What an experience! A must do. Our guide was very knowledgeable and super funny, he took us to places that the locals would hang out, I ate the BEST falafel ever! This tour was jammed packed with eye opening landscape and tourist attractions but we walked the streets like locals. We ate a traditional lunch of chicken and rice in a hidden restaurant, which was included in the cost of the tour.

I didn’t know what this tour is going to cover so I also booked a Full-Day Bethlehem, Jericho, and Jordan River Tour on a previous day. It turned this West Bank tour cover all sights of previous day’s tour plus more. It covers West Bank neighborhoods, Ramallah, Palestinian street art, yasser arafat mausoleum besides church of nativity, Jericho and Jordan river. The guides are excellent.
One of the best tours ever! Go for it!! Palestine is great, so many historical and religious facts happened there like the birth of Jesus and the first ever church in Bethlehem! Also the oldest city in the world Jericho was amazing! They stop to Jordan river as well for some time to get your photos and videos. People are lovely and welcoming! Nice lunch included with healthy food in a beautiful restaurant that makes you feel like home. The tour ends with the graffiti wall which made me sad of how people can live trapped through walls and politics issues! Give Palestinians a chance, they worth it! This tour was so unique and just for a small group. I so recommend it and the Palestinian tour guide was excellent! Loved it!
I really enjoyed this trip and met with nice people and saw fascinating places. I was however a little shocked just how much anti Israel rhetoric there was and the airbrushing of their entire biblical existence. I understand that our tour guide had a clear hatred for Israel and he is entitled to have his views and express them, however when he said that he was waiting for the day that Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Gaza and the West Bank simultaneously attacked and destroyed Israel I was deeply shocked. I loved the tour but this was not appropriate. A more balanced approach rather than constant and ill informed attacks on Israel was disturbing. A great tour but definitely would sack the guide and Viator need to be more responsible as to whom they employ. If this was meant to be 12 hours of Israel bashing then perhaps advertise it as such although some balanced perspective would be welcomed. Was shocked. I did enjoy sites I visited and people on the group were very nice.
If you are interested in hearing first hand the other side of the story and see it for yourself then this tour is for you. Not many people get the opportunity to do it, so why not take the chance? Our local guide was very good, provided different views on the current situation - political / historical / cultural. Ramadan was happening so the morning was a little slower but then picked up so got a bit rushed as we had to see different cities. overall I was very satisfied I took this trip. my advise is to take this tour directly from Jerusalem if you have the time as you gotta change travel vans there.
Incredible tour!!! It was very well organized, informative, and intimate. Our guide was hilarious and made my trip complete! Don’t skip out
I picked this tour specifically due to how all other tours were all about either religion or white-washed. I wanted to see the other side of the wall for myself. And this tour delivered with aplomb. The guide is a mini-celeb who starred in a Rick Steves documentary. The dinner at the Palestinian guide's house was brilliant! We went everywhere the tour iterinary suggests. It was all well worth the money. My sincere thanks to the tour company for this experience!
Nice start of our trip to the Holy Land. A little disquieting with the troubles in Jenin, but our tour guide was very intentional in keeping us safe.
Very interesting tour. Everyone visiting Israel should consider going to the West Bank for a Palestinian perspective. The guide (Ashvaf?) was very good and the whole day was a real eye opener. We would have loved a bit more free time to explore on our own but everything was well organised and we covered quite a distance, so I guess there was no possibility for self discovery ( maybe instead of taking us to the Christian shop?) Nice bonus was to see Banksy art on the terrible Separation Wall.
I have read a lot about the situation in Palestine but it is a differen thing to see it with your owns eyes. The guide was amazing!
Isaac our guide was great at explaining the history and the conflict. Also had an experience of eating lunch at an Arab house which was amazing. Visit to Jericho, Mt. Temptation, Ramallah, Yasser Arafats Tomb, Jordan River, Bethlehem and Church of Nativity were all amazing. Small group of 10 and nothing was rushed with ample time allowed at all the places. This a must do tour while in Tel Aviv Israel.
