Excellent hotel. The location is amazing in thw Theater Diatrict. The place was very clean (our room as well as the grounds all over). The staff all the way from the Valet to front desk, housekeeping, restuarant were super helpful and nice! We were welcomed w champagne and also complimentary snacks and drinks in the room. Will definitely be back as its one of the best atays I've had in a nonresort hotel!

It was a great weekend in Houston, and my girlfriend and I stayed at the Lancaster Hotel on the recommendation of some friends. Thank you to the hotel for its friendly service; the room was also very nice and clean, as were the room service, valet parking, the restaurant, and the food—which looked and tasted great. The best part was running into that kind gentleman in the hallways on our last night, who told us some incredible stories. I never understood why he was dressed in old-fashioned clothes, but who am I to judge? In short, I highly recommend this hotel if you want to get away to Houston for a weekend.
A power outage at my apartment sent me to The Lancaster last minute, and Gary W. at the front desk completely turned the night around. He was warm and welcoming from the second I walked in, got me checked in fast, and offered a glass of sparkling wine that was exactly what I needed. The hotel itself is lovely (quiet, beautiful, great Theater District location), but Gary is what made the stay. Professional without being stiff, genuinely kind without it feeling performative. What started as an annoying emergency turned into a great little solo staycation, largely thanks to him. The Lancaster is lucky to have Gary. Five stars.
I stayed at The Lancaster Hotel for a short trip and overall it was a decent experience, though not without a few small drawbacks. The location was probably the best part for me. It’s right in downtown Houston, so it was easy to get around and I didn’t have to travel far for food, meetings, and a bit of sightseeing. The building itself has an older, classic feel, which gives it some character compared to more modern hotels. The room was clean and comfortable enough. The bed was fine for sleeping, and the space was quiet most of the time, which I appreciated after long days outside. That said, some of the furniture and fixtures felt a bit dated, and you can tell the hotel isn’t brand new. Service was polite and generally smooth. Check-in didn’t take long, and the staff were professional when I had questions. I didn’t really need much during my stay, so I can’t say how they handle bigger requests. Breakfast was okay but fairly simple. Nothing stood out, but it was convenient to have something available before heading out. Overall, it’s a solid place to stay if you want something central and straightforward in downtown Houston. It’s not overly modern or luxurious, but it gets the basics right.
Loving mid-scale hotel with consistently high quality service. Most of the staff have been working here for years and are very aware of frequent visitors like me and my husband. Perfect spot for attending Houston Symphony and other theatre venues.
