We had an excellent stay at the Omni La Mansión del Rio! This was our first stay with Omni and it definitely will not be our last! Our room had a River Walk view, and it was absolutely worth it—the view was beautiful and made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel was spotless from the lobby to our room, and everything was very well maintained. The pool area was gorgeous and a perfect place to relax after exploring San Antonio. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, which made us feel right at home. We were traveling as a family, and the hotel was fantastic for both kids and adults. We also appreciated the refreshing cucumber-infused water in the lobby after spending time in the Texas heat. Location wise, we were able to walk to the Alamo, shopping, and many of the local attractions with ease. The hotel offers valet parking, but we chose to park in the public garage directly across the street, which was convenient and worked out great for us. The food and staff at the hotel restaurant Four brothers was equally amazing and I will write a separate review for them as they truly deserve it. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel in an unbeatable River Walk location with exceptional service. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Antonio.

Probably the best downtown hotel I've ever been to. Mabey the best hotel I've ever been to overall. Lots of space in the hotel rooms, very good for a building from the 1850s, GREAT POOL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND GOING TO THE POOL FOR THE FULL EXPERIENCE, and great shower quality and bathroom quality. Room service such as the food delivery and cleaners do a great job of keeping the place clean, and the pool is also a perfect size, free use of multiple pool noodles and beach balls for the public! (Note you cannot keep those noodles or beach balls.) They keep the pool very clean, a nice fancy room and a nice fancy lobby. Fun fact: in about 1953 the place was turned into a boy school. 2 students from the school bought the building and turned it into a hotel/resort. Honestly with the service there is it is probably a resort. The valet services are FREE, yes you read that right, FREE, and they're pretty good. REMEMBER TO BEING A BATHING SUIT, there is a pool. Any towels that you use at the pool that belong to the resort have to be returned to the towel...uhm...idk what you call it but dirty towels owned by the resort have to be put in the wooden thing outside that has the towels in it. I recommend staying at this resort if you are looking to stay somewhere downtown. It may be old, and not that tall compared to buildings around it but it is certainly luxurious.
For what Omni properties are aspiring to be, this one falls short. A hotel experience of this caliber is not just what is in the pictures online to get you to book, but in every detail of the experience to ensure your stay is as pleasant and frictionless as possible. This property has a few killer flaws that lead me to not recommend staying here. First, the positives. The location is ideal, centrally located off one of the most scenic portions of the Riverwalk and 2 blocks from the Alamo and most other San Antonio landmarks. The hotel has great architecture and common areas such as the lobby and pool area feel like you are transported to a time and place a world away. Now, on to the issues. I booked a "Deluxe" room. All rooms of this type require you to enter the room through a set of french doors which double as the window to the room. There are wall-to-wall curtains in the room behind the doors. It is nearly impossible to close the curtains as you are leaving the room keep privacy of your personal belongings while you are not there. It seems that most guests gave up, as you can see all of the curtains open to rooms as you walk down the hallways. I discussed my concerns with the Front Desk and received the most dismissive customer service in my life. Receptionist simply said "that's the way these rooms are and we cannot do anything about it, it's an old hotel." Did not attempt to offer any resolution. Meanwhile, the photos online are strategically angled to avoid to seeing this door setup. To make things worse, my room opened to an interior corridor, so I had a view of a wall and it made the room extremely dark. The room had a severe lack of lightning - only one lamp between the beds (which flickered once on) and a task light at the desk. I had to ask for another lamp, which the staff promptly provided. Feels like you're in a jail cell. Other elements worth mentioning - the elevators are cramped and slow, and the muffin served at El Colegio was the worst I've had in my life - tasteless and right out of the freezer. Do better Omni or get your name off this property.
This is an old hotel we’ve gone to my entire life and my mom and dad honeymoon here in 1978. It is OLD so don’t expect Mokara- that being said it is beautiful and cozy and everyone was beyond kind. The location was great and if you don’t want noise ask for 6th floor not on River. It is a great stay and the rooms were updated nicely for a SUPER OLD HOTEL- the rain down shower was great. The bar was great. We really liked it here a lot but don’t cry if it’s old it you come lol
Staff 🙌🏾 Chloe, Marisela and Melissa were always pleasant and accommodating. The valet staff 👍🏽and the Four Brothers restaurant was also a great experience. The fried chicken and biscuit sandwich was delicious! But Room 152 is not recommended. Clean and spacious but lacks the River Walk experience. Outside of our French doors is the small shared enclosed patio facing a very busy parking garage on the busy (loud at times) main street. There was a rig parked blocking our view from check in until about 1am. The River Walk being right outside the hotel is nice.