I wanted to visit Bethlehem and other holy sites. I picked this tour as it adds Ramallah, the largest city in the West Bank. Since it is called the "West Bank" tour it adds a level of intrigue and adventure. Like any other one visits biblibal sites in the West Bank with the addition of one stop. It started in Tel Aviv with a pick up at Abraham Hostel at 630a. We changed buses in Jerusalem at Abraham Hostel and made our way to West Bank where we picked up our tour guide. A quick note on tour guide (his name escapes me - Ladoh?). He was one of the best guides on my trip. He is very knowledgeable, very engaging and managed a large group very welll. The tour took us to Ramallah, Jericho, Jordan River (site where Jesus was baptized) before stopping for lunch. We went to Church of Nativity and Graffiti wall in Bethlehem before returning to Jerusalem. I switched buses and headed to Tel Aviv. It was a large tour with 34 people, hence the tour ended 90 min late. It was a long 12 hour day. I personally would recommend going with a smaller sized tour (I didn't find one perhaps Abraham tours can start one). The tour guide, the sites, and lunch (which was at someone's house) were all wonderful.
The Tour organisation was excellent, in every interesting spot we had enough time, lunch was very good and the tour guide was very informative and politicly correct. I have seen everthing I wanted to see on only one day and I Would have never been successfull if I would have tried to do this on my own
Our guide Ashraf was knowledgeable and professional. We covered a lot in one day, from biblical sites to modern day Ramallah. A very interesting day
Great experience and absolutely amazing tour guide. It was a very interesting tour and we got to try a lot of traditional Palestinian delicacies. Absolutely recommended
It is not easy to create a narrative around Palestine that is not too bias by the conflict with Israel and all the horrible things Palestinians have suffered and continue suffering, but the guide we had during this tour did a great job. The story he told across Ramallah, Bethlehem, Jericho and the Jordan valley was very interesting and captured our attention. We were very unlucky with the weather - it rained the entire day and Ramallah was hit by terrible winds, but in spite of the atmospheric issues we had, the tour was amazing. Highly recommended, especially if interested in knowing more about Palestinian people, history, nature and cities. The most touching thing, which I highly recommend not to miss, was the Bethlehem wall. It makes you think on how in a world in which we should create bridges among people, there's someone that builds walls forgetting that, as recent history thought us, walls are made to be torn down.
This was a great, informative trip and I really recommend it. It gives a nice crosscut of the rather varied history in the region. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fair, and the route worked to fill in the day without making it too full. I joined the group in Tel Aviv and got off in Jerusalem, so for those of you who want to see both cities this is a good option. It starts and ends at the same hostel in both places.
Tour actually was fine but I wanted to really see Jericho which is why I took it, basically just a quick visit to the tell and moved on down the road. For the rest it was fine, lunch was ok. We had a cold nasty rainy day but we did get to see everything as advertised so really no complaints other than that.
Tour guide was wonderful. He was friendly, efficient and informative. The trip was enjoyable and enlightening in every way.
Amazing tour with Ashraf (I think that is spelt correctly) across the West Bank. Ashraf was 100% the highlight of the tour giving great insight, interesting stories, and answering lots of questions (sometimes before they were even asked!) The stops on the tour were also, of course, interesting - especially in Bethlehem. I was a touch underwhelmed by Jericho & Ramallah but felt overall it was a great day
The guide was funny, knowledgeable and generous. He bought us lots of fruits when walking through the market. Lunch was delicious. However... - we didn't get to take the cable car and visit the monastery in Jericho; - we didn't get to go inside Yasser Arafat Museum. Only outside to take photos with the soldiers... There's not much details on the tour description either. Try not to join this tour on Fri, as the towns are very quiet. Almost all the shops are closed. We did visit Church of Nativity and the West Bank barrier which was highlight of the trip.
Without previous knowledge we were lucky to book several trips with Abraham tours as they are very friendly and really help you get to know the country, hidden jewels and its context. Great organization, very complete tours and they are always very helpful. I would recommend to book your tour with them.
Firstly, book it in advance. I wanted to book it one day before from Jerusalem but it was full so I had to do it another time from tel Aviv. Was picked up from tel Aviv hostel at 630am together with masada sunrise people. Dropped us west bank people off at Jerusalem to change to another bus to continue to west bank. Tour guide boarded later at palestine area. He told jokes and personal stories but very lacking in actual content. Felt like a Google search with driver service. The itinerary was good. Covered many places otherwise inaccessible by public transport. So that kind of balanced it out. After the tour we stopped at Abraham Jerusalem again and had to wait approx 30 min while the tour desk staff called us an uber on the spot (didn't even bother to arrange in advance so we won't have to wait) back to tel Aviv. Overall it's a good snap photo tour but if you want to leave more enriched then buy a data sim card to Google.
We appreciated that they were trying to cram a lot into one day but some of the stops did feel rushed.
