Discover castles on hill overlooking the city where Sultan, Moulay Ismail built his palace and the gardens called Dar el Makhzen.
Beverage break, as It is quite an icon for the most international, bohemian and free Tangier. In 2021 it had its 100th anniversary and at its table sat such distinguished figures as The Rolling Stones and the writers Paul Bowles, Juan Goytisolo and William S. Burroughs. There was a time in which Café Hafa acted as a powerful magnet for bohemian and creative characters from all over the world. Now, little remains in Café Hafa of its counterculture identity but it is still a point of reference for any curious traveller who visits Tangier.
You will discover the The American Legation in Tangier. The only US Historic Monument located outside American soil. It hosts the Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies taking pictures.
they will walk towards Moshe Nahon's synagogue Located on a dead end street off the rue des Synagogues in the Beni Idir quarter of the Tangier medina, this synagogue was constructed in the 19th century by Moïse Nahon, a prominent educator and scholar from an influential Jewish family in Tangier. The synagogue ceased activity in the second half to the 20th century.
The Place du 9 April 1947 or, quite simply, April 9, is the most emblematic space in the historic center of Tangier. This unmissable place serves as a large courtyard from which you can reach the various places of interest in the surrounding area. If Place de France is the epicenter of the Ville Nouvelle (new district of Tangier), Place du 9 April fulfills the same function. The travelers will experience and discover the vibrant and dynamic part of Tangier, we will introduce them to the monuments they will see there and take photographs

Do not waste your time or money. This was by far the worst tour I have ever done, and I have done many tours, including many free tours. Rayan messaged me that morning that his uncle Sami would be meeting me at the ferry terminal and taking me on a tour. I’m not sure if Sami has ever led a group before, but his guidance and the tour itself were terrible. 1. He took no less than 15 personal phone calls during the two hours we were together. He had full conversations with these people, out loud on speakerphone, DURING the tour. 2. Sami led us to 2 difference shops where we were told to sit down and watch/listen to a sales pitch. One was a rug seller and the other was selling Moroccan hair and body products. These were hard-sell sales pitches, where they clearly expected us to buy, and Sami was certainly expecting to receive some sort of commission off the sales. It was like having to sit through a timeshare sales presentation, total nightmare and waste of my precious vacation time. It was just me and two other womenin my group. One woman finally bought two rugs, then they let us go. While we endured, Sami waited outside and talked to more people on his phone. 3. When Sami was talking, I couldn’t hear him. We were walking in a single file line. He was standing at the front of the group and facing forward, voice projecting forward. It was baffling, and incredibly frustrating. I finally stopped him and told him that we couldn’t hear what he was saying, and asked if he could face us. He made a half-hearted attempt, but it was as if he has never lead a group before and had no concept of how to communicate to more than one person. 4. He was late picking me up, and I had no way to contact him. I messaged and called Rayan and he was unresponsive, so I was left standing in front of the mosque (meeting point) by myself with no idea what was going on. Rayan could have told me that Sami was picking up the two other women from the ferry arriving an hour after mine, but he didn’t. 5. The night before my tour, Rayan contacted me on WhatsApp and asked me to send a photo of myself so he could ” get to know me better”. I thought that was a very odd request, especially since my photo is on WhatsApp. The one positive is that we did some walking around the city. My favorite time in Tangier was once I separated from the group and had lunch on my own. After that, I headed back to the port and couldn’t wait to get back to Spain.
Not great. The guy did not meet us at the port; we had to walk to a mosque. He did provide a cab so we could get up the hill quickly and join the others for tea. We don’t think we saw anything on the advertised agenda, other than the Kasbah and the Sook. He did take us to a rug shop and an apothecary which no one wanted to go to, nor asked for. These stops were not appreciated nor wanted. He did leave the group for about 15 minutes to help one of the participants. He really didn’t tell us he was leaving for an extended period of time he was MIA and we just waited for him. Bottom line… We would not recommend this Tour.
We enjoyed our walking tour of Tangier. Rayan was an excellent and thoughtful guide. He brought us to many interesting places and was happy to share the history and culture with us. Shukran Ryan!
This tour is excellent if you want to get away from the tourist areas and experience the real Tangiers. We sampled fresh baked treats and wonderful coffee and finished the tour at a fantastic local restaurant where the food was absolutely delicious.
Sammi was knowledgeable guide, raised in Tangiers. An excellent way to get to grips with the Old Town before solo exploring.
Communication was good, pick up at port on time. Sami our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke very good English
Sammy was very knowledgeable about Tanger. He knows everyone and if you ask the questions, he will certainly have a story to tell. We dis not have confirmation of the time of the tour until the day prior, so it was a bit difficult to organise the Ferry. It is also a bit annoying to be solicited by merchants. Some were recommended by Sammy others were not. I want to mention that Sammy did not put pressure on us. Overall great experience!
It was a wonderful experience! Much more than expected! Amazing!! Learned a lot about history, Moroccan culture, religion. Beni, our guide, did an outstanding job!! He is great!!!
The walking tour in Tangiers was excellent , Sami was an experienced guide and was very knowledgeable and friendly . We would highly recommend this tour
Just what we wanted. A morning tour that gave us lots of information about Tangier and its people and then left us time to look about on our own before getting the ferry back to Tarifa. Easy to book and good communication before the tour. The guide was friendly with excellent communication skills. There was no pressure to buy anything in the one shop we entered. Would definitely recommend
We enjoyed our walking tour of the kasbah and medina in Tangier with Rayan. He gave us the cultural background and answered all our questions. The stop for tea was delightful. We highly recommend this tour.
