I think it depends on your tour guide. Our tour felt rushed, and our tour guide swore a lot, which I didn't appreciate since there were kids on the tour.

Itinerary
Ashton Villa The extremely wealthy eccentric Betty Brown’s spirit is forever roaming the elegant halls of Ashton Villa. Many have seen Betty wearing a turquoise dress and carrying a fan during lavish event held at the mansion. Even death can’t keep Betty from being the life of the party…and scare the guests half to death.
Sealy Mansion (Open Gates) John Sealy wanted to the best for his family so, we decided to build them the largest and most lavish house on the Island. The children play room was in the attic and had a Broadway stage. To this day the children continue to perform for anyone brave enough to witness the stage doors opening and closing by themselves. Magnolia Sealy, the head of the household is seen wandering the halls too shy to speak with visitors.

Jeff was fantastic!! Was a great history lesson
Tyler was amazing and so knowledgeable! Kept the group very intrigued along the tour! Very fun wit and sense of humor!!!
We were hoping for a spooky ghost tour to entertain the grandkids, but this was more of a history tour with just a few ghost stories sprinkled in. That would’ve been fine, but we’ve already done the history tours in Galveston, so most of it felt like a repeat for us. Unfortunately, the grandkids (Teens) were bored out of their minds, and we were left trying to keep them engaged throughout the long walk. Our guide, who referred to himself as “Dave in Galveston,” who is a BOI wanna be was just okay. He came across as arrogant at times and made jokes at guests’ expense, brushing them off with a “just kidding” that didn’t really land well. Because we all knew he was not. I thought maybe it was just me being sensitive until I asked my wife what she thought—and she shocked me by saying, “He was a D!#K.” Coming from her, that really said something, and all I could do was laugh. The tour also dragged on longer than necessary. Visuals were shown on a tiny phone screen, which was frustrating—an iPad would have made a big difference. Perhaps it is not in the budget of the guide or touring company. And the repeated tipping spiel at the beginning and end of the tour felt excessive. Most adults understand how tipping works; one reminder would have sufficed. Maybe it was just an off night, but next time we’ll try a different company when family comes to visit.
My daughter, her friend and I had a great time on the Great Galveston Ghost tour. We loved learning the history of Galveston- it made us look at the city in a new light and appreciate everything it is now. Dave was a great guide- engaging and funny, but told great stories! 10/10 recommend!
Dave was a good guide. He told great stories and kept us all together. He is charming and funny. Highly recommend this tour.
Awesome info, host was a lot of fun. Nice evening. Charlie the cat following for part of the tour great. Everyone in the family really enjoyed it.
Not too long and reasonable for kids. Educational and a good variety of stories. Nothing crazy that you couldn’t bring your kids along.
Tyler was awesome! He knew a lot about Galveston history. No bed and breakfast for us! And we’ll be sure to stay away from the Walmart! 😬
Fun experience! I went at the 4 PM one and wonder if it would be better after dark but also feel like the experience would be totally different taking photos so it just depends. Tour guide was full of stories and shared some photos of ghosts that others had taken on different tours. It was very interesting to learn about the history of Galveston.. I had no idea!
Guide was knowledgeable but., didn't do anything to build a mood. Supposed 90 minute tour lasted 60.
This tour was so popular that we had to be broken into two groups! Of my five Galveston ghost tours this one was the most informative and the most frightful. Here we took to the residential streets, passing all these grand, old homes while hearing the chilling stories. Our guide even had a personal story of being pushed down a staircase at one residence. “I hate this house,” he said while showing genuine fear of the place. He also showed a photo revealing the spine-chilling tale of how a member of his tour suddenly got scratches on her back from just being at one of the haunted sights. If ghosts aren’t your thing, the tour was worth the time just to see all the cool, old houses on the tour!
I enjoyed every minute and because off season there were only Four on the tour. The history was fascinating and the ghost stories were really engaging. Tyler was an excellent tour guide. At 75 and having some challenges walking, I was thrilled it was at a pace I could easily do.
Great tour. Missed the Lady in Black but Lori did a great job filling in. Here's a couple of photos with some energy captured.