We were looking for a small guided tour of the West Bank cities of Jericho, Ramallah, Bethlehem. We had a terrific Palestian guide as well as local guides in Jericho and Bethlehem. Our group was about 15 - small enough for all of us to ask questions and stay together comfortably. The Jericho archeological digs were spectacular - thousands of years of civilizations in one spot! Our lunch in Bethlehem was good - grilled meats, fries, salads, all served familty style and included in the price of the tour. It was fun to walk around the souk in Ramallah with our guide, taste some local fruits and pastries and chat with locals. The final visit to the graffiti on the barrier wall -- including Banksy's contribution - was quite moving and memorable. A great tour!
Amazing tour with wonderful, informative guide. I really wasn't sure what to expect as we are so poorly informed about life in Palestine but the situation is much clearer to me now and I'm so glad I took this tour. Even as an atheist it was fascinating visiting sites of huge significance to christians but the main interest for me was seeing life beyond the walls and finding out more about the history and politics of the State of Palestine. Everyone visiting Israel should see what life is like in Palestine.
This tour is a must do. There is so much to do and see. It includes lunch, which was one of the best meals I had during this trip.
One of the best guided tours I've been on. Kamal, the guide, was very knowledgeable and presented an informed and nuanced account of the conflict and the history of the region, while debunking a few religious myths in the process! The tour didn't feel as rushed as these trips can sometimes be, although personally I would have liked a bit longer in Ramallah - to get a better sense of what a big, modern city in the area is like. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a tour with a little bit of everything: politics, history, religion, desert views and food!
First time using Abraham tours would definitely use again tour was very well organised with enough time at each stop. All the guide had lots of information and had a good sense of humour.
This really was a brilliant trip around the West Bank, fulfilled several life long ambitions in one day! Saw so much and learned a lot from our guide who was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. If like me you were a little dubious about travelling to this region by yourself, then this tour is perfect! A busy day, but thoroughly worth it!
No trip to the Holy Land can be complete without a trip to the West Bank. Wonderful people, so friendly, SAFE!!!! everyone was fantastic. Abraham Tours were excellent, organised, efficient, and our guide was Don Tamer - if you don't understand, do the tour and all will be revealed. He is highly educated, highly articulate, humorous in the midst of a terrible situation, and it was life-changing for us. The best day we have spent in many years. Oh, and great food in Bethlehem. Peter and Kit, England
You must see the West Bank to get another viewpoint of what's going on in Israel. My favourite part was the 2 km walk through Ramallah. Also first time ever the 'free meal' on a day trip was actually good. We eat in Bethlehem in a local restaurant. The guide was good, but I think he could speak more. There were drives between the sight with long 'dead' periods. He could tell more stories about the West Bank. Also when we were picked up from Abraham hostel in Tel Aviv we were not briefed where to go next. The driver listened some music during the trip to Jerusalem and at the hotel they didn't recognized our Viator ticket just after a manager came. So what this tour is missing is more information and more clarification on the road. The highlights of the tour is the Bethlehem wall and the Ramallah tour, but it is important to understand what is on the both side of the Bethlehem wall
A fascinating and enjoyable tour with our friendly, entertaining and knowledgable guide Tamer through the West Bank. We saw the highlights and heard a personal account from one who has grown up in the conflict and who has a deep interest in peace. My only regret is that as our group seemed half asleep for the whole tour and asked very few questions we did not make the most of Tamer's knowledge and insights. Of course I could have asked more myself but I was toward the back of the bus. The tour was very well organised and the bus comfortable. I thought it offered excellent value for money and I would highly recommend that one add this to your itinerary when you visit Israel.
I am so thankful that we got to do this tour. It increased my desire to return and explore and stay in more of the places we visit and explore more widely. Our tour guide Ashraf (I hope I spelled this correctly) was brilliant. He managed to provide us with a good amount of detail and facts, but additionally he also gave us insights into his own life. He was talking from a very personal standpoint and it was clear not everyone agreed with every interpretation, but he was happy to discuss and engage and allowed everyone to be surprised and challenged, but without ever being preachy in any way. This created an excellent atmosphere in which people could be comfortable to ask everything they wanted to know. In a strange sense the tour shouldn't work. It combines visits to religious sites (churches in Bethlehem, the baptism site), archaeological sites (Jericho), but also allows you to see parts of Palestine that many people probably do not visit (such as Ramallah), so that you can get a bit of a feeling for life away from some of the sites (though it also makes you realise that you really want to come back to spend more time and experience it more). Visiting the separation wall in Bethlehem (at the end of our tour) was challenging. I didn't think it would move me as much emotionally - and that was probably naive. But having seen images and having read about it and also seeing the pop-culture tourism that accompanies it (maybe?) strangely, I probably thought it would be fairly straight forward to see. But it wasn't. It felt claustrophobic as a visitor and it was made special, because Ashraf was happy to share insights from how the changes over the past 20 years have altered his life. Again, he told it in an accessible way that allowed for an experience that I found deeply moving, although he didn't do it in any particularly emotionalised or dramatised way. Everything just felt very real - as much as it can when you are a tourist who can get back on their bus a few moments later - but it left me with so much to think about that I wish that everyone who visited Israel would at least get to go on this truly excellent tour. Thank you.
