I cannot start of how awesome this place was, had visitors from Canada and they were astounded. Everyone is super accommodating and helpful, I got an upgrade just like that ! I'm not even some high tier consumer ! I requested a note and got a hand written card and champagne with strawberries / chocolate cake ! I wanted a roll in bed just incase and boom..one is in the room already and an attendant came with a second as they thought I needed another one. Each and every person on the team go way and beyond. The complimentary drinks and finger food at the front desk makes the little wait eventful ! Special thanks to Darla for her creativity, you highlighted our weekend. 100% will return, even though it was raining and the staff was helpless but close the rooftop bar, it was awesome !!

Really enjoyed my stay at Le Meridien Houston Downtown. It’s a nice, modern hotel, conveniently located right in the heart of downtown, so getting around was easy. My room was comfortable and very quiet, which I really appreciated. The gym is also decent and has everything you need for a good workout. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I’d happily stay here again.
Overall, the hotel itself was very nice. The front desk staff were friendly and the amenities, especially the rooftop bar, were a highlight. Unfortunately, the valet service overshadowed the entire stay. The hotel website presents valet as an option, which implies there are other choices. In reality, it was the only parking option, and that should be disclosed clearly before booking. At over $60 per night per vehicle, the service felt far from premium. We requested two cars at the same time. One showed up after 45 minutes; the other took about an hour and a half. Throughout that wait, the front desk kept giving us ten-minute estimates, which were clearly inaccurate. To make matters worse, the attendants were not courteous and ultimately didn’t help us with luggage. For the price and the lack of alternatives, this level of service is unacceptable. I hope management will address this, both by improving the valet operation and by updating the website to clearly state that valet is the only parking option. Because of this I do not recommend anyone stay here unless they don’t have any plans to leave the hotel.
Nice property, but indifferent service makes it feel average The hotel is nice, and I was genuinely grateful for a complimentary room upgrade. However, the service was noticeably lacking. Even accounting for the busy Fourth of July weekend, the staff seemed indifferent. On my first morning, a requested towel never arrived, and the front desk offered no apology when I went down to ask about it. On the second night, the AC struggled badly during the heat wave, and after waiting 30 minutes for a spoon, we were surprisingly told this four-star hotel didn't have one. Finally, the front desk didn't even offer a basic greeting at checkout. Small things go a long way, and the lack of basic hospitality brought down an otherwise good physical property.
Disappointed with Our Stay at Le Méridien Houston Downtown. We stayed for four nights and encountered several operational and service issues that fell short of expectations for this hotel. Arrival and Check-In: Reception is on the second floor with no porters available and no dedicated curbside check-in assistance. This made the arrival process feel disorganised. Facilities: The overall amenities felt quite basic. The rooftop bar was also underwhelming. Housekeeping Challenges: Coordinating housekeeping service was particularly frustrating. I called ahead to schedule times and used the “At Your Service” door hanger (the reverse side of the “Do Not Disturb” sign). However, this sign appears to signal to staff that the room is currently being serviced, which resulted in the room not being cleaned on multiple occasions despite our requests. This created unnecessary inconvenience over several days. Room Amenities: The in-room provisions felt inadequate for the hotel’s positioning and price. They provided only plastic cups for coffee and water instead of proper mugs or glassware, contributing to an experience that didn’t match the expected upscale vibe. It’s the small details like this that made the stay feel more basic than anticipated. Breakfast Vouchers: There was confusion around the breakfast vouchers provided at check-in. We were told one voucher would cover two people. However, at the restaurant, staff indicated we needed two vouchers for two guests, highlighting a lack of alignment between the front desk and restaurant team. Overall, the combination of these issues made for a disappointing stay. The hotel has potential with its location and branding, but execution in service and amenities needs improvement to better align with guest expectations.