Noelle was great and engaging. There was a diverse aged of guest and everyone was engaged. Nice pace. Make sure to wear bug spray.
Have taken all of the ghost tours but still learned something new about Galveston history. Thomas our guide was energetic and personable.
We had a great time with Noelle on our tour. She was very informative but in a funny entertaining way! She kept us intrigued with her knowledge of Galveston history. The night was balmy and the walk was easy. Not sure we actually saw or felt anything but was fun nonetheless. Would definitely be interested in some of the other tours.
10yo: "it was cool!" We enjoyed it, as did our two kids, 10 and 8 years old. The history was interesting and Lauri was engaging and made it fun!
Laurie was amazing! It ended up just being our family on the tour, and my son was so into it! We learned a lot, and had lots of spooky fun!
Noelle was super awesome and informative. Loved the vibe. Went on a date. So it was pretty cool first date and we both can’t stop talking about the places we wanna go revisit.
I've been to a different ghost tours here in Galveston.Laurie was awesome!! she gave us a lot of interesting facts. We visited a new house I didn't know of. And overall a great experience. Thank you!
Lori was a fantastic guide. She was very thorough in getting as many details as possible. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting!
Lori made this tour one to remember lots of great historical facts about the island and homes here in Galveston! Some of her stories were rather chilling!
Interesting history and a fun night. Don’t forget to bring your water bottle like we did though because Texas in the summer is hot, even after dark!
It was a really cool experience. I'm not personally into ghost and paranormal stuff, it freaks me out. I went with my son who was intersection and I wasn't disappointed. The history was cool to learn and we all had a great time as a group.
This tour is very informative on the macabre history of the city of Galveston. Laurie was awesome! She was fun and knowledgeable. I wish that they had said it was a walking tour- I would have worn other shoes!
The guide was very informative and was amazing at describing the events that went on at these locations. She made it a very enjoyable experience.
Laurie was so cool! Had a great time even in the heat learning the spookies and haunties of the island! Thank you so much ma’am and we appreciate it.
Lori was great and very informative! Really enjoyed our tour and hearing about history and ghosts of Galveston. Took this tour with my husband and 2 adult kids at 10pm.
Lori was awesome. Super informative, seemed very knowledgeable! Even helped with the Groupon issue. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Lori was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and seemed to understand the severity of what she spoke of. Great time all around.
Laurie was an awesome tour guide! Very informative of the historic information on the island. I would definitely take the tour again!
Learn so many cool facts and had an excellent guide who exaplained everything very well without any complications! Def didn’t disappoint! Thank you Lori!
Lori was very a good and descriptive story teller , tour lasted the same amount as they said online which is very good. Would recommend to whoever is wanting to learn Galveston’s history

Christopher was very entertaining and knowledgeable about Galveston history. We had a really great time. Kids and adults alike had a fantastic time
Very knowledgeable and great story teller. He really knew the history of Galveston and the families who have resided there
Online with TripAdvisor, hard to understand, 30 minutes talking about the BUS tour ( I’m disabled and can’t walk for 60-90 imputes. Showed up and tour guide did not see our reservations. She alerted us it was a 90 minute walking tour. She did find our names , advised us to call TrioAdvisor. Still waiting to hear. This survey is all I have received from my cancellation.
The style of story telling that our guide used to convey the history was very unique . The mandolin helped convey a haunting mood .
The history of Galveston told by by our great guide. Very informative and just the right amount of walking
Noelle, our guide, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the history of Galveston and where the ghosts live! She was entertaining as well as accurate with historical facts; her storytelling was spot on. We started on time, moved along at a good pace and covered a lot of ground.
Tour guide was informative. History was so good and sad. Enjoyed every min. Caught a few things on my phone. We had to miss last stop for another reservation.
Our tour guide was awesome. I can’t remember his name :( but glasses and beard. Super knowledgeable, genuine and gave a great history of the sites. I thought it might be cheesy but it wasn’t at all! Very interesting!