I've never expected what I witnessed that day. I had a vomppetely different view on Palestine. But as we walked across Ramallah everything changed. Its such a vivid and modern City with friendly people who just want to live a pieceful and free life. Our guide Kamal was amazing. He didnt bash on Israel, he just told it as it is. The lunch was even at the house of his family. At the end of the day I was kind of sad. When you walk along the borderwall and you know that they're not allowed to leave Palastine, I was reminded of the Berlin Wall. Its totally worth it and I never felt any kind of danger. Its just normal people who are surrounded by a Wall.
Hard to tell this experience in a few words, the guide was extremely knowledgeable, passionate and trustful, this experience change our lives in the sense of being there, experience the people, the places, it definitely unfold a great new vision of that special part of the world, isolated and unknown by the majority of people, my son (11 years old) was fascinated, it opens his head in a way that books can not, our guide was the most open person that we can ask for, he will answer all the questions, he took us to visit places that in our wildest dreams would never imagine, we really had a taste of the food and most important of the people thanks to him. We will have him in our hearts forever!!!!!!!!
WHAT WAS GOOD: Good value. Good experience. Saw Ramallah, Jericho and Bethlehem. We covered a lot of ground in a very comfortable new coach - but it was well paced with excellent information from our Palestinian guide. We especially appreciate his perspective - which was appropriate to where we were and what we were seeing. Lunch was in Bethlehem and was authentic and excellent. The epicurean highlight was the included stop for Knafeh, a Palestinian sweet, which was absolutely terrific. WHAT WAS NOT QUITE SO GOOD: The tour was marketed as tour from Tel Aviv limited to 10 people but in fact we were simply picked up in TLV 30 minutes late, driven to Jerusalem, where we joined 20 people on the big coach for the day. At the end of the day we returned the 20 people to Jerusalem, were transferred again to a small van which was dilapidated and without any real AC and taken back to TLV and dropped off. These logistics were not what was 'advertised' and were never explained to us - although there was an Abraham Tours staff person sitting at a desk right beside us for 30 minutes but she said nothing to us. Also we drove from Jerusalem and crossed in to the West Bank before our guide spoke a word to us. This is not his fault, as the Palestinian guides are allowed to talk to the tourists only while in the West Bank. We believe we should have been informed about this either in the written material online or orally by staff, that day. IT DID NOT UNDO THE VALUE OF THE TRIP: It was a great day with a great guide and bus. The food was wonderful. It was a wonderful opportunity to see a side to the story that we have never seen. We congratulate Abraham Tours for including this West Bank Highlights Tour in their roster. We highly recommend it.
Abraham Tours is a trustworthy tour operator in general and their West Bank Tour is no exception. Once again the tour is very well organised, comfy busses, great sites, knowledgeable guides, quality food, everything on time - all good! The West Bank Tour is maybe the most controversial and most challenging tour due to the heated conflict between Israel and Palestine. No matter what your views are, just go and see for yourself. The tour is safe and the guide we had was a Palestinian Christian, should that be a concern of yours because of visiting Holy sites. There is no propaganda on this tour. You will see for yourself and be able to make your own mind in this irreconcilable conflict. But don't expect to come back with a clear understanding of this ongiong conflict in which Israel and Palestine are duelling already for a century. Just go and find out for yourself.
Abraham Tours helps you approach the West Bank in this one day package focusing on Jericho, Ramallah and Bethleem. A local palestinian guide will help you to understand the complexity of the Israel/Palestine issue with a lot of mutual misunderstandings. This will give you the possibility to explore more later on this inextricate geography.
