Enjoyable stay as always. I just wish that even if 'off season' there was an option to rent beach chairs & umbrella for use since there is still an amenities fee charged. At the very least, beach blankets/towels for use during off season would be nice. 1911 coffee shop was wonderful as usual. Great view from our room.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Galvez. Everything from beginning to end was top notch. We especially enjoyed the pool area and the private beach area with lounges and an umbrella. Our room was beautiful. We had breakfast at the restaurant one morning and the food and our waiter were both amazing. Thank you so much!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely worth the trip! This hotel is absolutely stunning, and the aesthetics are incredible. Every detail creates such a beautiful, dramatic atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another era. And yes, it’s known for being haunted—which honestly makes the experience even more fascinating! 👻 There’s something so unique about staying somewhere with that much history, character, and mystery. The hotel would also be an incredible venue for an event. If you’re looking to make a statement with a wedding, celebration, photoshoot, or special occasion, the setting alone is unforgettable. The architecture, décor, and overall ambiance are truly something you have to experience in person. Definitely worth the trip—and somewhere I would love to visit again!
As soon as you pull up to the grand Galvez and step out of your vehicle, you know you’re somewhere special. From the valet greeting you and they ask if they can take your bags up wonderful service. The newly remodeled decor is beautiful, combining nautical with modern updates, beautiful colors. The brunch buffet was to die for there were too many options to count from crab legs and peel any jumbo shrimp to grits and eggs, Benedict fruit carved roast, beef prime, rib, pork, and the dessert tables were incredible including basket full of fresh French Macaron cookies, banana foster cheesecakes, all sorts of wonderful desserts. The staff is very courteous and very professional.! And we loved the pool and under the shaded cover on the submerge underwater barstools. Everything is top-notch and wonderful. Will return!!!
I had an absolutely fabulous stay at the Grand Galvez, even though it was only for one night! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond. They honored my upgrade request and gave me a beautiful ocean-view room, as well as early check-in and late checkout, which made the experience feel even more special. I’ve been coming to Galveston my entire life, and I genuinely can’t believe I never knew this hotel existed. The property is absolutely stunning. It’s a historic beachfront hotel with the most beautiful pink, black, and white color palette, mixed with an eclectic vintage charm that feels both elegant and fun. The front of the hotel honestly looks like something straight out of the South of France. My favorite parts were definitely the Beach Club and the pool. The Beach Club was so chic; pink decor, hotel towels, comfortable chairs with tables and umbrellas, and an amazing atmosphere right on the beach. The pool area was even more impressive, with palm trees, gorgeous lounge chairs, a swim-up bar, and the most stylish design I’ve ever seen at a hotel pool. I was completely obsessed. Most importantly, every staff member I encountered was incredibly kind and welcoming. Overall, this was a phenomenal stay, and it’s safe to say I’ve found my new favorite place in Galveston. I’m already looking forward to coming back as soon as possible!
