This is a nice hotel and was close to everything. Can walk to the mall and Walgreens. The room was stylish and comfy. The lobby is nice and the conference rooms were good. My only complaint was that I drove 6 hours to get there due to traffic and then the rooms were overbooked and had to wait an additional 4 hours to get my room. My room wasnt reasy until 10pm. At that ppint i melted in the bed. The only consolation was a sorry letter that wasn't even signed. Wow. That's how they roll in Houston?

Great hotel, great vibe, and great location. I stayed here on a business trip, and unfortunately the program we use for travel did not warn me about the $49/night valet, so be aware of that. The restaurant was fine, not great but not bad, definitely convenient. I would get breakfast at one of the many options nearby. The buffet is $30 and wasn't worth it in my opinion, but that's optional and a separate issue from the actual hotel. My room was spacious, clean, and set up a bit differently than I'm used to but it worked out well. I had a nice view of the Galleria. The bed was comfortable - not too firm or soft. Staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure any questions were answered and any needs were met.
The lobby smelled like Hollister—not a bad thing, just strong. Check-in wasn't cheap, and while I get adding a deposit that gets refunded later, it shouldn’t be the entire cost of the stay. The room was freezing when I walked in, but luckily I was able to turn the temperature up. My biggest issue was the fan—I couldn’t find a constant setting to leave on to drown out noise. A few other things were off, too: * The pool was closed without explanation: There were no signs posted. It's September and still warm out, so I tried going at both 7:30 AM and 8:00 PM, but couldn't get in either time. * Phone issues: The phone in the room didn't work when I tried to call downstairs. I eventually found a QR code in the room that replaced the phone function, which I used to order dinner. * Sneaky breakfast pricing: I ordered breakfast by myself from the cafe and wondered why it was so expensive, only to check the itemized bill and realize an automatic gratuity had already been tacked on. * The toilet didn't flush well. * The bathroom light was really weird to turn on and off. * Awkward shower door: It opened at an odd angle, making it hard to reach in and test the water temp before getting in. Everything looks nice on the surface, and the staff was super nice, but there are just too many problems for this price. I don’t hate the place, and I'm glad my company paid for it, but in my opinion, it’s just not worth it and I’d personally look elsewhere next time.
Wonderful experience from the check-in to check-out process! Ed at the front desk was amazing, he gave me some good places to visit/eat while in Houston. He even sent a birthday treat to my room. Ms. Silva and Kevianna in the dining area were really sweet, friendly, and helpful during breakfast each day. The breakfast waa delicious too! Hyatt Houston/Galleria gets a 10/10 from me. Will definitely stay here again when I visit. Location was great, close to great shopping area and good restaurants.
Our booked room was not available when we arrived. They offered for us to go to the sister hotel but we declined. We opted for the king bed room. They did provide a roll out bed for the kids...not ideal but worked out for the 2 day stay. Breakfast buffet was good, bar area was good. Complementary drinks for the mishap of the room. But it would be nice if we had the room booked...lol. Great pool area. Pool bar was never opened during our stay. Gym is available. Close/walking distance to the galleria. Valet is available, but it's cheaper if you park your own car. Overall holiday was salvaged by going to Galveston 1hr away.
