Itinerary
Customers arrive at Barton Springs Bike Rental & Tours 15 minutes prior to tour start time. They will then be fitted to a pedal-assist electric bike, and go over the operations and safety. The tour begins by heading towards the famous Barton Springs Pool and Zilker Park area. Up next is the Stevie Ray Vaughan Memorial and the Bouldin Creek neighborhood. Then head into south Austin to check out the "Greetings from Austin" and the very popular " I love you so much" murals. The breathtaking views of the Austin Skyline from South Congress will lead the tour into downtown. Here the customers will ride through the town heading towards the Congress Bridge, home of the bats, & state capitol. Halfway through the tour, we do stop for coffee/ snacks (not included) at a local Austin spot. All bikes are included in the price as well as water during and after the tour. Helmets are required. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes for bike riding and your camera for all the great photo opportunities.

Toby was our guide and he was fantastic… just the right amount of facts paired with a bit of dry humor. We had a blast!
Wow! Great tour with Rob! Good blend of riding, stops for photo opportunities and exploration. Wouldn’t change a thing! Well…, maybe a few less rain drops….. We highly recommend this tour!
The e-bike tour was amazing! Peter was so knowledgeable about the area and so much fun telling us the history. Not only is he very engaging while talking you through everything, he is a bike guy through and through. He taught me how to ride a bike properly in no time and I found that I DO like riding bikes. 10/10 recommend
Good e-bike models. Great Guide. For 2.45 - 3 hrs the e-bike seats are very hard So after a while it’s not comfortable
This was an amazing experience! I don’t normally right reviews. Peter, was an amazing host. Seriously, fantastic.
Peter was fantastic! He taught me how to ride a bike properly, turns out I LOVED IT!!! Thanks Peter. We will be doing this again.
Peter was great to adjust to our group
Toby was an awesome tour guide!! I learned a lot from him despite being from Austin. Already recommended your company to friends!
Toby was an incredible tour guide with a personal connection to Austin. I learned so much and saw some interesting locations and incredible views. If you can ride a bike, I highly recommend this tour. It’s a perfect ride for those who enjoy the outdoors and love to do something out of the norm. No sitting in a tour bus or heavy walking, it’s a perfect outing.
Our tour guide Peter was great! He helped teach us how to ride an electric bike and shared stories at each stop. Beautiful trails.
Peter was our guide and was great to ride with.
We booked this tour as a mural tour in Austin. We were paired with Peter and he ok but didn’t show us any murals. He instead he wasted time discussing the ‘right’ & ‘wrong’ way to start riding your bike. Was annoyed that we started in a seated position. Also got into an argument with an unhoused person. While they were yelling at each other, he got onto us about moving away from the situation, then later got onto us again like we aren’t adults who can chose how we handle a situation. We made a lot of stops and got rants about history and other random topics instead of the murals we were wanting to see. If I had known ahead of time that this would be the tour, I would have booked a different tour. It was a frustrating experience to have been mansplained to & not see what we came for. Felt like a waste of time and money intended to show an out of town friend the city.
I recommend this tour if you want to learn a lot of history about Austin. Peter was very knowledgeable and was excellent about making sure we all knew how to stay safe and use the bike correctly. My husband and I were hoping to do more actual riding - we spent a lot of time at some stops and our group was large (10 people) so we had to stop a few times for mechanical issues and bathroom breaks. Still, it was a fun way to see Austin.
Peter was a great guide. Saw much of Austin and he explained so much. He was patient with us first time E Bikers!
Great ride and tour in Austin, TX. Learned a lot about the city and the wonderful trails they have around Lady Bird Lake and downtown to Congress Street.
Rob was an amazing tour guide. The route is very easy to follow along and he will show and give you an insider's history of the city and big landmarks. If you're worried about riding in the city. Rob is great at directing you where to ride. We ended up having a personal tour of the city. It was a little hard to get to the shop due to having booked during the ACL Festival. But a LYFT solved that issue. I highly recommend this tour.
Our first visit to Austin and what an amazing experience. Peter was fantastic with Austin knowledge and we had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.
Peter is filled with intimate knowledge of Austin history and landmarks. H8ghtl recommend!
Very knowledgeable and informative
Very informative and fun bike tour! Our guide Peter is quite a history buff and shared interesting stories about Texan and Austin history. He navigated the traffic and stops skillfully and made the tour fun!
Avery did an awesome job showing us around Austin. This was our first visit to Austin and I would highly recommend the easy bike ride.
Rob made our trip absolutely fantastic! We had a great time and learned so much about Austin! Would highly recommend!
Great time and Peter had the best dad jokes!
Rob and Peter were fantastic! We all really enjoyed it thoroughly!
Peter and Rob were great! Informative, safe, and fun!!
Great ride! Loved the Texas history!
