I loved this haunted tour with Celia. I've lived in Austin for a long time and I learned so much during the tour. Celia herself is lovely. I highly recommend!

Departure Point
- We will meet guests directly in front of the Texas State Capitol Gates. Please do not go inside the gates or up to the building itself, as that is NOT where your guide will be waiting for you with Ha Ha Haunting merch on! Please note: There's no restroom readily available from the start location.
Return
- This tour will end inside the lobby of the beautiful, historic, and haunted Driskill Hotel - a prime location for guests to kick off the remainder of their night! The end is approximately ½ mile from the tour start location.
Itinerary
We’ll start our tour outside the beautiful Texas State Capitol. We’ll discuss the ghosts that still haunt the shadows of the building’s historic halls & a few urban legends that keep Austin weird.
From the ghosts of Texans past, to phantom horses, to ghoulish parties, we’ll stop in front of the Governor’s mansion where you can snap a quick pic and learn of the many mysterious happenings in the building that occur to this day. As we head to our next haunt, we'll chat serial killers in the Capital city.
A lady in white, missing candy bars and haunted projectors, a boy who loves magicians… all fitting ghosties for a storied theatre.
As we head to our final destination, we’ll cover a brief history of what was once meant to be the tallest building in Austin (laughable now), in addition to discussing a number of Texas urban legends like the Donkey Lady. We’ll also discuss some of the cults who called Austin home in times gone by… (and maybe even to this day?)
The Driskill Hotel isn’t just a beautiful building in the heart of downtown, it is also one of the most haunted hotels in the state. We’ll cover the Austin's most famous spirits here; from jilted brides, to little girls, portraits that seem to watch your every move, elevators with grumpy ghostly men, and more, we save the best for last and pack our final Ha Ha Haunted punch with our tour’s finale! Note: We do not go inside the Driskill.

Ha Ha Haunted was one of my favorite walking tours! It takes you through downtown Austin and past some famous landmarks in the city. It’s a perfect length of time and Celia is incredibly knowledgeable, engaging and fun. This would be perfect with friends, co workers or visiting Austin and looking to explore with a unique tour experience.
Celia was our tour guide and she was fabulous! She gave us plenty of interesting and humorous information about the ghosts in the area. She kept us enthralled with her stories and witticisms!
The Ha Ha Haunted Austin Walking Ghost Tour had everything you’d want in a local ghost tour: -a loud and knowledgeable guide -ghosts -lost souls -historical facts about Austin -some walking but not enough to get you sweaty And a bonus with this tour is it’s full of laughs, hence the Ha Ha Hauntings! Celia is clever, and if you like puns, you’ll have a punny time! The tour ends at the Driskell Hotel, which is the ideal place to end because of it’s history, ghosts, and cocktails!
Celia took us on a walking tour and was very informative, insightful and hilarious. I learned something new and laughed. 10/10 would go again
Celia was an informative guide and kept us entertained the entire time! The stories were great and were a good mix of enlightening, funny, and spooky. We highly recommend!
We went on a tour with Celia and we just had the absolute best time! She was so fun and funny and also very informative. The length of the walking wasn’t too bad and she accommodated stopping near benches for my mom to be able to sit as well. She was respectful of the victims of crimes she shared about and also differentiated when she was telling a story about something verifiable versus just lore which was neat! 10/10 recommend! We took this tour 3 days ago and we’re still talking about how much we liked it and her!
Celia provided an excellent tour. She was informative and entertaining. We enjoyed her company and the walking tour was fun. Austin is a great city!
Our host was awesome, great story teller with lots of details, enthusiasm and narration. Covered a lot and was fun
We had a blast learning about the history and hauntings of Austin. This is something that I would definitely do again. Well worth every penny.
Bring your walking shoes and use the restroom ahead of time. Dress accordingly to weather and be prepared for a uphill incline
This was such a fun tour! Celia was our guide and she was super engaging and a great storyteller. Would highly recommend!
Celia was amazing during our tour. She kept us entertained the entire time and made our experience our wonderful! My husband and I loved every minute of it.
Celia is a fantastic storyteller and guide! We had a fabulously fun time and thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening! If you're looking for a fun time with memorable stories and a few puns, this is the one for you. We highly recommend Ha Ha Haunted Austin Walking Tours!
Celia was our guide and did an amazing job. I generally don't care for guided tours because they feel so canned and scripted. Celia is not that kind of guide. She covers relevant facts to set the stage, but then the magic is in the details and stories she shares. Her passion for Austin is on full display and she has gone above and beyond by doing additional research on the backstories of the people. The result is a truly unique and informative experience, and her sense of humor is the cherry on top.
Celia is such a fun tour guide! I love that she doesn’t take it too seriously but also has all of the fun facts. I loved the part of downtown we walked around, too. Parking was really easy where we started and it allowed us to stay for a drink afterward at Driskill. Would recommend!
