Itinerary
At its height this railroad station saw over 40,000 people a day on their way to Galveston's bars, casinos and brothels. An engineer by the name of William Watson would entertain the passing crowds by doing handstands on the cattle guard of the engines. One unfortunate day he SLIPPED and was immediately decapitated. A derby hat was still securely sitting on the head they found A MILE AWAY!
SO many dignitaries, soldiers, politicians and even presidents have checked in… BUT SOME NEVER CHECKED OUT. Crying sobs are heard on the stairwells and in the halls. A Civil War soldier marches up and down the lobby in front of everybody to see. A little boy plays in the hotel rumored to be the ghost of a child run over outside the front of the hotel. One helpful ghost will even unpack for you!
Charles F. Coghlan a famous British actor sailed to Galveston to grace the stage of The Grand Opera House. But poor Charles died before the curtain was ever raised. What to do with this distinguished visitor’s body? While waiting for the answer THE GREAT STORM demolished the island and carried Charles coffin out to sea. It floated from Galveston to Prince Albert Sound before it finally made land…ABOUT A MILE FROM WHERE CHARLES WAS GOING TO RETIRE!

Our guide Thomas was great. He was engaging and funny while still giving interesting historical & paranormal information. I’ve been on a couple ghost tours in Galveston but this was the first one that really conceptualized the horror and reality of the hurricane. This tour also included stories we had not heard before. Overall, it was an awesome tour.
Great tour guide was fun and intertaining veryin formative
Lady Saelym gave an amazing tour! She really knows her stuff when it comes to the history and the paranormal side of things, which made the whole experience super interesting. It was both educational and a lot of fun. Definitely worth it—Thank you, Lady Saelym!
Tyler did a great job in blending historical facts, passion for the Great Storm being memorialized, and recorded accounts of sightings.
Very detailed, well explained, Thomas was amazing. Next time we visit we will book another. I’m a history nerd so I was listening closely to everything. Thank you so much.
Thomas was a very entertaining and informative guide. His knowledge of local history added to the experience and made the tour as educational as it was entertaining.
Tour was good, but I thought we were going in the haunted buildings not just stand outside and talk about them. But with that being said Rob was excellent and told us a lot of cool and interesting things. Rob was amazing and knew a lot and he was easy to talk to. We would have liked a little more time at some of the stops. I knew we would be walking, but I didn't realize how many stairs we would be going up and down. Unfortunately I have a bad knee and after going up and down it started to hurt a bit. I thought the price was good. This would be good for a date night, night on the town, you learn a lot about Galveston is a little time. There was a perfect amount of people in our group.
Thomas is a great story teller and we were riveted until the end! Plenty of great stories and jokes! It was a great Christmas Eve tour with my family.
Thomas was our tour guide. He was funny and very knowledgeable. Although we didn’t go into any haunted buildings it was Still very good. I highly recommend taking this tour & it very affordable price.
Amazing experience! Very educational but entertaining and tour guide made sure to add a level of interaction with the group aside from the information, asking us if we had any stories or encounters, cracking jokes, etc.
Thomas was amazing and brought the history of the island to life! We learned so much and we're entertained as well! Thank you! :)
Thomas was amazing! He’s funny and had lots of history for us, which is just what we wanted. Lots of stories and details about the past- who haunts Galveston and why! Was fun to bring family and our neighbor. Will recommend. Thanks for a great tour, Thomas!
We had such a fun tour! We went with another couple and loved walking around, hearing the stories, and getting a little spooky. Seeing Galveston in the evening was honestly eye-opening, such a beautiful city!
Terrible. We walked maybe a total of 2 blocks. Talked about 4 ghost and one legend. So disappointing. We went on another ghost tour with this same company last year and it was so good. We walked over a mile, heard lots of ghost stories. So sad this one did not measure up. Will not recommend nor attend another one.
We went on a night during a Halloween Parade so it was very crowded and loud! Thomas did a great job making sure we could all hear him and keep us engaged. He was very careful to put our safety first. If you have a chance this is a tour you do not want to miss .
Excellent tour. Tom spoke clearly and with volume. Didn't just learn about ghost in Galveston but the history behind it. Will go on the other tours they offer.
Great tour with great storytelling. We really enjoyed the history with a side of spooky. My husband has tinnitus and could hear perfectly!
The ghost tour was so fun! Thomas is the best tour guide and he really makes the tour so much better! I was worried it was just going to be a 90min history lesson, but he made it so fun and enjoyable!
The details listed that we would go to at least 3 different places and the only thing we did was go stand by the railroad museum. You don’t go into places. We walked basically 2 blocks and listened to stories. Nothing spooky or super cool about it other than our guides dog Dude.
Thomas was very knowledgeable. Amazing history of destruction on the island. And very tolerant of the intoxicated people who were in our group.
Thomas was a very knowledgeable tour guide and great storyteller, working all ages on the tour to make it interesting and fun for all. Great historical I formtion about the island’s history. I live on the island and I learned a lot.
Me & my partner had a great time on this tour! We took the Storm on the Strand Ghost tour. Our guide Thomas was very knowledgeable and he kept the history entertaining too. His dog, Dude, also seemed to be pretty knowledgeable. There wasn’t too much walking, and we did sit down in a few places which was nice. Overall, this was a fun time!
My husband & I & our daughter took the 8 PM ghost tour. The meeting spot was easy to find & the tour started on time. Thomas was our awesome guide! Very knowledgeable & entertaining. He brought along his super awesome dog, Dude. Thomas imparted alot of history to us & he was super accommodating with all of our questions. There isn't a ton of walking, more standing than walking but there are places to sit or lean up against. The tour was really fascinating, it was the first time I took a historic ghost tour. I would totally take this tour again, such a blast! It's very kid friendly so if you've got kids, bring 'em! This tour is an awesome way to see & hear some of Galveston's fascinating history.
Thomas and Dude were excellent guides! Thomas was knowledgeable and made sure our whole family enjoyed the tour. He was patient with our kids and answered each question with enthusiasm. We all really enjoyed it and plan on booking another tour next time we visit Galveston.

