Great time! Jay was very knowledgeable and friendly! The length was just perfect as we are seniors and really enjoyed the tour!
We had a wonderful time+ Jay was VERY informative. He's a gifted story teller. I would take his tour again and again. It started sprinkling rain during our tour and he never wavered. 10/10
Jay was a wonderful host. I had a great time with him during the tour. He is a local and had some amazing stories to share about Galveston
It was very fun and informative. For those who love history and architecture, the tour would be perfect. Good opportunity for photos. The guide is friendly and funny. Loved it.
Jay was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun and interesting! We learned so much about Galveston.
We have been many times to Galveston but never learned about the historia of the city which is fascinating. Jay Lackey (Galveston Tour Co) gave us interesting informations about the city life before and after the 1900 hurricane while walking downtown by the gorgeous houses, buildings. We highly recommend this 90 min tour and explore after the Rosenberg library 4th floor navy museum!
It was a great tour with lots of stories and facts. We went in August and so it was definitely a hot walk. Our guide did a great job and made it fun. He even shared bottles of water with us as we forgot to bring our own.
We enjoyed the tour with Jay. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. I’d highly recommend this tour with Jay.
Very informative on each story told as we toured. I researched several people i learned about. Really a good experience.
First time in Galveston...was disappointed in the beach and found this tour. It saved the weekend. I wish I knew the guides name as he gave a great tour. I didn't want it to end!
Our tour guide Jay was great. The history fascinating, the architecture beautiful. Interesting to see areas that made me think of New Orleans. Probably should have done the tour at a cooler time of year. LOL.
Easy to book, efficiently handled, and excellent follow-through. We have used them in the past with the same exceptional results..
You don’t get to go into the mansions. We were disappointed to find that out. Tour guide was knowledgable and entertaining.
It’s was a great walk with a lot of information about Galveston. If you like learning about the history of Galveston it’s the tour to take.
As a first time visitor to Galveston, this walking tour with Jay gave us a taste of the Historic District with its interesting history, facts and stories. Easy to meet up for the tour, and with just 4 people we had a lot of opportunity to ask Jay questions - he is a delight!
This was fun. The stories were great and the tour included information about the history of Galveston Island. Be prepared to walk!
Jay was awesome. Was a small tour so were able get some off subject a little and had a great time. Totally worth it!
It was a great tour. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy Galveston history.
Pretty easy walk. A lot of interesting things you wouldn’t know if you hadn’t taken the tour. Jay was easy to understand with a lot of knowledge.
This tour was fun and interesting, especially because I love architecture! There were some amazing homes to see and the stories were fun to hear.
I really enjoyed the tour. The tour guide made it so much fun and interesting that I would recommend anyone to see this guide.
Learned a bit of history that not only involves Galveston but also their overall impact in the U.S. Easy pace and enjoyable time.
Jay was a funny guy. He was able to tell us a lot about Galveston history whilst we walked by many beautiful buildings - and a few not so pretty 🤣 The tour length was just right. So much to take in. I'd recommend this to anyone visiting the city.
Jay was awesome and very knowledgeable! Ask questions! Bring your walking shoes and camera! Beautiful weather for an enjoyable walk!
We really enjoyed our tour. We learned a lot about Galveston's history. Our tour guide grew up on the island and shared a lot of interesting historical information.
We throughly enjoyed our tour, our gal was very nice and very knowledgeable. We had a great time with her!
This is a relaxed and informative tour of some of the older, historical areas. Our guide, Jay, grew up on the island and shared fun facts and rumors! We learned alot from him!
Guide was knowledgeable and fun. Lots of fun little facts and referrals about the island.
Wonderful, lots great information condensed about galveston. Walking tour of outside homes, learned why island is haunted.
Jay provided lots of interesting historical nuggets in a relaxed and engaging manner. He truly enjoys sharing his stories and experiences with others. Easy walking your - with our spry 83 yo grandma!
Guide was knowledgeable and told interesting stories. You couldn’t go inside the mansions because they are privately owned.
Very informative and interesting, I learned some of Galveston’s early history. It was a nice paced walk.
Lovely walk through the neighborhood and library. Lots of history. Not a spooky mansion tour but there were good stories.
Excellent tour. Tour guide was very informative and was very knowledgeable of Galveston’s history. Easy walking tour. We would recommend this tour.
We had an Enjoyable afternoon!! The tour was filled with history tidbits and interesting architecture.
Ms. Berns was the most amazing tour guide! Her knowledge and obvious love for her job was very evident! We were complete captivated from the minute the tour started until the end . Her stories were wonderful and we especially like that she pictures so we could better identify with what she was saying. I had my dog with me and she made sure at all times our comfort and safety was a top priority. I would love to take another tour where she was our guide . I highly recommend this tour to see some beautiful homes and learn more about this historic and beautiful city !
The tour guide knew a lot of information about the history of the city and many of the masions of Galveston.
Excellent tour. Would highly recommend. Tour guide was super friendly. Would definitely take his other tours.
Great tour with jay. Have spent lots of time in Galveston, but Jay was able to tell us some stories and show us some sites. We’ve never seen before. Planning on bringing him back some friends when they visit for Thanksgiving.
Be mindful of the weather. Might be a little warm for “northerners “. Stay hydrated and enjoy the day. God bless.
Enjoyed our tour guide she was very knowledgably. Learned some facts about island and enjoyed the stories.
Jay was our tour guide and was humorous as well as informative. Our experience was great and we learned a lot of history about Galveston that we weren't aware of.
We thought we were going to be able to tour inside the mansions but it was still good. Learned a lot about Galveston
Jay was a great guide. He provided lots of fun information and allowed us to go at our own pace. Would recommend for any history buff.
Be prepared with water if going at 1pm or later...not miserably hot, but may get thirtsy.... Actual walking was pleasantly paced, but had some uneven surfaces. Our guide was knowledgeable, pleasant and clearly enjoyed her job. She often added extra interesting facts. I bought this tour for my boyfriend and he enjoyed it ...and he loves true crime. The only addition we would have liked would have been more even more stories on historical murders that took place on Galveston.
I so enjoyed looking at the beautiful homes and Historic homes and their History! It felt like you were walking back in time!
The tour started at the library, which was very nice inside. (And cool) This tour has a couple miles of walking and Galveston can be HOT. Bring water, hats, fans…All of it. We learned some good information about some of the fancier houses and also some lesser-known ones. Jay was very knowledgeable and he has a nice voice.
We enjoyed the tour and learning about the history of the homes in Galveston. Would recommend the tour.
Jay was great. Lots of interesting stories of the island and its history. Highly recommend if you want to get some steps in and learn more about Galveston.