We had a great time on the tour. Peter was an excellent guide with some great information and clear instructions for riding the bike. My only criticism is that there were too many people on the tour. 13 was just too many…. We had to wait for a couple of mechanical issues and it was tough for the whole group to engage when we were stopped for some fabulous info. Would highly recommend but hope there is a slightly smaller group. 10 would be great.
Awesome tour around Austin. Pete was a great tour guide.
I had the best time at the Barton Springs Bike Rental & Tours e-bike tour. My guide, Toby, was very knowledgeable, safe, and funny. He is a true Austin native and had many insights into the Austin sights. The e-bikes were comfortable and in great condition. I highly recommend this tour.
My friend and I were a little late that morning. I gave a courtesy call and they were kind enough to wait for us. Thank You. We did the Austin Electric Bike Tour: Let it Ride. Rob was our guide for the next 3 hours in the morning. After giving us the 101 E-bike basic, helmet and fresh water we were good to go. We got a nice overview of Austin architecture (building in Congress) and beautiful view of it's park (Barton Spring, Zilker Pack) and were given load of information and history... It was fun...
Rob was extremely informative and knows a lot about the city. Highly recommend his trip!
Peter was absolutely amazing, his knowledge of History and Austin was insane. Highly recommended!!!!
Really fun experience with lots of great facts about Austin and its history.
Peter was amazing! Great tour of the city! 2nd time taking this tour when visiting Austin. Thank you!
Great bike tour. Rob was chill and showed us a fun intro to Austin. It was hotter than I’m used to, but it wasn’t too bad with the e-bikes.
We had such a great time on our bike tour with Toby! He was extremely knowledgeable, showed us some of the coolest spots in Austin, and made the tour fun and relaxing. Highly recommend Toby if you’re looking for a great way to explore Austin
Rob was a wonderful and energetic tour guide! He made the experience a great one and also went an extra mile by being a great photographer :) I highly recommend this tour if you want to experience a lot of Austin and enjoy the outdoors!
The tour was so fun and memorable. We saw and learned so much about Austin in such a short time. Peter was our guide and he was incredible and so funny. He really made the tour!
Toby was excellent! Born and raised with a deep knowledge of all things Austin. Highly recommended.
My husband and I loved it! Peter was funny, helpful, & very informative during the entire tour. I thought I would be struggling but it was so easy! Definitely recommend booking with them!
Best way to know Austin! Highly recommend any and all tours from this shop. Shout out to my guide Rob who made this an amazing experience. Fell in love with Austin during this first visit, largely in part to this great tour.
Zac was great! Perfect pace, lots of great information, pitched just right. Bikes perfect, e-bike helped in the heat and on the hills. Went for food after on Zac’s recommendation which was also great at Churys
Toby is a fifth generation Texan who knows Austin like the back of his hand. He has super fun facts, lets you stop to buy chocolate chip cookies and has 14 bottles of water. Highly recommend this ebike tour to get out and about on the bike paths and see Austin properly.
A great way to see the city! The bikes were really easy to use and we took breaks and had plenty of water.
We are from Michigan and the five of us girls are on a weekend girls trip and this was an absolute must. We did leave at at 9:30 a.m. And even though it was 95°. It didn't feel like it. It was not exhausting. It was the perfect amount of exercise and coasting. Zac was great!! Good amount of knowledge of the city, stopping for key points and a great amount of riding.
If you want to get around to different parts of Austin and you don’t have a rental car — chose this bike tour! My husband and I had guide Rob, who showed us various sites, neighborhoods & landmarks around Austin. Rob was a considerate guide who gave just the right amount of history during our stops. Very interesting & knowledgeable !!! We throughly enjoyed this tour. So if you wanna see Austin or get around quickly rather than my Foot sign up for this Tour !!! PS (you do not need to actually rent the E bike because my husband didn’t…. He used a regular bike right but be forewarned…. there’s a couple of short inclines and one hill. Yet my fit 72 year old husband was able to do it on a regular bike!) Comfortable
I really enjoyed this tour! It was a really good introduction to Austin. The guide, Peter, was friendly, informative, and fun, and he personalized the tour rather than just give a canned speech. It was informative and entertaining, just the right amount of Austin history and facts. The e-biking is easy and Peter made sure we were safe. I definitely recommend this to others.
We are an active 62 year old couple visiting Austin for the first time who decided to try out e-bikes for a tour of Austin based on the great reviews and it even exceeded our expectations! Peter was our guide and we had a blast riding around seeing Austin and hearing the history and fun stories about what we were seeing. Even though it was a very hot day, Peter kept us mostly in the shade and brought plenty of cold water bottles to keep us hydrated. We highly recommend this tour as an adventurous way to learn more about Texas and this city’s history. Peter asked us what our interests were before we set out so he could customize the tour to our interests! Bonus was that we could park free in the small parking lot adjacent to the shop so no parking hassle whatsoever! You’ll love it!
Peter was our guide. He was excellent! We learned a lot of interesting history. Good pace. Funny jokes.😂