The tour, which left Tel Aviv and traveled through Jerusalem to major cities in the West Bank, was a reasonably hard journey, departing at 6:30 in the morning and returning at around 6:00 in the evening. Every spot I visited was interesting, the tour guide's explanations were very concise and easy to understand, and I learned a lot from the valuable opportunity to hear the real voices of Palestine. It was also good to see the current situation in Ramallah, the central city of the West Bank. However, some unfortunate points are as follows. ・The bus you boarded in the West Bank from Jerusalem smelled like tobacco. · Ramallah, we could not see very slowly at the separation wall.
Excellent tour with a fantastic, knowledgeable guide, who explained all the details, whether historical or current. Unique experience.
Sehr tolle und unvergessliche Tour. Der Guide war super. Wir hatten einen unglaublich schönen Tag. Es war sehr eindrücklich. Ich habe mich immer sicher gefühlt.
We did the West Bank tour and enjoyed it very much. Our Palestinian leader was very friendly, competent and very well informed as he himself lives in Bethlehem. So we really learned what it was like to live in the autonomous areas. From Ramallah through the Jordan Valley we went to Jericho, then to the Jordan, and finally to Bethlehem to the Church of the Nativity and to the Wall. The organization was good and it all fit wonderfully. I can really recommend this tour.
I was very eager for this tour because there are not many organized tour availability to visit Palestine, but I had my disappointments. First because the attendant of the Abraham Hostel who welcomed us was very thick (although good that I did not stay here) and literally shouted at me when I asked why he had asked us to wait in the lobby when there was a bus waiting for us outside. The bus driver was another bullshit who didn't talk to anyone, and when the bus stopped for a change (half of the people were going to Masada and the other half would go to Palestine), everyone was very confused, not knowing what to do. Something on the bus was whining every 10 seconds (which is terrible for obsessive-compulsive people like me; I literally had to put on an earphone to distract myself). Arriving in Palestine, the guide was a little too direct (he came to say "Don't ask me about the toilets, I'll tell you where the toilets are" four times - I told you), but the tour was really very interesting (visiting the wall, for example, is a fantastic and exciting experience). Another point that is worth mentioning: initially, we would spend the whole day without eating anything (!!!!) because it was Ramadan (no one got to the job of warning in advance??), but after several people complained, the guide found a place to eat (we arrived at the restaurant and there was full of people from other tours who sure planned in advance where their customers could eat. Never doing anything for Abraham Tours again.
If you visit Israel and want to look over the wall, you should definitely do this tour. After the tour you have a better understanding of the conflict. You will be driven from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, where you will meet the rest of the troops. Together we then head towards the West Bank. Excursion highlight is definitely Bethlehem with the Church of the Nativity and the visit to the Wall. You get to know the country and the people. The tour guide was very friendly and open.
I recommend it to everyone in Tel Aviv. Tour with guide, which explains everything about the locations, very interesting. Besides exciting, as the tour goes to sacred places. Imperdible
An unmissable tour to understand the differences from Israel and Palestine. We left Tel Aviv on our way to the Jordan River, where Jesus is said to have been baptized. Afterwards we went to Jericho, with a visit to the remains of the ancient city. Next we went to Ramallah which is the economic capital of the Palestinian state, where we saw the tomb of Arrafat The guide, Don Tamer, was exceptional, he took us to the market and to a bakery, in both places he bought fruit and pastries for us, treating us like guests and not just tourists Afterwards we went to Bethlehem for the basilica of the nativity. We had a very good lunch, outside Bethlehem After lunch, we went to see the separation wall that runs along Bethlehem and separates it from Israel The tour includes Banksy graffiti and at the end of the day a relaxing and cool break at the hotel - Banksy museum It 'was a fantastic day, immersed in a reality just touched at school and finally deepened and happens- Having a Palestinian leader was the smartest solution and not obvious given the political situation My feedback is definitely positive and I will always have a beautiful memory sabrine
Incredibly well organized tour, where you feel well taken care of and safe and you get such a wonderful friendly relationship with these lovely committed guides who keep your spirits up all day despite the heat. You get very good information about the area, the conflict and history and get to experience life in the Palestinian cities where people cheerfully expressed Welcome! When you passed. The food included was absolutely amazing!! Bring an extra charger for your phone, water and a hat for the sun. And hand wipes so you are good to go!!
We went on a tour of the West Bank with this agency and enjoyed it very much. The guide, Kamal, was very prepared and engaging. Only note: one hour late for departure, but the program was fully respected without haste (so it would have been enough to write on the website the real departure time, so we would have avoided the upsurge). In any case, the evaluation of the trip is overall positive.
