We had a good ride with Peter! He has a lot of information and customized the tour for us. The bikes worked well and we felt very safe. Would highly recommend!!
Peter was our guide & did a great job sharing interesting stories about Texas & Austin history. The ride was more challenging than I expected (hence the 3 stars). I feel you need to be a pretty experienced rider for this tour. I’ve biked a fair amount, but on open trails, not in city traffic. There are a lot of stops & starts, as well as riding through narrow paths, often alongside/passing other riders, cars, pedestrians, bollards. My husband was completely fine with the ride, but he’s more confident about navigating through traffic & starting/stopping. Peter did call me up to the beginning of the group after I expressed getting stressed, and he also helped out other riders with bike issues or riding tips. I was just surprised that there was no guidance on experience going into this tour and expected an easier & less stressful experience. They DO provide water for the trip though it’s not clearly stated. Our tour ran over the two hour advertised length by about 15-20 min. I recommend wearing biking or exercise clothes. Closed toe shoes are probably better although Peter wore teva sandals with socks. The bikes don’t have cleats so any tennis shoe or sneaker is fine. You may leave hats, bags, etc at the bike shop if you don’t want to bring it on the ride. The bike shop has sunscreen available for free; our route (in early October) was a mix of sun and shade. There is a restroom at the bike shop (at beginning & end) but no stops for bathrooms along the way.
Peter is a great tour guide! Thanks!
Peter was great. Knowledgable, tuned in to curious minds. Nice pace for different fitness levels.
Peter was amazing! Tour was awesome.
What an amazing day with Toby who was born & raised in Austin. The tour is a great way to see the city sights while meandering through the bike trails that lead you to the city capital. Toby did a great job of providing his local knowledge and expertise throughout the tour. Well done Toby ..highly recommend this tour to others
Peter is awesome! Loved it. Highlight of my Austin time
Awesome experience and super informative! Hot day but provided water and was great with stops and info. Zac was a great tour guide.
Zach did a great job leading our tour! Worth the time
It was a good mix of city and trail riding. Enjoyed Zac’s knowledge and history of the city and the various landmarks.
Zac great info easy going great guide
Zac was a great tour guide - we had a wonderful time!
Zac was great! Very fun and kept us cool w plenty of water!
We had such a fun time. Peter was an excellent guide full of trivia from history to random fun facts, To the Austin scene. I am a cyclist and my daughter is not so I felt this was a easy ride for her and we greatly enjoyed seeing the beautiful areas downtown.
I wish the tour had more ‘street’ ride to see the town. It was isolated at certain parts of the ride. And going through neighborhood I will never want to see or know about because I will not be interested in going back to that part of town. I would have liked to see more landmarks to make me want to go back another day to explore. Secondly, the path was very busy so I was so busy navigating through pedestrians to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of the trail. But Toby was very engaging and great tour guide.
Peter and Zac were amazing. Best bike tour we have ever been on. Great way to learn about Austin. 100% recommend.
So fun! I was a little hesitant to get on a bike for the first time in decades! This was great, I will do it again and again. Peter was the best, great teacher and knew a lot about Austin. This was a super fun way to spend our first day in Texas!
Pete is a fantastic tour guide. He started with biking tips and mixed in history and humor throughout the ride. We learned a lot and had a blast!
Our guide, Peter, was great. We traveled at a good leisurely pace that allowed us to enjoy the various sites. The information he shared was interesting and entertaining. Even his bad jokes were fun. We really liked this trip and we highly recommend it, especially if you can get Peter as your guide.
We did our ride with Michael on a Saturday morning. We were able to see parts of the city we hadn’t seen, so that was great! Pace was good, and Michael was knowledgeable about all the places we visited, with some fun side facts! All in all, we’re glad we did this ride and recommend this as a way to see the city.
Overall, this was a decent bike tour. The first half is through Barton Park, which is a nice break from the downtown city experience. You still get to see several city stops along the way but it’s a good ratio of metro and park highlights. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, with a lot of dad jokes, but it made the experience light hearted. The bikes were old and well used, though still very functional. This is a solid option if you’re looking for a budget, friendly bike tour. I recommend planning to stick around after as you end at a food truck circle, which is a great place to eat afterwards.
Great route and Peter the tour guide was great!
