Hotel Zaza Austin

We had a great stay at Hotel ZaZa Austin. From the moment we walked in, the hotel smelled amazing and felt warm, comfortable, and very homey. The staff did an excellent job throughout our stay. The valet team was especially helpful and friendly, even with all the rain. Housekeeping kept the room looking great, made the bed, refilled our water, and it seemed like there was always some little extra or amenity being left in the room, which was a really nice touch. I was also impressed with the gym. It was actually useful and well equipped, with everything I needed to get in a solid workout instead of feeling like a typical small hotel gym. We stayed here around my birthday. They actually asked if we were celebrating anything, but we just mentioned that we were there for vacation and never told them it was my birthday. Looking back, that was probably a missed opportunity on our part 😂. Based on how attentive everyone was, I have a feeling they would have done something nice if they had known. The location is another big plus. We were able to walk to restaurants, bars, and plenty of things nearby, which made exploring Austin really easy. Even with the rain changing some of our plans, we still had a very pleasant stay and really enjoyed the hotel. I would definitely stay at Hotel ZaZa Austin again.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! We went for a girls weekend and were treated like queens. From the valet, to check in, to pool service.. every single thing was perfect. We were within walking distance of anything you could want downtown and anything we wanted to do a little further the hotel offered a shuttle (within 3 miles).

This review is only for the pool experience. I definitely did not feel I got my money's worth with this visit. The hotel and pool itself is nice, at least the aesthetics are there. Great views of the city. Pool is a decent size. Check-in was easy. The meh experience applies to the drinks, service, and cabanas. Oh, and the sun exposure: -Drinks are extremely overpriced for what they taste like, you pay $18 for something that you get for $7 dollars on happy hour somewhere else. Feel like we got watered down margaritas out of a plastic jug. -Service was mediocre, I think our server was mad at SOME body for SOME reason. Straight-faced, completely aloof and disinterested. -Cabana was dark; the one we were in was in an awkward corner, with a huge planter blocking half of the front. -Sun exposure is awful. There are two skyscrapers that block most of the afternoon sunlight. So we barely got any sun. Out of anybody's control, but still noteworthy if you come here for sun. For the HUNDREDS of dollars spent, there could be vast improvements....

The hotel looks nice. The room is clean. The location is very convenient to walk every where downtown. The staff are welcoming and friendly. One star taken away because the pool closed for private party when we arrived. I never understand this! Pools or hot tubs are the amenities of the hotels and included in the room price. And we picked this because they have a nice pool!!
