We just spent Labor Day weekend here, and this was our second stay. The location is awesome, the rooms are nice, and the staff overall is professional and friendly. Unfortunately, a few issues made this stay more frustrating than our first. Before arriving, I received an email reminder to check in through the app. When I did, I noticed that only 2 of the 3 rooms I had booked were showing. I called the hotel to make sure there wasn’t an issue, but it took multiple calls and a very long time on hold before I was finally able to speak with someone. After about five minutes on hold, the representative confirmed that all three rooms were booked, but the reservation details were completely wrong. I had reserved 1 king room and 2 double-queen rooms, but the hotel had all three booked as double-queen rooms, and they were assigned to different floors. We had made the reservation about three months in advance, so I’m not sure why the rooms couldn’t have been arranged on the same floor. The representative told me she would try to get at least two rooms on the same floor. Unfortunately, when we arrived, that hadn’t happened, and it felt like the phone call had never been made. Thankfully, the gentleman at the front desk was able to work something out and eventually got two of our rooms on the same floor. The valet situation was another frustration. On Sunday morning, we requested our car through the valet app while many guests were checking out. The app showed that we were 19th in line, so I paid the additional $5 to skip ahead, which moved us to second in line. Despite that, we still waited roughly 20 minutes for our car. I watched the valet bring out at least five or six cars that had been requested after ours. By the time our car arrived, the lobby was almost completely cleared out. Parking is also difficult here. I personally think $50 a night for valet parking is excessive. The only other option is the public lot behind the hotel, which is $35 a night, but if you return late and the lot is full, you’re out of luck. Overall, it was a good stay. The location, rooms, and friendly staff are positives, but the reservation issues and valet experience took away from what otherwise could have been a much better weekend. Hopefully, these are things the hotel can address because we really do like the property and would consider staying here again.

The hotel is a historical beauty; surrounded by beautiful historic sites. Just entering the Emily Morgan hotel feels like stepping back in time. The hotel is known for its history and being haunted, it also has great customer service and clean rooms. So far, I think the only thing needed, is for them to update the hotels electrical outlets; most of them seem loose and won't hold phone chargers in place... Also, please note (because I didn't see a sign and was not informed since I'm here with a school function) the breakfast buffet is not included and is almost $20 after tax... just fyi.
A nice hotel with polite 'ghost energy.' Some noises in the night and the occasionally flickering lightbulb. An enjoyable stay in a storied property. Props to the valet! I didn't check a vehicle, but the valet would go out of their way to hold open the front door, make polite greetings, and maintained an air of excellence despite the San Antonio heat. Hotel rooms were nicely appointed with robes and a coffee maker and the location being right next to the Alamo and walking distance to the Riverwalk was excellent. A really cool building with a lot of history. Ate the breakfast buffet at ORO and missed the amazing made to order omelet we discovered on the 2nd morning from the otherwise continental buffet. Ribeye steak dinner at ORO was properly cooked and included the fat cap with nice presentation. Donald at the front desk was polite, professional, and helpful with directions and hotel information I got his name wrong and he was polite about it despite having a visible name tag on and helped mitigate an embarrassing situation. Would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to experience the Alamo next door especially and the Riverwalk being about a 5 min walk away, which feels like 0 min because of how many bars, restaurants, and attractions are around the general area to see.
The location and staff of this hotel just could not have been more amazing. My son loved that we could walk our dog across the street to the Alamo every morning. The access to the Riverwalk and River Center was so convenient, and the hotel is unexpectedly glamorous given the low price and amazing location. The room was large and clean, and the beds were comfortable. But most of all, the staff was above and beyond helpful and friendly. They really made the stay feel special. We visit San Antonio often and I suspect staying at the Emily Morgan is our new tradition.
The Emily Morgan Doubletree Hilton is a great experience. The rooms are clean and nice, the beds are comfy, and the location is right across the street from the Alamo and within walking distance to the Riverwalk, shops, and good restaurants. The only thing that was terrible was the restaurant, but I only ate there once. Once was enough. But it is super close to all kinds of other food choices, from fast food (Chic fil a, Subway, etc.), to breakfast choices (IHOP, Alamo Biscuit Company, etc.) and other lunch and dinner options. Don't pay for the hotel breakfast and don't eat at Oro their restaurant. Other than that, it was perfect, so, the hotel still gets 5 stars. The free cookie makes up for the yucky dinner.
