What a fantastic guide Mohammed is. We did a three hour tour of the Kasbah and Medina and could not have asked for a better tour guide. He is personable, friendly, smart and knows everybody in the Medina and Kasbah. Do not hesitate Booking with him because he’s the best guide I have had in a cruise port. We learned so much about Tangier from Mohammed, who has grown up here. He speaks perfect English is personable, friendly, and an amazing guide.

The Grand Socco of Tangier is a lively square connecting the old medina with the modern city. Surrounded by colonial-era buildings, cafés, and shops, it’s a hub of daily activity where vendors sell fresh produce, spices, and handicrafts. Key landmarks include the Sidi Bou Abib Mosque and the Mendoubia Gardens. Historically, it played a crucial role in Morocco’s independence when Sultan Mohammed V gave a speech here in 1947. Today, it remains a vibrant cultural and social gathering place in the heart of Tangier
The Kasbah of Tangier is a historic fortress overlooking the medina and the Strait of Gibraltar. Once a sultan’s residence and military stronghold, it now reflects the city’s rich heritage. Within its ancient walls, visitors can explore narrow alleys, whitewashed houses, and the Kasbah Museum, housed in the former Dar el Makhzen palace, showcasing Moroccan art and history. The Kasbah also offers stunning panoramic views of the city and sea, making it a must-visit destination for history lovers and travelers seeking Tangier’s authentic charm.
The old city of Tangier, or medina, is a labyrinth of narrow alleys, whitewashed buildings, and lively souks that reflect the city’s rich history and multicultural influences. Enclosed by ancient walls, the medina is a place where past and present blend seamlessly, offering visitors a glimpse into traditional Moroccan life. Within the medina, the artisan markets are a treasure trove of local craftsmanship. Stalls and small shops overflow with handmade goods, including intricate carpets, colorful ceramics, finely crafted leatherwork, and traditional brass and silverware. Skilled artisans can often be seen at work, preserving centuries-old techniques passed down through generations. Exploring the medina’s markets is a sensory experience, with the scent of spices, the sound of merchants calling out their wares, and the vibrant colors of textiles and handicrafts. Whether searching for a unique souvenir or simply soaking in the atmosphere, the old city and its artisan markets
The Kasbah Museum of Tangier, housed in the former Dar el Makhzen palace, is a cultural gem that showcases Morocco’s rich history and artistic heritage. Once the residence of sultans, this grand palace features stunning Andalusian-style courtyards, intricate mosaics, and traditional woodwork. The museum’s collection includes archaeological artifacts, ancient maps, ceramics, and historical manuscripts, offering insight into Tangier’s role as a crossroads of civilizations. One of its highlights is the famous Map of al-Idrisi, a medieval world map created for the Norman King of Sicily. Surrounded by lush gardens, the museum also offers breathtaking views of the city and the sea, making it a must-visit for history and culture enthusiasts
The Moshe Nahon Synagogue is one of Tangier’s most important Jewish heritage sites, reflecting the city’s rich multicultural history. Built in the 19th century, this beautifully restored synagogue is located in the heart of the old medina, offering a glimpse into the once-thriving Jewish community of Tangier. Inside, the synagogue features elegant Andalusian-style architecture, with intricate tilework, wooden furnishings, and a beautifully preserved Torah ark. The prayer hall, with its vibrant blue and white decor, creates a serene and spiritual atmosphere. Although no longer in regular use, the synagogue now serves as a cultural and historical site, welcoming visitors interested in learning about Tangier’s Jewish legacy. It stands as a testament to the city’s diverse past and the coexistence of different cultures and religions throughout the centuries
The American Legation Museum in Tangier is a historic and cultural landmark, symbolizing the long-standing diplomatic ties between Morocco and the United States. Housed in a beautiful 19th-century building within the medina, it was the first American diplomatic property outside the U.S., gifted by Sultan Moulay Suleiman in 1821. The museum showcases a diverse collection of artwork, historical documents, and artifacts that highlight the shared history between Morocco and the U.S. Exhibits include paintings, vintage photographs, and the famous Paul Bowles Wing, dedicated to the American writer who made Tangier his home. Beyond its historical significance, the museum serves as a cultural center and research library, attracting historians, artists, and visitors interested in Tangier’s unique past. Its elegant courtyards and Andalusian-style architecture make it a hidden gem in the heart of the old city.

