with our family! He was flexible, interesting, and very knowledgeable! Lots of neat trivia about the history of San Antonio. Lots of powerful history about why the city is what it is today. Had a broad range of understanding and is good at making comparisons to our time. Absolutely worth every penny and a must do when visiting San Antonio!
Excellent tour. Our tour guide, Matt, was fantastic. Highly recommend! Very educational and interesting facts about SAT and local area.
Matt was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Was at answering questions. Have been here before but learned a lot about the city, it's history, and present successes and challenges.
We had a great time, Matthew explained the history around every place we visited. We enjoyed the walk around the river and he gave us tips on where to go to enjoy a good and juicy brisket.
Great tour with Matthew. Very knowledgeable and passionate about his home town. Thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of SA and walking around the city. Great introduction and start to our stay.
Matt is an excellent guide full of local knowledge, historical anecdotes, very entertaining and thought provoking tour. We highly recommend his tour for getting inside stories of every street of San Antonio. Soon coming back for more. Thank you.
Joseph really knew his stuff!! His historical accounting of all downtown San Antonio was thorough and impressive. Suggest doing this tour at the beginning of a stay in SA to get a good grasp of the geography of the city and orientation of the River Walk. Leave some time, as our tour went well over the 2 hour description on TA. NOTE: Not recommended for people who can't stand/walk for long periods of time or are sensitive to heat. Our walk was hot!! Joseph had water bottles for attendees, but recommend taking your own, as you can fill it up many times during the tour.
Joseph was an excellent tour guide and very knowledgeable. Even with random questions about something, he was able to riff so well and give thoughtful and interesting perspectives.
It was a terrific overview of the history of San Antonio. My guide, Joseph was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend it.
Matt was very knowledgeable about San Antonio history. He made the tour interesting and answered all our questions. We enjoyed it very much.
Our Guide Matthew was personable, interactive, & informative. I enjoyed the small group experience & the understanding gained of San Antonio history.
Our tour guide Matt led us on a very interesting and informative tour, supposed to be 2 hours but went on for over 2½ hours. Very knowledgeable on all aspects of the history of San Antonio. Matt had a backpack full of complimentary chilled bottles of water. 5 stars!!
Be prepared for a great history lesson if your guide is Joseph. He knew everything and explained it all so well from pre-Alamo to modern-day San Antonio. He was equally able to talk about architecture and important people and times that have shaped the city.
Matthew is very knowledgeable about his hometown. Great opportunity to learn about San Antonio. He also accommodated our late flight by providing a tour later in the afternoon after we arrived.
Very interesting and informative tour. Joseph was very knowledgeable. I would recommend taking the morning tour because it was a little too hot in the afternoon, otherwise well done!
Our guide Joseph was fantastic and knowledgeable. We learned so much about the history of San Antonio. Highly recommend!
Joeseph was a very knowledgeable guide and was able to explain the history of San Antonio and Texas that was interesting and easily understood. He spoke well and was happy to answer questions. He paced the tour well and gave us some good tips about San Antonio.

Matt was amazing! He knew so much about history, architecture, business, geography, and current events. We learned so much! His style was genuine, fun, and engaging. He really took his time with us, and obviously cared about answering our questions. What a great ambassador for San Antonio!
Joseph was very informative and very patient. He made the tour worth taking!! He is very knowledgeable.
Be ready to walk and have a great time learning about downtown San Antonio.....and ask questions! Your tour guide will be more than happy to answer any and all questions. After all, they know the area the best!!! Take a bottle of water (as suggested). I would advise to take some kind of napkins/sweat cloth - if it's summertime, you're gonna sweat! :)
Guide was very good. Knowledgeable, on time, patient with us old folks. Knew way more history than we could follow. He was also a guide for the Mission tours.
Matt had tons of interesting information for us. He really knows his stuff and presents it in an engaging way. We highly recommend!
Really worthwhile 2 hours spent with Joseph (and 4 others - group of 6 in total) seeing the sights - and hearing about the history of - downtown Austin. The walking was an easy 2.5 miles around town and down the riverfront and we learned lots about our surroundings and the history of both the town and the state. A fantastic tour with a fab guide - Well worth booking!
Matthew Garcia did a great job. We really liked it. His knowledge of San Antonio past and present runs very deep. 5 stars!
The guide, Joseph, was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. He had done his homework, and we thoroughly enjoyed the 150-minute walking tour. We have been to San Antonio several times before, but this time we decided to take the tour. There were only four of us on the tour. We will strongly recommend it to all our friends.
Learned so much about the beautiful city of San Antonio! Our tour guide was amazing! I definitely recommend this city tour!
Matt was very fun! Not only was he very knowledgeable about downtown, but he told stories that made the history come alive.
