Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. On paper, it has a great location and is part of a well-known chain. But the minute you step inside, it’s very disappointing. We stayed from Thursday to Saturday and came with a car. We asked about parking, and they have a small parking lot that is always full. If you do manage to get a spot, it will cost you 180 NIS per day. The hotel was very outdated, and the wear and tear could be felt all over the property. Dirty carpets, stains, old and damaged furniture in the rooms, and more. Our first room had black mold on the wall and smelled terrible. We immediately changed rooms. The second one was okay, but again, not worth the price this hotel charges. During Friday and Saturday, they had only one person at the front desk. The hotel was in chaos, and we had to wait quite a while for help. On top of that, the guests in the room next to us smoked inside and played loud music. We complained multiple times. Security came once but did little to nothing about it. The food was edible, but not as good as most Israeli hotels. Moreover, the tablecloths and silverware were dirty every time we came to eat. The pool was clean and fine, but it is poorly positioned. It is in the shade for most of the day, which makes the water freezing to get into. I’m giving the hotel one star because of the poor value for money. In my opinion, it is closer to a two-star hotel by European standards.

A major disappointment the hotel has not kept up with the times We stayed at Herods Tel Aviv about 15 years ago, on the evening of our wedding, so we had a certain expectation when we decided to return this year, during Rosh Hashanah, for two nights. Unfortunately, our impression was that the hotel has essentially stayed in the same place – and in some respects, has actually deteriorated. The hotel's biggest, and almost only, advantage is its fantastic location, directly on the beach. Other than that, the hotel is in need of a serious renovation and fundamental maintenance. The facilities are old, the level of upkeep is minimal, and considering the price we paid, we expected a significantly higher standard. The cleanliness was the biggest disappointment. The floor in our room, which is made of parquet, was sticky. You could actually feel your feet sticking to the floor as you walked. It gave us the clear impression that the room had not been properly cleaned. The bathroom was also not in an acceptable condition for a hotel of this standard. The shower was covered with mold. I am attaching photos so that everyone can see the condition and judge for themselves. We also had an unpleasant experience regarding service. I had medication with me that must be kept refrigerated. I went to the front desk to ask for help, but unfortunately, the receptionist showed very little interest and did not provide a solution. She sent me to the kitchen, where I was told they could not help and that I should go back to reception. Eventually, the hotel's Guest Relations Manager, Imi, was very kind, took responsibility, and helped resolve the issue. She deserves credit for that. As for the food – reasonable plus, and actually quite good. I would give it around 80 out of 100. However, when it comes to the hotel's overall condition, maintenance, cleanliness, and general feeling, there is a need for fundamental improvement from the ground up, not just cosmetic fixes. I can already imagine the hotel's response: "Thank you for your feedback. We will take it into consideration and improve..." Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not put much weight on a response like that. Look at the photos and judge for yourselves. To be clear: in my opinion, Herods Tel Aviv is no longer a luxury hotel. It is, at best, an average hotel and, in several respects, below average – with cleanliness and maintenance being the most significant problems. The location is excellent. The food is good. But the cleanliness, maintenance, and facilities require a fundamental overhaul. Bottom line: Location – excellent. Food – good. Cleanliness, maintenance, and facilities – significant room for improvement.
We stayed at Herods Tel Aviv over the weekend (Friday–Saturday), and unfortunately our experience was far below our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was crowded, lengthy, and poorly organized, creating a disappointing first impression. The room we received was small and not properly maintained. In addition, the hotel corridors were dirty and appeared neglected. Overall, the level of cleanliness and maintenance did not meet the standards we expected from a hotel of this category. The pool area was particularly disappointing. The pool itself is very small considering the number of guests, and there are not enough seating areas available. There is also no comfortable, well-organized area to sit after ordering food from the pool bar. During busy hours, the area becomes extremely crowded, making it very difficult to navigate with children or a baby stroller. It is unfortunate because a hotel at this price level should provide a much better guest experience. We hope the management takes these comments seriously and improves the service, cleanliness, and overall maintenance of the property.
Very disappointed with our experience at Herods Tel Aviv. There was a misunderstanding regarding the breakfast price because a receptionist had given us incorrect information. Instead of handling the situation professionally and respectfully, another staff member at the reception spoke to us in a very rude and inappropriate way. The attitude was honestly shocking and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Mistakes can happen, but speaking to guests disrespectfully is unacceptable, especially in a hotel of this standard. Sadly, this completely ruined our experience.
The rooms were incredibly big! (A bit old fashion)With so much space to put all the luggage. And the balcony with the beach view was incredible! just a pleasure to stay! The staff and service were also incredibly nice and helpful. Location was great, a bit far from center but worth the landscape for that. Breakfast was delicious and also dinner, lots of options. Overall, I definitely recommend Herods hotel if you search to have fun, watch the beach and feel the breeze from the balcony and enjoy a great service.