Travel guide was polite & very friendly, helpful. He changed the tour to meet our individual needs. He organised a driver for us as well. Well organised tour. Would highly recommend it !
Hi, we had today a local tour with Mohammad and it was smooth and interesting. He is very knowledgeable about history of the city and the buildings - he is funny and flexible. We stopped whenever we needed to take a photo or take a break! I would highly recommend him as a tour guide in Tangier whenever you decide to visit the city! Would love to be back.
We had Mustafa as our guide through an extensive tour of the old city of Tanger, the casbah, the Medina, if I could give Mustafa 10 stars I would. His local knowledge and access to hidden gems, gave us more than my wife and I thought possible.
We had a pleasant day touring Tangier with this guide. He was friendly, spoke excellent English, knew the city well, and showed us the major sights. He was also very helpful with taking photos and made sure we saw some great viewpoints around the city. Travelers should be aware that the tour included several shopping stops at rug, ceramic, jewelry, and cosmetic/oil shops that we were not expecting. The guide was courteous and did not pressure us when we declined to buy. If you book with him, I recommend discussing in advance whether you want shopping stops included and, if so, what kinds of shops interest you.
We had a really nice 3-hour walking tour with our guide Mohammed. From the beginning, he was punctual, welcoming, and easy to talk to. He took us through the Medina, the Kasbah, and some quieter streets that we probably wouldn’t have discovered on our own. What we liked most was that the tour didn’t feel rushed or too “touristic” — it felt natural and authentic. Mohammed shared a lot of interesting information about the history, culture, and daily life in Tangier, but in a simple and clear way, not overwhelming. He was always patient with our questions and made sure everyone in the group was comfortable. At one point, we stopped for a short break, which was very appreciated. It honestly felt more like walking around the city with a local friend than being on a typical tour. Overall, it was a great experience and a perfect way to get to know Tangier in a few hours. We definitely recommend Mohammed to anyone visiting the city.
We booked a free tour with Mohamed via Guruwalk. It was a really great experience. He was on time, extremely welcoming, and very knowledgeable. The whole thing lasted about 3 hours, and took us all through the Kasbah, the Medina, the Grand Socco, and the Petit Socco. At one point, my wife needed a restroom and he quickly found a local spot for her. I was even able to grab a quick cafe to walk with when we ducked in. The tour was booked in english, but a few folks who spoke spanish showed up as well. He was able to speak to everyone well, and answered everyone's questions thoroughly. We'd been in Tangier for a week and a half already, so we had a bunch of questions about local life and Mohamed was a wealth of knowledge. He explained culture, customs, history, and even helped us with some basic Dajira phrases. Guruwalk recommended a 15-50 euro tip per person, which we felt was very reasonable given the experience. Mohamed did a great job and he definitely deserves to be paid well for sharing this beautiful city with us.
We had a very nice tour with Mohammed, he showed a lot of knowledge related to the La Medina, very friendly and really allowing us to enjoy the city not rushing during the tour. He shared with us several places and restaurants to visit. Highly recommended
We were greeted by Muhammad after stepping off the Viking tour bus. He offered us a private tour at a good rate and helped us to get amazing photos in Tangier Morocco. He brought us into markets and shops where we purchased beautiful Moroccan mirrors and pointed out film sites for famous movies. Mohammed was knowledgeable and friendly and made our day an exciting experience we’ll never forget. It was one of our best experiences on our Viking tour.
Mohammed gave us a great tour of Tangiers. We went to places we would never have discovered on our own and experienced a real flavour of the place .
We had a great time with Mohammad . He knew all the the good places to visit in the old Kasbah and souk. Everyone knew Mohammad as we went on our Tour as he is a local. My wife had to use a walking stick and Mohammad got us a taxi to the top of the Souk and then worked our way down rather than start at the bottom and go up. Very thoughtful. He also recommended a restaurant for lunch which was excellent. Cafe Dado. Would thoroughly Mohammad
Mohammed was a good guide to walk us through the old city. He took us to great spots to take photos and explained history of various old attractions nicely.

Best Tour ever! Mohammed is a really friendly and nice guy. He is patient and showed me around the whole city. Even some secret spots. He knows much about the history of tanger and takes his time to answer every question. I can really recommend his tours. Thank you for that great day!
Mohamed was an amazing tour guide for our Moroccan trip! He was flexible and met our needs. He found restaurants that were miraculously open during Ramadan and every choice was delicious! He took us to the beach, the blue city of Chefchaouen, and all around the hidden gems of Tangier. Traveling to Morocco as a single woman can be intimidating, but Mohamed served as a great support, guide, and translator. I have recommended him to friends before and I will continue to do so!
Muhammed was great and very patient with us. Good advice for shopping too. Taste the best tea.
Wonderful! Super competent and smooth ❤️
Mohammed was an outstanding guide for us – always helpful, well-organized, and with an impressive network of contacts. No matter what it was about: Mohammed always had a solution ready and was never too shy for any task. Our first day began with a city tour of Tangier. Mohammed arranged for us a German-speaking guide who was truly excellent. With a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm, he showed us the city and introduced us to the history, culture, and life in Tangier in a very interesting and entertaining way. On the second day, we visited the "Blue City" of Chefchaouen. There too, Mohammed had organized a German-speaking guide for us. The gentleman was already 84 years old and led us through the city with astonishing energy – from top to bottom and back again. He showed us all the sights and told many exciting stories. We were impressed and glad to have had him by our side. Some of us were sweating more along the way than our guide! The third day was all about action and fun. Mohammed organized a quad tour for us, which was a real highlight. We had a lot of fun, great views, and a good dose of adventure. We did not regret it for a second. Conclusion: Anyone looking for a reliable, dedicated, and friendly guide will find exactly what they need with Mohammed. He takes care of everything, has a solution for every situation, and approaches his work with passion. A true jack-of-all-trades, always in a good mood and willing to fulfill any request. We can wholeheartedly recommend Mohammed and would go on tour with him again at any time. Thank you very much, Mohammed – you made our stay something special!
It was an excellent experience, the guide assisted us at all times with clear and friendly explanations.
Sisters trip and lucky to coincide with Mohammed to visit Tangier! Very good guide, friendly, professional and friendly. We spent a nice afternoon with him and two other girl groups. He explained well, without rush and gave us very useful tips. I recommend 100%.
Mohamed speaks perfect Spanish, is friendly and helpful. We were a large group and he came to find us at home, answering well everything we asked and accompanying us according to our needs. I recommend it
It was an unforgettable experience, full of culture, art, tradition and gastronomy. Mohamed was very involved in making our stay as pleasant as possible, recommending places, bars and accommodation. In addition, he would pick us up at our door and take us back to the same door (very important if they are not large groups). In short, I loved Tangier, but the company and ease of our guide, even more.
The best tour guide you can have to visit Tangier! 😎😍 muchas gracias amigo we will come back to see you!
