If you’re looking for an authentic Moroccan experience that goes beyond the typical tourist tour, book with Hamza! Our guide was basically the mayor of Tangier! He knew everyone, everywhere we went, and made us feel so incredibly welcomed. It truly felt like we were exploring the city with a local friend rather than following a tour guide. The first half of our experience was a fantastic driving tour, taking in the sights and learning about the area. The second half was my favorite, winding through the streets of Tangier, stopping at local shops, bustling food and fish markets, and exploring everything from ceramics and rugs to jewelry. It was such an authentic glimpse into everyday life in Morocco. And just when we thought the experience couldn’t get any better, Hamza literally pulled a table and chairs out of nowhere, set them up right in the street, and treated us to delicious Moroccan sweets and one last glass of traditional mint tea before we headed back to our cruise ship. It was such a simple, thoughtful gesture, but one of those moments we’ll remember forever. The entire experience was warm, welcoming, personal, and completely different from your typical organized excursion. 10/10, without hesitation! If you’re visiting Tangier, especially on a cruise stop, I cannot recommend a personal tour with Hamza enough. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip!

Itinerary
The Marshan Palace is a palace of the King of Morocco in the Marshan neighborhood of Tangier. Stop to explore the spectacular arhitecture and art.
The Perdicaris Park, also known as the Rmilat Forest and formerly as Villa Aidonia or Place of the Nightingales, is a public park covering 70 hectares in the Rmilat neighborhood of Tangier, Morocco. It is located on the northern slopes of the Jebel Kebir hill facing the Strait of Gibraltar, between the Cape Spartel reserve to its west and the Jebel Kebir Royal Palace to its east. It is named after Greek-American notable Ion Hanford Perdicaris, who created it in the 1870s and was kidnapped there in the mid-1904 Perdicaris Incident. Now this park is popular for picnics, exercising & panoramic sea views from its hilly hiking trails.
Cape Spartel is a promontory in Morocco about 1,000 feet above sea level at the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar, 12 km west of Tangier. It is the northwesternmost point of the African continent.
The Caves of Hercules is an archaeological cave complex. Caves of Hercules. The cave has two openings, one to the sea and one to land. The sea opening is known as "The Map of Africa." It is believed that the Phoenicians created the sea opening, which is in the shape of Africa when looked at from the sea.
Optional camel ride on the beach
The Jardin de la Mendoubia is one of the many green spaces in the city of Tangier. It is located not far from Place du 9 Avril 1947.
The Kasbah of Tangier is situated in the upper part of the medina. In other words, to visit the kasbah you must make your way to the medina, a small universe bursting with life, and then navigate its steep streets to the oldest part. The former citadel dates from around the tenth century and, although it has gradually been altered, it still retains enough of its original characteristics to transport you back in time.
It was the first American public property abroad and is the only U.S. National Historic Landmark in a foreign country. The legation was established on May 17, 1821 following decades of cordial relations between the U.S. and Morocco; Sultan Mohammed ben Abdallah had issued a proclamation recognizing U.S. independence from Great Britain on December 20, 1777, making his nation the first to do so.
The synagogue was built by Moshe Nahon, a banker and active member of the Tangier Jewish community.
