Jax, our tour guide was awesome! She was happy, friendly, informative, and taught us a lot about Austin in a short time! I would definitely recommend for anyone that is here for a short time or an intro on “what to do” in Austin! She recommended places for us to eat or go, overall an enjoyable experience!

Joel did a great job showing us around Austin. He was so nice and kind to all of us on the tour group. We learned a history and got some nice photos. He told us about the best place to get Tacos and BBQ. He was was right! The Taco spot was a hidden gem close to our hotel and absolutely delicious! He also gave us a discount card with places to go, the name of some his Favorite Spots, and few treats to enjoy! Thanks Joel for the tour!

Evan was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and asked each person what they wanted to see and learn about Austin. After self-introductions the group loaded into a very comfortable air conditioned van for the two hour tour. The stop at the Capitol at the halfway point afforded a restroom break. Very informative—highly recommend! Evan answered every question! Note that you check in at the desk in the visitor center.

We had a wonderful experience on this small-group tour of Austin. The tour was a great way to learn about the city, with a visit inside the state capitol and plenty of interesting history and points of interest along the way. Our tour guide, Justin, was fantastic. Friendly personable and incredibly knowledgeable, he is clearly well suited for the job. Having been born and raised in Austin, with a father who teaches history, he brought a depth of knowledge and a personal connection to the city. He was engaging throughout the tour, welcoming questions all the while. Even made himself available afterward for anyone who wanted to ask more. Little personal touches like sticky notes for anyone wanting to jot something down. And he sent us off with candy and postcards! Highly recommend this experience. Justin is an asset to this tour!

EXCELLENT! Everyone who works at Austin Detours is tremendous; from inception to execution, they were amazing! Our tour was custom for conference attendees. We shared where we wanted to go, and they added in their expertise. Trace and Ike were amazing tour guides, but a massive shout-out to Kyla and team; they really helped us bring our vision to reality. Connecting attendees to Austin's charm while highlighting our organization's mission. We had 27 people, and the bus was for 54, and it was nice and roomy for everyone. It was a two hour tour, and pricing was great!

I took “The Real Austin Tour” on my first day in Austin, which turned out to be perfect. Ike was our guide, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the city. I also took the “Hill Country BBQ & Wine Shuttle Tour” with Austin Detours, and Ike was our guide for that tour as well. Having the same guide for both tours was such a bonus! One of my favorite things was that Ike gave us great recommendations for other places to visit, live music, restaurants, and things to do. Because the city tour was on my first day, his recommendations were even more valuable — I had my entire vacation ahead of me and was able to use his suggestions throughout my stay. You could tell Ike really knew Austin and genuinely wanted us to have a great experience. He definitely went above and beyond and helped make my Austin vacation memorable. My husband and I were in Austin for a couple of days without a plan. We decided to book this tour, and we are so glad we did. It was fun and interesting. Our guide, Evan, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. He even waited after the trip was over to give us more ideas for things to do. We are already planning a trip back to Austin, and thanks to this tour we have a plan. The ride is comfortable. The guide is easy to hear and understand. The tour lasted a couple of hours, and there is a bathroom break at the capitol with a minimal amount of easy walking.
