I can't recommend this highly enough. My wife and I toured with Youssef in May 2025. On the day of our tour, my stomach was not doing great but we really still wanted to visit. He was incredibly patient and kind and adjusted the tour to allow us to still see Tangier but not overdo it for me. We really loved the tea and it helped settle my stomach. Where do I start with this review... Yousef met us at the ferry dock and introduced himself. We started on foot for the tour. He taught us so much about the culture and history of the city. We walked around the streets, the markets, he took us into the food markets so we could see where everyone buys their foods. We learned the farmers come down from the mountain twice a week to sell their food.. foods like nuts, fruits, fresh meats, breads, sweets, and so much more. I bought some authentic Morrocan leather shoes that are genuine leather and made right in town and are so comfortable. Yousef invited us into his home where we got to meet his wife and have authentic Morrocan tea and cookies. Yousef and Hind were incredibly kind and so welcoming. We continued the tour by car to see the remainder of the city to see where multiple other countries Kings have their homes. We then continued to the beach to ride camels overlooking the beach. This was an incredible experience and definitely the highlight of our 17 day vacation in Spain. If you don’t book this experience, then you are doing yourself a disservice. Yousseff was amazing! Everything about this tour was seamless and personal. From arranging the tour prior to our departure to our arrival at the port all the details were taken care of! Tangier is a beautiful city with so many different things to see and experience. For our group the highlights were riding the camels on the beach, meeting Yousseff’s family and visiting his home, and a delicious traditional meal!

Youssef was a wonderful guide. He showed us some personal favorite spots of his, and invited us into his home for tea and treats. Youssef was an outstanding guide in every way—prompt, knowledgeable about history and culture, friendly, and hospitable and his English was impeccable. He also knows just about everyone in Tangier! Youssef was an excellent tour guide and took us everywhere we could have wanted to go in Tangier. My wife and I booked a tour with Yousef, on the recommendation of the Rick Steves guidebooks. We are happy with this choice and recommend it to others. It was a great way to see Tangier, especially because we had very limited time. We did this tour as a day trip from Tarifa Spain. Youssef sent us the reservation number for our ferry tickets, and we picked the tickets up at the ferry terminal with no problem. The ferry ride over and back was fine. The ferry is fairly typical, with comfortable seats. It has a snack bar, of course. We cleared Morocco passport control and customs on the ferry. When we got off the ferry, Youssef was right there with a sign, so it was easy to find him. We really enjoyed the driving tour of Tangier City, where we viewed the parks and hills of Tangier city. Several beautiful parks, with good views of the sea. We enjoyed the Cave of Hercules and seeing where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. Youssef offered to take us to a camel ride, but we declined, having done those before. Next was the highlight of the tour; Youssef took us to his house and his wife served us tea and sweets. We really enjoyed getting to make new friends. Youssef dropped us off at a restaurant for lunch. We ordered from the menu, and when we were done, the restaurant called Youssef, and he picked us up. Youssef then gave us a tour of the old city and Kasbah. We aren’t overly interested in shopping, so we didn’t purchase any souvenirs or other items, but it was fun to see the city. As other reviews have mentioned, Youssef was a very good host. He made us feel quite comfortable. He seems to know almost everyone in town, constantly greeting people and shaking hands throughout our tour.

We had a wonderful day exploring Tangier with Youssef as our guide. He picked us up at the ferry station with a car and driver. We began by exploring the new city by car, learning about its development and transition. It was so different than we expected. We drove to the top of the city where the wealthy live before descending down to the Atlantic coast. An unexpected surprise was being able to ride dromedaries on the beach! Then we had another special experience- having tea and sweet treats at Youssef’s home, learning more about the culture and learning that he is a computer author in Tangier. As we walked through the old town, we continually met friends of Youssef. It made us feel more like locals than tourists. We learned and encountered so much on our day in Tangier with Youssef. We highly recommend him as your guide to maximize your experience in Tangier!!!

He was incredible! A true local. Had so much knowledge to give us. By the end he was like family. Everyone greeted him while walking around the beautiful streets of old town. We nicknamed him the Mayor of Tangier.

We had an amazing tour of Tangier with Youssef. He told us there 1.2 million people that live there and I’m pretty sure he said hello to 999,999 of them along our walk. The tour was filled with all the history and sightseeing you would expect, but then also had a lot of personal touches that really gave us a sense of what it is like to live there. We also were lucky to be there on a Sunday which was a “market” day so the casbah was rocking. The lunch spot he took us too was fantastic and reasonably priced. We learned to haggle for rugs. A great day and experience.