Stroll through the maze of narrow streets and colorful markets in medina and immerse yourself in the local way of life. Stop in one of the panoramic terraces overlooking the old city of Tangier, relax and have a cup of mit tea. For lunch try the best Moroccan cuisine. Interested in Moroccan craftmanship? A piece of art, nice rug or just a small souvenir? Your guide will recommend you the best quality of places and help you to get great deals.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Tour Guide in Morocco! We had the most wonderful experience with our tour guide in Morocco! He was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. He made sure we got to see everything we wanted to see and took us to a wonderful place for lunch that we really enjoyed. One of my favorite memories was when he stopped so we could take a picture with a camel—and somehow I ended up riding it! 🐪😂 What a fun and unforgettable experience! He was friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and made our entire day so enjoyable. We laughed, explored, took lots of pictures, and made memories we’ll never forget. If you’re visiting Morocco, I highly recommend him. Definitely a 5-star experience! 🇲🇦❤️
This was our first time to Africa, and more specifically, Tangier Morocco. We were really looking forward to an amazing way to see what Tangier had to offer. We did some research and we were glad to have found Selected Tours Tangier. We felt that it was important for us to get a private tour for the four of us on our cruise. Shortly after we booked our excursion, we were contacted by Hamza through What’s App. He wanted to make sure of where the pickup would be and what the hours at shore on our cruise. He assured us that they would make sure we did not miss our ship. A couple of weeks later, we were contacted by Mohmead. He wanted to make sure that his company fully understood what our requirements were for this excursion. He gave us some tips and suggestions and was very good about not pushing the agenda. He told us it was our private tour and they wanted to make sure we get to enjoy what we were looking for. He also wanted to make sure we understood that some of the sites we may want to explore may have additional admission fees. We totally understood this and expected this for the price of the tour. We were very happy with the price of the tour especially the amount of time dedicated to us. When our day at shore arrived, we received messages and calls from Hamza making sure we knew where to meet them. It was a short walk to the Mosque where they had a private van pick us up to start our tour. Hamza’s English was very good and he made sure we were going to be taking care of. We had the good fortune to explore some of the best things to see in Tangier. This included viewing some of their parks, historic monuments, a couple of Medina markets, the American Legation Museum and most important for us was arriving at the beach to ride camels. We had more than enough time on the camels going up and down the beach. The camel handlers did such a great job making sure we were safe and got enough pictures of our time on the camels. They took some amazing pictures using our camera and made sure we got all the shots we needed. One of the other requirements we had was to eat lunch at a restaurant where locals eat. Hamza found the right place. He and his family eat there and we were so lucky to be able to have our lunch there. Amazing food and great service. Everywhere we went, Hamza was known by everyone. He was the rock star of Tangier. Even the undercover tourist police went out of their way to come over and great him. By the way, it was nice to see that the city of Tangier really wants to make sure the tourists have a great trouble free stay in this amazing city. After a long day, we were dropped off at the cruise ship with plenty of time before the deadline. Thanks again Hamza for an amazing trip through your beautiful city. I am sorry that we forgot the name of the driver for the van. He did an amazing job . We will make sure we connect with you again when we come back. Rich and Robin from Our MidLife Adventures
Reva the tour guide raised in the Kasba knew everyone. Very informative about the history, people, and locals. He brought us to an authentic restaurant ( food was outstanding ) and helped save time at places we’re not wasn’t needed.
Rida was a wonderful engaging guide. Very knowledgeable listing facts and figures while also adding personal anecdotes and insider tips. He showed our group some of the classic and iconic sights as well as some less traveled spots gaining access to some sites and locations we wouldn’t have unless he was our guide. We had a two mad team guiding us. They worked well together and made sure everyone was well taken care of and all questions were answered. Fun and interesting for all.
Hamza took us around Tangier and we had a marvelous time. He shared the history and highlights of a wonderful city. Loved the camel ride along the beach!
My friends and I had the pleasure of meeting Reda Bounab during our visit to Tangier while on board the Seabourn Ovation. From start to finish, Reda was the perfect guide: professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about Moroccan history, culture, and Tangier itself. He took us to all the city’s highlights, answered every single question we had, and truly understood what our group needed to make the experience special. You can tell he loves what he does. If you’re looking for an outstanding guide in Tangier, I highly recommend Reda Bounab. Thank you for an unforgettable day – 5 stars well deserved!
had an amazing experince, We love the tour and would go again. Best tour we have been too!
I had the best day ever!! I couldn’t have dreamed of a better experience in beautiful Tangier. Reda is an incredible tour guide. He is so kind, accommodating, and knowledgeable! You can really feel the love he has for his city and his people. This was such a special experience and I will be cherishing it forever! I can’t wait to come back.
Our guide was Mohammed, we couldn’t ask for a better tour guide. He knew everyone in the market, Hercules cave, the kasbah, and everyone other place we went too. He is very patient with kids and knowledgeable. Generally the right places to shop, the lunch is an Authentic Moroccan food dish which we loved, there are options for kids too. At the end of the tour you get treats for refreshments at the end of the market but very good.
First half of the tour the driver to the sights was terrific. He was informative, helpful and friendly. Second half, the walking through the Kasbah was disappointing and off putting. We are slow walkers and the young man was several yards ahead of us almost the whole time , on his phone or talking to a friend that was with him part of the time. Worse, we were steered to only two or three shops that this tour company owns or has some affiliation with. And the guide was upset when I did not want to sit through an argan oil spiel that I had absolutely no interest in. Very disappointed to not have a chance to poke around the many little stalls that we walked past in the long walk to the guide’s chosen places.
I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for the incredible tour Reda, Exploring the ancient streets of old Mdina was like stepping back in time, and the barbares market was a treasure trove of sights and sounds. But the highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the desert adventure, where I got to see camels also moroccain thé and the dishes.
