One of the best bathrooms of any hotel I've been to. The location is great in Downtown Dallas. The things that didn't go well, the valet is very expensive, 60 per night, and slow. It took a half hour to get my car. I have perhaps the worst view in the entire hotel. The restaurant adds a 20 percent tip automatically, which made our service very slow, there's no incentive to provide good service. There is no store in the hotel, only a place where a store used to be. There is no refrigerator in the room and the ice machine was broken on my floor. The roof top pool might be nice, but they wouldn't let me use it. I show up in shorts and my hotel key card but I couldn't go swimming without my driver's license...I have no idea why but I'm a paid guest in the hotel and I was denied access. Besides the door man, I haven't been made welcome by anyone on staff. There are cheaper options close by that I'll choose next time.

I stayed here for a business trip and the room was super nice, great views and so much to do. Andrew the restaurant manager was so hospitable and made sure me an my coworkers were taken care of in the Scout restaurant and at the rooftop location. Food was great, excellent service. For breakfast the restaurant was delicious the managers were so nice! They even gave us a sneak peak of the speakeasy which we visited on one of the nights. You will no be disappointed with this hotel, the location , the corn hole, bowling alley and most of all the service. Thank you to Andrew for making our trip memorable and to a great experience. Usually work trips can be exhausting but ending each night here made it a great experience. Highly recommend 👌
Overall, not a bad hotel, but the experience definitely felt more “Carnival Cruise” than luxury hotel. We arrived before check-in and went up to the rooftop pool around 2:20 PM since rooms weren’t available until 4:00. The rooftop pool itself was honestly overhyped compared to the photos online. The website makes it look much more luxurious than it actually feels in person. There was a DJ and definitely more of a party atmosphere, but we were surprised to hear reserved seating was around $250 (if I heard correctly). Because of that vibe, we ended up going to the second pool instead, which was calmer and honestly more enjoyable. It was nice, just not much of a view. At 4:00 PM we went to check in, and that was probably the worst part of the experience. The woman working the front desk came across like she absolutely hated her job and acted irritated the entire interaction. We had already prepaid for our room through Expedia, but they still didn’t even have a room ready for us at check-in time. Once we finally got into the room, we immediately noticed a mold/mildew smell. Later on, we could also smell weed smoke coming through the vent from another room nearby. The hotel itself has a cool atmosphere and the historic building is unique, but between the misleading marketing photos, check-in experience, and room issues, it just didn’t really feel like the upscale luxury experience we expected.
Our stay unfortunately started off on the wrong foot, as we had to request two room changes upon arrival. The first room had a persistent high-pitched noise coming from the TV which was difficult to ignore. After reporting it, we were moved to a second room, but it was clear it had not been properly prepared despite being labeled as “ready.” There was an unfolded hand towel left by the sink, and the bed linens appeared used, which made us uncomfortable. Thankfully, the third room we were assigned was clean and problem-free, and we were able to settle in without further issues. Expect for the fact that we had NO HOT WATER one night and the receptionist didnt seem to really care once I brought it to their attention. Another thing to note, is that no matter what room in the hotel you are in, expect to hear frequent outside noise as the hotel is located in a busy downtown area. We were disappointed with the lack of communication regarding benefits from the American Express Hotel Collection. Typically, we receive a clear explanation or written summary of the included credits, but that was not provided during this stay. Additionally, even after combining our Amex booking with our Hilton Diamond status, the level of service did not feel consistent with what we would expect at that tier. On a positive note, the dining options at the hotel were excellent. Every restaurant we tried exceeded expectations, and the speakeasy was easily one of the most unique and enjoyable bar experiences we’ve had, we highly recommend. While we didn’t have the chance to dine at the rooftop bar, we heard great feedback from other guests, and the views alone make it a worthwhile spot to visit.
Rooms ending in 32 or 33 are notably compact. These particular rooms were not included in the recent hotel renovations. A 28-inch suitcase may be challenging to fully open within these accommodations. However, these rooms do offer desirable corner views, featuring expansive windows that provide a panoramic perspective. All even-numbered rooms from 02-12 and 24-32 have an obstructed view. For guests prioritizing a scenic outlook, alternative room selections are recommended. The bedding consists of softer, "sink-in" style mattresses and exceptionally plush pillows, which may not appeal to all preferences. The speakeasy venue presented an issue with fruit flies; I personally addressed two, and a third was observed in active flight. Upon inquiry, a staff member acknowledged the persistent nature of the problem, indicating that trap deployment and drain cleaning efforts had been undertaken with limited success. The "sports bar" is primarily a bar area equipped with pool tables, cornhole, and a two-lane bowling alley. It was noticeably understaffed, with a single bartender managing both drink and food orders, and also responsible for delivering food orders to the restaurant and retrieving them due to the absence of a runner or bar back. Overall, my experience was subpar. Considering the price point, I believe superior accommodations can be found at establishments such as Tru, Hilton Spark, or Embassy Suites.