Exploring the Kasbah, Medina, and souks with Mehdi was one of the best decisions we made during our stay in Tangier. He was knowledgeable, approachable, and clearly passionate about sharing the history and culture of his city. What stood out was how comfortable he made the entire experience. Whether we were walking through busy markets or quiet residential streets, Mehdi always had something interesting to share. The tour felt authentic, informative, and fun all at the same time. It was a wonderful way to discover the heart of Tangier.
The guide was nice and communicative and took me to a lot of places that were local to get a more authentic feel to life as a local.
This walking tour in Tangier was one of the highlights of our trip. The guide was very professional and shared fascinating stories about the Medina, local culture, and history. We discovered hidden spots we would never find on our own. Highly recommend!”
Said was an excellent tour guide and knew EVERYONE where we walked. He was informative, spoke several languages and helped us navigate the shopping and vendors. We did take an alternate route at one time that took us up, Up and still UP. It was a bit hard for this older group but we made it and had a VERY ENJOYABLE day! You can’t go wrong if Said is your guide!
We had a wonderful day with Said in Tangier! He was easy to communicate with before the tour, and was at the meeting place just off the port early! Tangier has a lot of hills, and his help with my husband who uses a mobility scooter was invaluable! Just an FYI, the walk up to the Kasba was intense! Said was very flexible in taking us to the spice market area and into a shop for high quality argan oil. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He took us through all of the quarters of Tangier and seemed to known by everybody! We even ran into him in a cafe after the tour, and he helped us order a nous nous!
Had an authentic exposure to Moroccan culture and shopping with a genuine guide in the medina and a city sightseeing tour
Very nice walking tour through the old, traditional Medina. Momo showed us many interesting shops, small streets and interesting houses. And he let us try some local food. We were able to add a driving tour before the walking tour, so we saw a lot of what is outside Tanger. Timing was very good, so that we reached our shuttle bus to the cruise ship with no problem. One advice for those coming with a cruise ship: make sure that you have Wi-Fi connection one or two days in advance, because they sent you all the information about the meeting place and time.
We had a great walking tour with Mustafa. He managed to show us the sights of Tangier whilst mainly missing the big groups. He was a fount of knowledge which he shared with us making our time pass quickly. We saw local life as well as the tourist hot spots. Be aware this is a tour with lots of walking in narrow streets, up & down hill. You will certainly get your daily steps in, but it is an enjoyable way to do it!
Our guide was very knowledgeable and patient with my group of 6 definitely met our expectations. Mohammad was early and waiting on us which was great
Khadija gave us an interesting and informative tour of the old and new city, stopping at the fish and vegetable markets, grand socco, Cafe Hafa with its incredible ocean view, Grand Ville hotel - Matisse’s room and more.
Mehdi was very knowledgeable about the sights of Tangier and it was great seeing the Medina with him. He was very responsive and asked what we were interested in seeing. We would highly recommend Mehdi and the Tangier walking tour.
Mehdi was a fantastic guide in the Old Medina, casbah and the delicious food of his father. The best Moroccan cuisine I have have in my month long stay in Morocco. He showed me the Berber market and I got the best deal ever. I have purchased carpets and Kalims in Turkey and from Iran. These prices were the best. They gave me a silk runner for free. I returned to his father's restaurant where I had eaten a few hours before for pastille and limon juice on his father and his amazing restaurant called Vandalis . Mehdi and Abdul his father treated me like a king. Please come and meet Mehdi and his entire family. You are welcome to Tangiers.
My wife and I recently visited Tanger. We wanted to tour the old town/medina. We located Rayan with Mouha Tours. Rayan showed us around the medina, visiting carpets stores, jewelry stores, and several other traditional stores. He then took us to an amazing restaurant for authentic Moroccan food. Rayan did an amazing job showing us around Tanger, and I would highly recommend Mouha Tours if you come to visit Tanger.
These brothers were excellent tour guides, friendly knowledgeable, well known all around tangier. If you need food, burbor goods, tobacco, and walking through the maze of the medina with confidence. they are local celebrities, everyone calling hello and coming to greet you as a friend, sharing tea, hooka and stories ofc the city, the history of the people. if not for them i would have been lost and alone. with them tangier was completely open to me. cannot recommend more. 10 stars, five foot each brother.
De Medina ontdekt met behulp van de gids van Nadya.tours. Deze gids had veel kennis van zaken. Het Engels was soms iets minder maar zijn Frans, Spaans en Portugees waren excellent.
Fabulous day with Moha! The highlight of our trip. He is kind and charming; it feels like you have known him your whole life from the very first moment. The perfect day was coordinated from the hotel pickup to the ferry trip, the day in Tangier, and the return to the hotel. Morocco is beautiful, intriguing, and very fun. I wish we had stayed longer; we will definitely return. Ali knew the whole area very well. We enjoyed seeing the Caves of Hercules, the Kasbah, the Medina, Cape Spartel, and all the other places. Mouh took the best photos of everything. I loved the camel ride on the beach. Huge and excellent meals at wonderful restaurants. I highly recommend
Nice, interesting tour, I would avoid the time wasted in the shops. Always pleasant with a guide who can show us things we would miss just by visiting on our own
A tour full of useful information to understand Tangier and the medina Thanks to Farid, who was able to share all the history of the city with us
Excellent tour with Rayan, we took a tour to the roots of the old Medina and the information was always interesting. I highly recommend it.
