It's an interesting tour! You'll learn historical things and see beautiful architecture. Our guide was prompt and personable. It will get hot-go early.
Jay is a super-informative guide and a really nice guy, too! We loved hearing about the history of the Strand and it's buildings. The "secret" side stories made the tour quite personal! Great job, Jay!
Just fantastic, interactive historical tour!
Second tour with Jay. He has lots of stories about Galveston and the buildings around The Strand. Once again the tour length was just right leaving us with lots of ideas what to do next.
This tour gives you in depth information about the history of the Strand. Rexommended if you want to know the historical details of Galveston
It was a wonderful tour and very informative for us. We learned a lot about Galveston and it's history.
Our guide (Jay) was very knowledgeable about Galveston and shared some great stories. We really enjoyed the walk and thought it was money well spent.
Very informative tour. A wealth of history in Galveston and the Strand. A very diverse community, with a lot of character!
Tour was very informative. We learned about the history of buildings and the entire city we would have never known if walking the streets on our own.
Very interesting and well presented. Jay, the tour guide , was a good story teller and even brought us into some of the most historic buildings.
It was informative fun chill awesome!!🌺 Our guide was the best! I would recommend this tour to others and her
Jay gave us a fascinating tour with lots of interesting stories and tidbits. We were the only two participants and Jay took his time to bring all the history to life for us
Awesome guide, worthwhile tour, we love the architecture and the very detailed history presented. Made a friend in Galveston.
Our guide, Bern, was wonderful and she being a BOI (born on the island), she was very knowledgable of the island’s history and places to visit. We learned so much and look forward to coming back!
My husband and I met Jay at the park and started our walking tour through Galveston. Jay is extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and funny. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We would highly recommend Jay to give you a tour.
It was great experience walking around and finding great things about Galveston the tour guide was so nice and friendly and patient with us because we like to make a lot of pictures 🎉
Jay was very good Historical and informative. Long time coming to Galveston. First time walking tour downtown. Worth it.
Thank you Jay ! We had a great tour, a lot of interesting facts and stories. Well organized, outside walks and inside airconditioned buildings talks are very important at temperature over 90F !
Jay was an absolute delight. He took us inside the historic buildings and shared interesting stories from past history. Recommend a wonderful restaurant which was great. So laid back and easy to walk. Highly recommend “Jay” for a tour of Galveston.
Great experience. Well worth the price of the tickets. Jay was very knowledgeable. We got an entertaining, thorough overview of the history of Galveston. Got to explore several old buildings. Highly recommend.
Loved the old downtown historical tour. Jay was well informed and answered all questions, even about things that weren’t on the tour. It’s nice to have a tour by someone who has lived most their life in the area and iknows their history
I'm a local with out-of-town friends who visited. Galveston has such a rich history and unique visuals. Walking the Strand, I often say to myself ... "if only these buildings could talk, imagine the stories they would tell." Jay, our tour guide, became the voice of those buildings and brought history to life as he shared fun stories with us. He gave me, and more importantly our guests, something special to remember about the character and life of this amazing, old and quintessentially "American" town. The walking pace was determined by the least mobile person in our group, which was good, but you will need to be able to walk a mile or two between parking, meet up and tour. Recommend!
Jay was an excellent guide with a lot of interesting information. Loved learning about the history of Galveston.
Jay shared so much interesting information about Galveston. Highly recommend this tour. History, ghosts, humor, he does it all!
Because Galveston’s history is so interesting, we hoped to understand it better. Jay was a terrific guide as he related that history to the area as we walked. He is most personable as well as knowledgeable. Our tour was all we had hoped for and we recommend him highly.
Jay was very knowledgeable and shared really interesting stories about Galveston. Hopefully we can come back for his Murders and Mansions tour! We have visited Galveston so many times and try to find something new! This was a great choice!
Jay was a great tour guide. We learned so much about the history and was really great at tell the stories. Not only did Jay give us a great tour but he also helped us with dining options, and finding a phone charging cable I needed.
Highly recommend!! We saw places that we would have missed if we had just walked on our own. Our guide jay was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Great tour with lots of history
Jay told the most amazing stories! And his knowledge of the area and history was fantastic. We highly recommend him as a tour guide.
Part of the group was late so we started the tour late and it felt like we were a little bit rushed through the places that we stopped. Jay was good but he didn’t end up answering one of my son’s questions. (He got distracted with shuffling our group along). Definitely a really friendly guy. Informative and seemed to like to tell the stories. I would recommend to others just don’t expect to be amazed.
Great tour, super informative and just the right amount of info for a couple of hours. Jay was 10/10 and we really enjoyed our time with him. Thank you Jay!!
Our tour operator ( Jay?) was very informative. He knew the area very well. He took time to answer questions and the tour was not rushed
Personal historical stories that allowed me to connect the dots with what I did know. Tge guide was very knowledgeable.
Interesting tour of the downtown. Guide wss very good and knew her history well. Would recommend this to others
Jay was an awesome tour guide, friendly, humorous, and full of information. It's a nice introduction to a city we had not visited before. Not too long, but definitely a good walk. We went in a few places that were free to go in.
Jay was a knowledgeable tour guide, especially having lived his whole life in Galveston. Great tour and then wonderful recommendations of what else to do on our stay.
This is a very informative, walking tour we really enjoyed. Jay was a great tour guide! He was very receptive to questions.
It sounds like a really fun tour, we were a few minutes late and missed the start, and we were unable to connect with the tour guide so that we could meet up with them wherever they were. We’ll have to try this next time. We’re in town.
The tour was interesting and informative, our guide was friendly and had alot of interesting stories about people and places in Galveston in the past.
Jay was a very knowledgeable local guide. He had local stories of ghosts and history plus he took us to places we would have never seen by ourselves. I never knew Post Office Street had wonderful art studios and a coffee shop with a trellised outdoor seating area. The enjoyed the post which had plaques showing the water heights of all the hurricanes, especially the 1900 one.. We had a great time. Caution: there area lot of steps to climb.
Our tour guide, Jay, was very informative. He presented the history of the city, buildings and landmark in a very interesting manner. He answered all our questions. It's a tour we will definitely recommend to others.
Our guide Jay was very nice and knowledgeable and had several cool stories. Would definitely recommend.
Burn was very knowledgeable, and personable. She made the tour interesting. She also always stopped ro point out spots in the shade lol. Would recommend!!
Very interesting walking tour of this historic city. The walking was not too taxing, even on a hot August day. We learned a lot and highly recommend this tour.
Jay was a very good host. He gave plenty of interesting facts & tidbits along the way. It was also good to be able to come in & out of the different places because it was a lil warm outside & the walk works up a lil sweat.
Jay is a great tour guide and very knowledgeable about the city’s history. Lived the tour and would do it again.
Great walking tour, enjoyed hearing the history of Galveston. Really enjoyed going inside some of the historic buildings and taking a closer look at the architecture. Our tour guide, Jay Lackey, provided excellent insights on a relaxed easy going tour.
Tour was great- lived here five years and took a visiting friend Saw so many things that were new to me and learned so much - history, architecture, and food.
We enjoyed the small group tour. It was an easy walk around downtown with good descriptions of many of the historical buildings and sites.
