About Activity
Travel from Tangier to the historic city of Tetouan, located at the foot of the Rif Mountains, approximately 1.5 hours away. Known as the "White Dove" of Morocco, Tetouan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its well-preserved medina and unique blend of Moroccan, Andalusian, and Spanish influences.
Begin your visit at the Bab Akla School of Traditional Arts and Crafts, where skilled artisans and apprentices preserve centuries-old techniques in pottery, woodwork, embroidery, leatherwork, and other traditional crafts. Continue with a guided walking tour through the whitewashed medina, exploring its narrow streets, lively souks, historic squares, mosques, fountains, and traditional architecture. Discover the Jewish Mellah and the former Spanish Quarter, reflecting the city's rich multicultural heritage and its history as the capital of the Spanish Protectorate of Morocco.
After the guided tour, enjoy free time in the modern city to explore at your own pace or purchase lunch at a local restaurant (not included). In the afternoon, relax on the return drive to Tangier.