Yusuf is no ordinary tourist guide. He has deep knowledge of the city, has written books and articles about. While walking around you can see that he knows a lot.of people on the streets, he can take you to non-tourist spots and even to his home for a tea. Take a slow walk a have conversation with him. You will not see all the tourist sites but you will see the real city.

Youssef is a marvelous guide. He is a native of Tangier and lives and works in the immediate area of the medina. He is very articulate and knowledgeable about the history and the life in Tangier and guided us effortlessly through the medina, carefully explaining everything that we saw and experienced. Later, we were able to meet his family as his wife gives cooking classes in their home. The entire experience was wonderful and a true education.

We came to Tangier for a day trip from Casablanca. We had reserved the car/ driver and a guide through someone we knew. Mr. Youssef was waiting at the train station with our name Sign. He welcomed us with warm greetings. The car was Mercedes Van, very comfortable and clean. Our driver was Mr. Ismael, very courteous and kind. Mr. Youssef is a very knowledgeable and a kind person. We found out that Youssef is also an author and has written few novels and published the books. Youssef took us to all parts of Tangier for the entire day, to the outskirts of Tangier. We saw where Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean meet, saw us the King’s palace, Hercules caves, Kasbah, Medina etc. He invited us to his home for tea and sweets. His wife, Ms. Hind was very gracious and welcoming. We learned firsthand how a Moroccan family lives, their traditions and cultures. Overall it was indeed a great experience and we really loved it. I strongly recommend Youssef as an expert, knowledgeable tour guide of Tangier as he is borne here m, and lives here, so very familiar with the history of the city. Our tour guide Youssef was very nice and friendly and very knowledgeable with the stories he told us about Tangier, we visited a lot of intersting places very enjoyable which has given us some great memories for my birthday, we had a nice relaxing cup of the in his café where the view is spectacular. We intend to come back and stay longer and get Youssef show us more interesting places. I highly recommend him for a tour of Tangier.

Yosef Chebaa is an excellent private tour guide, we recommend him highly. He is prompt, courteous, friendly, knowledgable, engaging, entertaining. The highlight of our tour was spending a short time with him in his home, meeting his lovely wife and savoring her special brew of tea and a platter of her delicious homemade desserts. Yosef provided us with a reading list of authors/books for learning more about Tangier. We were completely cared for our entire visit. We are both so glad he was our guide. Youssef was amazing! It was my first time to Tangier and within the day walking around I really felt immersed in the culture and history of this beautiful city. I went to have tea at him and his wife’s house which was SUCH a unique experience! Amazing time 10/10 book him!

My wife and I were a little apprehensive going to Tangiers but once we met Yousef at the ferry terminal he put our minds at ease. Both Yousef and our driver were awesome. My wife was not feeling well and Yousef took extra special care of her. While she was pretty sick Yousef was unbelievably patient and accommodating and we ended up seeing all we came to see in Tangiers. Walking thru old town you would have thought Yousef was the mayor and he took us thru many nooks and crannies of Tangier to share the real spirit of the city. We left with many great photos and an appreciation of Morroco and Islam culture and history (as well as a new friend in Yousef) . It was more than we expected and we hope to go back to experience more. Cannot recommend this tour enough especially with Yousef as your guide. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!!

Youssef was such an amazing guide to have in Tangier! He took us to all the major touristic sights as well as walked us through the Medina and provided an incredible amount of information along our way. He was able to walk us around and point out interesting facts about Tangier and its incredible history and made us feel like we were part of his family. Walking around Tangier it is very obvious that he is a pillar in the community and knows practically every single person around town, it was very heartwarming to see how many people stopped to say hi and tell us how great he is (we had already figured that out but the locals were shouting praises about him). I cannot thank him enough for his time and how generous he was to spend so much time with us and answering any and all questions we had. Youssef was a terrific guide and really helped us to become enchanted with his city! He met us at the ferry and had a professional driver drive us around Tangier for the first half of the tour, then we walked through the old city together. We had a delicious lunch in his home and met his wonderful wife and sons. We happened to tour on a Sunday, which was market day, and walked through the farmers’ market tasting local cheese, melon, and a whole variety of olives. Youssef is an author and had many recommendations for books about Tangier. A wonderful experience!
