When you first enter this relatively newly updated hotel, you think it has a cool vibe. Staff was super friendly and restaurant for breakfast was a nice space. But all this is overshadowed by the rooms. I don’t think whatever design team created these rooms has ever actually spent a night in a hotel! First, the storage is very minimal and weirdly played out for the size of the room—-almost all open and spread out. Think 80’s old dorm room. In the bathroom: very small counter space and lone shelf is basically on the ground. Second, the wall to the bathroom does not go to the ceiling so instead of a cone of silence it’s basically an amplifier! Combine this with an “industrial” sliding door that is hard to open and close and VERY loud AND you can only turn on the light outside the door, you will wake up the person with you if you go in at night. Lastly, the exposed pipes and A/C split are also really noisy because of where it’s positioned. AND, a bright light on the A/C you cannot reach is like a laser lighting the bed. NOT MUCH SLEEP TO BE HAD!!! (Full disclosure: I’m a Diamond Hilton Honors and an Elite + HGVC owner so I’m usually a fan of Hilton)

The best thing about it - it's new and well designed. But there is no privacy in the room - barn door to the bathroom cannot be fully closed, heavy and loud. Bathroom itself is not a separate room - it's like a screen. Good luck pooping privately here. Having loud AC unit for cooling doesn't feel right here.
Been here a lot in May and June during the renovations. Good News, Construction seems like it's done! It looks great. Pool is open and nice, the patio is beautiful, restaurant menu is small but Very Well done, everything is very good. Shower water pressure and volume is awesome through an overhead rain shower head. Service is super nice and accommodating. I would highly recommend. One drawback, no room refrigerators. But I think a fix is on the way. Good job Katie, Jarrod, and Sheridan at the front desk, well led by my main man, Mr. Han. Next month, they should be able to come pick me up at the airport in their new Clara hotel vehicle. August update: Mr. Han is great. Corporate, get that vehicle in service. I need the ride.
My daughter and I are staying here for the weekend for a softball tournament. The location is great and the hotel is newly renovated. Check in was a breeze and the team member was great! The rooms are nice, the only thing is that there is no mini fridge. We ate dinner at the restaurant and the server Elsa was awesome and the food was great! We will definitely stay here next time we are in the area ♡
I was a little hesitant to book The Clara after reading some mixed reviews, but I'm so glad I decided to give it a chance. When I arrived, the renovations on the outdoor patio and pool area were just wrapping up. The patio space is absolutely beautiful and much larger than I expected. I especially appreciated the variety of seating options available, from loungers to comfortable outdoor furniture and plenty of tables and chairs, making it easy to find a spot to relax. The gym was another highlight of my stay, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover a sauna, which I hadn't seen advertised anywhere. That ended up being an unexpected bonus and something I really enjoyed. A couple of things worth noting (though not negatives for me): the bathroom door is a sliding barn-door style door. In my room, the track occasionally caught, preventing the door from fully closing. Since I was traveling solo, it wasn't an issue, but I did mention it to the front desk upon checkout. Also, the bathroom wall does not extend all the way to the ceiling, leaving roughly a 2–3 foot gap at the top. Again, as a solo traveler, this didn't impact my stay, but if I had been sharing the room with friends, the lack of complete bathroom privacy would have been something to consider. Overall, I had a great experience and would absolutely stay at The Clara again. The staff were wonderful, my room was exceptionally clean, and the air conditioning worked like a dream, which is always appreciated during a Texas summer. I'm very happy I didn't let the mixed reviews deter me from booking.