I was met with a guy name Rida who was very friendly communicative and open man. He had good english at least we understood each other very well. He made me sure to introduce the best experience in the city and did show every point of interest in Tangier day and night. It was all save and fun. Thank you!
The tours were great, Reda is very acknowledged about the city’s life and its architecture. He’s also very generous and polite. Great experience, strongly recommended both for tours within the city and outside.
Best guide, very acknowledged about the city life and its architecture. Strongly recommended. Also very generous and polite.
I had a fantastic experience with Reida, my tour guide, and his partner, whose name I unfortunately cannot remember. I arrived on a small Seabourn cruise ship that had scheduled a private group tour with Reida. It quickly became evident that he not only had great energy and enthusiasm for showing us his city, but he also went out of his way to ensure everyone felt comfortable. When the tour concluded, it naturally evolved into a private tour for my girlfriend and me, as we decided to extend the use of his services. I would highly recommend Reida, his partner, and their company for anything related to Morocco.
Our tour for the day was overall amazing. Hamza, our lead tour guide made the day comfortable, enjoyable, and very fun! We learned a lot of history of Morocco and Tangier itself. We had lunch included which was amazing (crepes and tea), went to the local market, and rode camels by the ocean. Overall a great day spent with friends, also made a new one in Hamza. Our ferry schedule also changed the morning of our trip, and Hamza was great enough to assist us back to the ferry port, which made us feel very safe and confident we would make the trip back. I would tell anyone to take this tour with Hamza!
An amazing experience visiting Tangiers and our tour guide Rida made sure we visited all the best spots and magical locations. Have recommend them to all my friends and looking forward to returning soon.
Rida is the best guide you could have. He will take care of you no matter what you want to do. He knows everyone and will make sure you have the best time
Nicest Tour guide ever will get you in touch with any one or get you anywhere you need to go. You should book this it is worth every penny went to the best breakfast lunch and dinner places.
If you’re looking to have an authentic view into Tanger, and all the beauty of beholds, Rida is the man to do it with. Throughout our trip, we were taken care of as if we were family from being picked up at the airport to having traditional couscous at the Airbnb. The hospitality was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before and I could only compare it to the warm welcome that you experienced in the south. Thank you so much Rida and Hakim for the amazing time I know I will be back.
We arrived in Tangier on a cruise, we contacted Hamza and it was the best thing we could do, he treated us with respect and a lot of education, he taught us everything!! Thanks Hamza, 100% recommended.
Amazing guide who was knowledgeable and personable. Trip was beautiful and we received a very authentic experience. Would definitely return.
Excellent and very informative tour, that was very well organised and really good fun! The friendly and educated tour guide really helped my experience, in such a beautiful picturesque and historic city! I will be taking the tour again on my next visit, and i can't wait to return! If you want to see every key part of the city, and learn from it's rich cultural history, then I 100% recommend Selected Tours Tangier 👌
This was honestly the best tour and guide ever. When you go somewhere you want to see the real side of things. Rida made us discover the best places, the best food... im attempting to recreate the recipe tomorrow... soooo good. Rida was kind enought to not only help a kid on his bike go up an alley, he also pushed someone in a wheelchair up a long hill. He is knowledgeable, kind and a very nice human being. This is honestly the best tour guide ever. It felt like going around the kasbah with a friend... 1000% recommend...OH and he even gave me and my husband new names.... Fatima and Ahmed... thanks for the great day and memories Rida. Next time we come in your area we will be in touch again...
We got off from the cruship at 10:00. We were able to find the guide two minutes from the door of the port. We got to know him with a paper in which our names were on his hands. The young Reda was friendly and his treatment. I was amazing. We visited the other side of the Tangier Sea overlooking the Mediterranean and Atlantic. We visited Perdicaris Park, As well as we visited Cap Sparkle, then the cave of Hercules, and then we headed directly to the restaurant, and then we toured the old city to find out the shops here. Moroccans welcome foreign visitors a lot. They are a nice people. I recommend visiting the guide Reda. He knows the secrets and history of the city.
Well run, comprehensive, Mohammed was pleasure to be with. Tailored the trip to our interests. A wonderful day . Would highly recommend. Very comfortable MB van.
Our guide took us on a tour of the Kasbah and the next day he took us to the Blue City. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. I would definitely use this service again. We also arranged a car transfer from the port in Algeciras to Malaga which went very well. Excellent service. Thank you!
