This was the first time I’ve been to Lubbock and we were looking forward to staying at this hotel. When we arrived, we were surprised by how dated it looked from the outside and the 80s just continued when you went inside. I did like all of the plans and water features, but the lobby/bar area was dark and what was left of the complimentary cocktail reception was paltry. The drapery covering the glass-paned French doors on the suites were silly and lacked privacy. Then in r inside, the room was just as old as the outside of the hotel. The furniture looked like it hadn’t been changed out since the 90s and much of it was chipped and in poor shape. The bathroom was gross: Cloudy, cheap bathroom fixtures, mold and rust on the floor and the faucet didn’t work properly. The breakfast was ok, but have had better at other Embassy Suites. I have stayed in very nice Embassy Suites and expected thot to be consistent. I was just shocked at how outdated and gross the property was, based on what I paid.

This hotel doesn’t disappoint. The front desk (Liz) was so nice & welcoming. The room was super clean & I look for flaws. Mr. James who does the snacks was sooooo amazing! I could tell that he likes his job. James is on all 10 toes & makes sure the snack area is clean & full. Mr. Brandon Kent( maintenance) was amazing as well. The pool was closed for maintenance, but he made sure we had a discount, for the inconvenience. Chris, the bar manager was beyond gracious & was the cherry on top for our stay! Needless to say, we will be returning & this hotel is off the charts! All areas were a 10/10! Also the breakfast is amazing, kick back hour was also amazing! The price is worth it! It’s kinda humid in the hotel, but ask for a complementary fan for the night!
Excellent stay! I am a hotel snob and would highly recommend this place. As soon as we walked in, Liz greeted us with the sweetest demeanor and smile and made us feel so welcome after a long trip. Rooms were clean, breakfast amazing and superb customer service from every hotel staff we encountered. This wasn't just a hotel, it was a delightful experience! Five stars!
All of the staff, especially the bartender, did fantastic. Very attentive. The lobby and facilities (pool, fitness center, etc) were fantastic. Looks like a jungle in the lobby/bar area, with a small stream with live fish and tons of plants and such. Very fun. Oasis in the West Texas desert. Problem is the room, which was spacious, needs updating. It was clean, but the shower faucet was basically pulling out the wall and the stopper was broken (for like taking a bath). Would stay again, as bed was actually comfy, which is most important part of a hotel room.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. It's a fun throwback to the old Embassy Suites experience. With that being said, it is very much in need of an update. You can tell they take great care in maintaining the hotel, but everything is just very dated. The staff we interacted with we're all amazing. Bathroom was tiny. I'm not exceptionally large but I am tall, and for some reason I barely fit in the shower. It was not a pleasant showering experience. I do wish they had more variety on the happy hour. I stay at Embassy Suites a lot and other ones I've experienced have a greater variety of snacks during happy hour. The location can't be beat. There's plenty of things to do on the south side and you are minutes away from Marsha Sharp freeway to head over to campus or downtown.
