Built as a hotel in 1904, The Woodbine is a Victorian and Eastlake National and Texas Historic Landmark. Eight guestrooms feature king or queen size beds, private whirlpool baths, wireless high speed internet, color TV with HBO, HGTV, ESPN and ESPN II, individual heat ac controls, direct dial telephones and modem connections plus full breakfast for two. Chef owner restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring upscale dining with local flavor. Monterey Mushrooms, Rattlesnake Ranch Pecans and local produce are creatively highlighted among entrees featuring fresh seafood and beef. Full service saloon serving wine, beer and alcohol. Check-in is at 4 00 PM. Guests planning to arrive before or after this time must contact the property at least 48 hours prior to arrival to receive special check-in instructions. As a bed and breakfast property, the Front Desk hours will vary guests should contact the property to find out more information. We had such a magical stay at the Woodbine Inn! Since this was a last-minute trip, I was worried we wouldn’t be able to check in so late, but Michael was incredibly helpful and made sure we could access the property after the staff had left for the evening.
The inn was very clean, quiet, and beautifully kept. My favorite part was definitely the backyard—the gazebo, flowers, fountain, and string lights made it feel so charming at night. Our bed was comfortable, and the A/C blows SUPER cold, which is always a plus in Texas!
Honestly, I felt like I was in a Nicholas Sparks movie. 😂 What started as an impromptu stop in Madisonville turned into such a special experience and a memory I’ll always cherish. We would absolutely stay here again!
Stayed for one night on our road trip! Really nice and quiet location. The hotel was a beautiful little place, really quirky and comfortable. Rooms matched the hotel clean, with a bed you just sank into. All in all if you want a franchise hotel this isn't the one for you, but if you want some quiet off the main roads and a hotel that is a little bit different than the big chains, then this is the one!
What a great stay! Michael was such a great host and made us feel at home. We've stayed at several bed and breakfast inns and this one was one of the cleanest we've been to. Sometimes places can go crazy with too many antiques and decorations, but the Woodbine Inn has just the right amount without being tacky. The parlor area upstairs was spacious and we had plenty of room so enjoy a coffee and read after a long day of travel. We really enjoyed the mostly well-stocked kitchen area (we came on a Sunday night and I think we missed out on a few items like eggs and coffee creamer). We stayed in the Lilac Room, which was spacious and extremely clean. The location is great, with an easy walk to downtown. I highly recommend staying here and am so glad we found this little gem. We will be staying again!
Stay here! It is a lovely Inn with the feeling of Dowton Abbey. The rooms are beautiful, clean, comfortable too. The service was amazing, I was arriving late and they accommodated me also made every effort to ensure I felt comfortable and had everything I needed. I would highly recommended staying here. I plan to come back and stay longer next time, I was just here for a quick stay after a soccer match in College Station. It was a great alternative to a hotel and was less than an hour from College Station.
I can’t say enough about what a wonderful place this is to stay and to eat. The house is beautiful and the rooms are decorated with the utmost attention to detail. The pricing was exceptionally affordable. The food in the restaurant is some of the best food I have eaten, prepared and presented with the utmost care and most importantly, wonderful taste. The hotel staff was exceptional and a pleasure to speak with and carry on conversations. The wait staff in the restaurant were a pleasure as well as very informative about the items on the menu. They made our dining experience a pure joy and so much fun. I hope you take time to visit Woodbine Inn. It is a hidden gem in Madisonville!