We had an excellent 3 day tour to Tangier accompanied by the hand of Master Rida, He is an expertise, perfectly knows the city, its culture and its history. And above all he works with his hearth, as if you knew him from ever becomes to be a friend, super sweet and enjoyable tour leader. Excellent experience taking the ferry from Tarifa ! Marruecos, its places and its people, the culinary experience and many many more …! Advisable !
Best guide . Show you thé best shops and market too. Guide help to show you alll thé instamagrable hot spot to take shooting photos of nature and sea
I had the benefit of being shown around Tangier by Rida - I felt like I was family from the moment I met him. Rida is not only smart and personable, he is also knowledgeable and very entertaining. He helped me navigate the different parts of the city, all while I learned more about the culture and experienced the people, places, food, and historical sites in a way that was unforgettable. Tangier is a unique and welcoming intersection in terms of history, art, and religion alike and Rida was able to illustrate the beauty of each facet of the city. Tangier ended up being one of my favorite cities of all my travels, and I credit the city itself as much as I credit Rida’s hospitality and warmth. I felt safe and taken care of throughout and would definitely recommend to solo travelers and groups alike.
Great Tour Guides, Beautiful People, Amazing Enlightening Experience. Thank you! 😊 Moroccan People are so close to our Puerto Rican People! Wepa! ✊🏼🇵🇷 Love it! 😊 See you again soon Brother Rida!
Our guide Rida was amazing.. he was knowledgable, friendly, and fun! Thank you for showing us the magic of Tangier!
Really lovely tour guide, super knowledgeable, welcoming, friendly, generous, funny and a good leader. 10/10 reccomended this experience to anyone in Tangier! Made my experience in the city 10 times better.
Rida made our trip to Tangier so easy and fun. He brought us coffee and snacks to our apartment every day which really helped get us going and save us a trip out with our young child. He showed us all the spots we wanted to see and more, telling us interesting history and suggesting things we hadn’t thought of trying. He brought us to some truly amazing restaurants and beautiful shops. I also just put him in touch with my sister and was able to request specific activities and restaurants, so when she visited last week she could experience some of the same things we loved. He is very communicative, kind and funny. Highly recommend using Rida for a guide!
Best tour in Tangier. You shouldn't see the City without a knowledgeable local, and these guys don't disappoint. Especially if you're tight on time, they're the ones to hire (and they know the best restaurants, too!)
Quite honestly, the success of our trip to Tangier is all because of Reda. Not only did he give us an amazing tour, he was helpful in every way. Whatever we needed, he was able to help us source it. From restaurant suggestions to places to shop, Reda is a resourceful person to have in Tangier. The absolute best!
A first class experience the entire way. We arrived late and Rida met us at the ferry with the car and transported us to our home in the Kasbah. Kind, informative, well connected and received he was our guide for 3 Wonderful days in Tangier. The big sights as well as the hidden gems- we got to experience them all. The beautiful momentos we both bought and ones he gave to use are throughout our home and make us smile every time. If you're going to Tangier do yourself a kindness and book with Rida. You'll fall in love with Morocco through his eyes. ❤️
Reda, you've been an exceptional guide! Thanks to you, this experience was simply amazing and beautiful. Your energy, your passion, and your knowledge really made all the difference. Thank you for these unforgettable moments!
Very good guide, welcoming smiling and most importantly he knows very good places and the history of the city. I highly recommend it
I did a guided tour of Reda and it was certainly an unforgettable experience visiting places and everything is very nice, I would definitely repeat for the good treatment we have given
Thank you so much Reda 🇲🇦 for everything and making us visit Tanger 😍 you are the Best 💪🏽 this summer we are back to tanger, see you soon Reda🤲🏼
It's been an experience. Unforgettable and unique that we have never lived with a wonderful person who has taught us everything and always with good treatment
Me and my wife had a great experience on this private tour in Tangier. From the time we were met at the ferry terminal until we were dropped off again, everything felt well organized and professional. Our guide was incredibly nice and had so much knowledge of both the history of the city and the culture of Morocco. You could tell he was really passionate about showing off the best of Tangier. We got to stroll through the charming medina, explore the colorful souks and discover places we would never have found on our own. Lunch was one of the highlights of the day – we got to taste traditional Moroccan food in a cozy and authentic environment. The tastes were fantastic, and we felt really welcome everywhere. The best thing about it being a private tour was the flexibility. We could stay longer in places we liked and got an experience that really felt adapted to us. That the guide also spoke good English made it even easier and more pleasant to understand everything. I can warmly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get a personal and genuine experience of Tangier. It was our first time in Morocco, and we left with so many great memories! Thank you for an unforgettable day!