We had an amazing time on this tour! Our guide, Celia, was a fantastic storyteller that shared tons of interesting stories. The small group size was also a huge benefit, we got to ask questions and felt like we got an experience catered specifically to us. We will definitely go for round 2 next time we’re in town! Thanks so much :)
This was one of the best ghost tours I’ve been on! Celia was a great storyteller—funny, spooky, and full of interesting ghost history. The pacing was perfect, and every stop had a cool story that kept us hooked. A great mix of spooky and entertaining. Highly recommend!
Celia is a vibrant and informative interpreter/story teller. She has wonderful tales of ghosts and murder and history of apparitions around Austin.
My friends and I had an amazing time! They were visiting out of state and really enjoyed seeing the local sights with a funny twist.
I originally scheduled a tour for Sunday, but the guide didn’t show. I sent a message to Ha Ha Haunted Austin and they responded right away. They refunded my money and rescheduled a tour two days later. Unforeseen circumstances came up for the tour guide on my first booking, so I was very impressed with their customer service. On the night of the rescheduled tour, Celia was my guide and she came out to host only myself for a tour. She was knowledgeable, personable, witty, and overall a wonderful guide. It was like walking the city with a friend as they told ghost stories. I loved learning about some ghostly aspects and my favorite part was the Driskill Hotel. Although, it was cool to see that occupants were actually inside the Governor’s Mansion as well…the dogs informed everyone of our presence on the sidewalk outside. Thank you so much!
Went with some friends and had a blast! Celia was great at delivering the spooky tails with humor. Made for a very enjoyable night!
Ha Ha Haunted Ghost Tours was awesome! The stories were fascinating and our host Celia was knowledgable and also so funny! The tour was easy to find and the stops along the way were very interesting. Overall a great experience!!
Truly a fun time! The ghost stories were interesting with the perfect amount of jokes and comedy sprinkled throughout. BUT it wasn’t only ghost stories. Serial killers, cults, urban legends, oh my! The tour guide, Celia, is so warm and welcoming. Highly recommend :)
This was my first time in Austin and while my girlfriend really liked the ghost stories, I really appreciated the history behind the capital, governors mansion, paramount theater, and the Driskill hotel! Our tour guide Celia was very knowledgeable and easy to get along with, so I would definitely recommend this tour!
SOOOO FUN and absolutely hilarious!!! We loved our tour and even as people that have lived in Austin for a while, we learned a lot! I love that she talked about ghost stories and history but also cults, urban legends, and fun facts about buildings. Highly recommend, seriously so fun!!
This tour was so fun and informative! She had dad jokes and puns going the whole time, as if Josh Gates himself were giving the tour. The walk was perfect, nothing too crazy, but just long enough to be able to see the city from a different view. 10/10 would do this again!
What a BLAST! I was in ATX for a conference and a few of us decided to go out and try this tour. Celia, our ghostly host, met us with a big smile and a ton of energy. She gave us the rundown on what to expect.I’ve done ghost tours in NOLA and Boston. This tour was a little more quirky and tongue in cheek… kind of has a Jungle Cruise vibe that I thought was fun. After the tour we asked her for a good place to get a drink. She sent us to Firehouse Hostel where we got drinks in a hidden speakeasy.
I came on this tour in a group of 5 friends (all locals) and we had a blast. The tour guide was hilarious and the tour covered a wide variety of interesting topics including ghosts, cults, and urban legends, many of which we had never heard before! She was knowledgeable and the small group size allowed us all to have a more personalized experience.
Very informative, and very entertaining! I had such a great time learning about history. Lots of great stories to hear, and not to much walking!
The perfect mix of funny and informative, history came to life last night on this ghost tour of Austin. Very fun, and such a delight.
Took a group of friends for a fun night and we were t disappointed! Celia was very knowledgeable and hilarious and gave us lots to talk about well after the tour finished, route was easily walkable with plenty of pretty photo ops in downtown Austin. Overall it was one of my favorite ghost tours I’ve been on!
This tour was so much fun! I’ve been on dozens of ghost tours and I loved the humor and history Celia brought to the experience. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for the perfect blend of spooky stories and funny quips. Warning: expect puns!
A great mix of history, spooky stories, and laughs. It was fun to learn how many stories surround local locations. The tour length and walk route are a perfect start to a night. 10/10
SUCH an amazing ghost tour! Brought a group of friends who were visiting and it was such a blast (and the perfect way to tour Austin without being bored as a local)! Our host Celia was SO much fun. Ghosts and serial killers and even a cult I had never heard of (Buddhafield) and I grew up here! The vibes were immaculate and I have already recommended it to a bunch of folks. 10/10 Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun excursion and deffo gonna come back.
Celia was friendly informative and fun, a good guide. Engaged with group between stops. I enjoyed her taking the time to tell us the urban legends too..
Interesting tour! We've done a few other ghost tours in Austin. Definitely appreciated that the tour was shorter than other tours we've done. Faster, but to the point. It was also cool that we heard some stories about urban legends. Guide was friendly and kept the group moving. My only tip is to go to the bathroom before you meet the group. There wasn't one at the capitol and we had to wait til the Driskill.
They cancelled on us. We shouldn’t have been able to buy the tickets in the first place. It was annoying to get there before we realized we’d been cancelled on. Hopefully, I get my money back. Not sure if this was a Viator problem or a them problem.