Thomas did an amazing job, he was very knowledgeable about the area and topic, honest, projected well, and handled the public well as he was giving a tour. I’d recommend Thomas personally to my friends and family and would love to have him as a guide again.

Had an awesome time on the “Storm on the Strand” Ghost Tour! Our guide Thomas, along with his trusty dog Dude, was not only an engaging storyteller but also a true historian who brought Galveston’s haunted past to life in such a vivid way. He struck the perfect balance between ghost tales historical details, making the tour both eerie and educational. Would recommend to anyone!

Our guide made this experience absolutely incredible! From the moment the tour began, they set the perfect spooky atmosphere—walking us through darkened streets with just the right mix of suspense and humor. The storytelling was engaging and full of rich history, so it felt like stepping back in time. Every stop along the way had its own chilling tale, and the guide balanced eerie ghost stories with fascinating historical facts. They were patient, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about both the history and the hauntings. I especially loved how they encouraged questions and made everyone feel part of the experience! Thank you Thomas and Dude!
Thomas was a great tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about the history of Galvestons haunts. We stayed after with our questions, which he was happy to answer. We even heard about his personal experiences with ghostly encounters! Definitely recommend!
Thomas was very knowledgeable about the history Galveston. He was also very quick and willing to answer my many questions!
We took the historical tour and absolutely loved it last year. Tonight’s tour on the strand, we thought based on website that we were going to see multiple different locations; however, we only went around the railroad museum. The tour guide Thomas was very nice and had great information about that area. We were just very disappointed about not getting the whole tour as advertised on the website.
Our guide was Thomas. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. He also tailored the tour so we would have plenty of shade from the August heat.
Knowledgeable guide combined history and ghostly stories with humor. Interacted well with the audience and respectful of all.
Tom was great . I am a repeat customer and will continue to come back . Every time I am in town either for work trips to Houston by myself or a family vacation we come do a ghost tour
Thomasss was the best! Took my husband for his birthday. 🎉 Knowledgeable, hilarious..Just straight up awesome. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
This was our first family ghost tour and we had a great time. Our guide was from the same home town as us and knew all the lore about the cemetery and it's "residents". My daughter and I ended up seeing what looked like someone moving behind the grave stones. I played it off until I found out later she saw the same thing. I would definitely recommend. The cemetery is so big you could get there early and tour.
My tour guide was very nice and historically informative! I had a good time and learned many new things. we caught a few things on camera too :) overall 10/10 experience all around.
If you find yourself in Galveston, you absolutely NEED to take this tour! Our guide, Thomas, was charismatic and articulate with a wealth of knowledge about Galveston history. This guy really knew his stuff! You could tell he was genuinely passionate about Galveston, which my friend and I truly appreciated. Plus, he was super chill, yet funny and engaging with the whole crowd. Thomas truly made our weekend getaway to Galveston memorable. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. If you are on the fence about booking this tour, then this is your sign to just do it. You will absolutely have a blast!!
Mori was a great tour guide and very friendly. Tons of cool facts and information. Guide knew a lot :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
The tour was great. Both the history of the city and the paranormal was perfect. Maury was great and had a lot of information to share. Learned a lot about the island and the paranormal activity on the island.
