Homewood Suites By Hilton San Antonio-northwest

Thank you to Jessica, who was incredible throughout our entire stay. However, the hotel definitely needs a major renovation. There was a lot of noise at night from the exterior fans, the door leading to the pool stopped working, and the elevators look old and smell bad. The room service was quite mediocre; they barely make the beds, but it doesn’t feel like actual cleaning. There are many things that could be improved because the location is excellent, and the rooms are comfortable and spacious.

BEWARE: Six cars were broken into overnight in the front parking lot—and this has happened before! The good: The staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms are spacious, include a kitchen, and the hotel offers free breakfast. The bad: Overnight vehicle break-ins appear to be a recurring problem. The person responsible also seems to know where the security cameras are, as vehicles parked under the trees in the front parking lot were targeted. The hotel has posted a sign stating that it is not responsible for vehicle break-ins or damage, which suggests management is aware that this is an ongoing safety concern. The rooms were also dirty. The king-size bed did not appear to have clean bedding and had only a flat sheet. There was bodily fluid on the bedding that was not mine. The air conditioning did not work well, and the bathtub was stained and moldy. Dear Management: Please hire overnight security and take meaningful steps to protect your guests and their vehicles. Dear Potential Guests: Choose a different hotel. Any money you save by staying here could end up going toward repairs after a break-in. We had to pay $300 to replace our broken front window, and the incident completely disrupted our plans for the day.

I would strongly advise families to look elsewhere. From the moment we arrived, the property felt rundown. The hallways and elevators had no AC and were extremely hot. Upon entering our room, it was obvious it hadn't been properly cleaned (found someone’s false eyelash on the floor), and both bathrooms had visible mold. Highly disappointing and unsanitary stay. Please avoid staying here.

Overall, I had a good stay. The rooms felt clean and didn't have a musty or moldy smell. The air conditioning in the room worked very well and kept it comfortable. My main issue was that the hallways and elevators (at least on the upper floors) didn't seem to have air conditioning. They were extremely hot and humid, which made walking to and from the room uncomfortable. The only problem in my room was that the bathtub drained very slowly. I also tried to use the guest laundry, but although there's an extra fee to use the machines, they didn't appear to be working. Other than those issues, everything else was great, and I enjoyed my stay.
