From Tangier: Day Trip To Chefchaouen And Akchour Waterfalls

A great day out. Youness was a very skilled, polite, and punctual driver. The Blue Village was beautiful, and the guide was informative and humorous. She also recommended a restaurant at the end of the tour, which served wonderful food. The waterfalls are lovely and the swim was a perfect end to the day. It was also great to see how Moroccon families enjoy their own nature. The mountains are spectacular.

Had an amazing full day trip! great driver and guides all around, with a lot of knowledge, answeared all questions, flexible and followed the groups needs and contributed with good vibes. Ackhour waterfalls was the perfect ending to a great day, and the hike ended with an amazing swim in the waterfall. Not much crowds, great recommendations, and good value for price. We were a group of 14 students, who all enjoyed themselves the whole day.

The description is very different from the experience. The itinerary makes it seem like we will hike Akchour waterfalls and see the Bridge of the God when neither of those things happen. It also makes it seem that we will visit the waterfalls first, then drive to Chefchaouen when it happened in reverse, which is why we couldn't hike to the Bridge of the Gods or the waterfalls. They said there wasn't enough time after we got there after Chefchaouen, which wouldn't have happened if they followed the itinierary THEY sent me. False advertising and not worth the price. The guides are nice and the vehicle is very nice as well, with good air conditioning and bottled water. That is the only plus.

Our trip to Chefchaouen was lovely. Our guide, Mohammed, was great! He explained everything well and waited for the entire group to be together before he spoke. He showed us many Instagram worthy places to have our photos taken. The town was unique and picturesque. It was hot that day. Luckily, we found a restaurant with air conditioning. Next, we went to Askour to see the waterfall. We walked alongside the river. Then we sat for a short while by the water before returning to the van. I recommend you bring a snack with you. We did have lunch at Chefchauoen, but this was a long day by the time we returned to our riad. The driver did stop along the way, where we could use the water closet and buy a snack. Nice experience.

If I could give them 6 stars I would. Abdel, our guide, was the best person we’ve ever met. He showed us many beautiful things, talked about the rich history of morocco and it’s people and went above and beyond what is to be considered normal in a tour. No question was too weird to get an answer. He even saved us from some scammers at the end! The local guides in Chefchauen and Akchour were just as friendly and amazing! Chefchauen was stunning to see, and it was really nice to learn about it’s rich history. Alchour was perfect after the hot day to refresh. All the guides helped us to see the local delicacies and get the right prices 😉 If you are on vacation in Tangier and you do not do this tour, you really are insulting yourself. It is a must see.

I had a very lovely day trip to chefchaouen with Xauen Tours. The driver Youssif picked me from my hotel together with other guests as well. We drove to chefchaouen with a stop in the way to a very nice view of lake. Chefchaouen is a magical town and we had a lovely tour in the city with the professional guide ( I am sorry I forgot his name) it is worth the drive then we went to Akchour falls which was very crowded but a nice refreshing place with waterfalls with the guide Zakaria. Over all it was an enjoyable tour. Chefchaouen is a must see place.

The trip was amazing. The driver Hicham was excellent and patient and connected us to excellent guides. The guides themselves were really good knowledgeable about the sites that we visited and knew what they were doing. Overall, this was a treat for us.

A wonderfull trip from Tangier to Chefchaouen and Akchour. The drivers Mehdi was very friendly and most of all an excellent driver. The guides also took us to the hotspots and made the trip extra fun. That's why 5 stars for the lovely experience.

I had a great time! Medi was a fantastic driver, picked everyone up from their respective hotels and made the trip fun, plus I traveled with a great group from all over the world. Our Chefchaouen guide Mohamed was excellent, very knowledgeable as he and his family are native to the area (even before it was the Blue City!) Would highly recommend this tour!

The day was exactly as described, with good communication from the team about pick up, lovely vibe on the drive and plenty of time in Chefchouen and the waterfalls. Nizar, our driver, was funny, attentive, and up for good chats, making sure our group was back in good time (as requested by some guests). Our tour guide around Chefchouen - Najib - had excellent knowledge about the town, with a light hearted engaging approach to the group. Both lovely people and could not recommend them more!!

Wonderful tour from start to finish! Youssef and Najib were kind, funny, and knowledgeable guides. I felt very comfortable and energized as a solo traveler. The waterfall hike and Chefchaouen were beautiful, and I loved Najib’s tour of the city - great balance between exploring time and the tour itself.

I recently took a day trip to Chefchaouen, and it was absolutely unforgettable! The town is even more stunning in real life than in pictures – the blue-washed streets, charming alleys, and breathtaking mountain views make it feel like a dream. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, giving us great insights into the history and culture of the town. We had time to explore the medina, enjoy some delicious local food, and even do a bit of shopping. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the magic of Morocco in just one day!

We loved the natural beauty of Akchour and the gorgeous city of Chefchouen. Our driver Nizar, was very professional and helpful. Our guide Nawfal was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They both made our trip very memorable. I highly recommend this tour.

We had a great time. We did both the waterfalls and the Blue city in 1 day. The weather was perfect in November, and the guides were very helpful. Everything was well organized. It was a long day, since the drive takes over 2.5hrs. But worth the trip. Our guide made sure we connected directly with a private car to do the waterfalls, since the larger van went directly to the Blue city. It was easy and well organized. He also spoke French, Spanish & English, for clear communicaiton.

Chefchaouen was very nice and the guide was kind. We did not get to go see the bigger waterfall and only stuck around the beginning area. All of the photos of Akchour that I saw in the reviews we did not get to visit. I wish they were a lot more clear about that in the description or we would have taken a different tour. I also wished that they prepared us better and let us know there would be no area to change into our swimsuits and that we should bring towels as there are none to rent, etc. The driving was also very crazy.

A very full day in Chefchaoen. Our driver Omar was very kind and helpful and takes great pictures, and our guide Mohamed was very knowledgeable and has a clear love for his city and the artisans within. We did skip the Akchour hike because it turns out we are old and tired, and the flexibility was very much appreciated!

Worth every penny. We were picked up at the hotel exactly as scheduled in the night before, the driver was great, informative, and we had a pause for coffee mid-way to Chefchaouen. Two different guides, one for Chef and another for Akchour, Mohamed, which was a neverending source of energy and good vibes. An amazing person, which only made the experience even better. Would repeat again tomorrow without thinking twice!

We had a magical day. A highlight of our holiday!! Very straightforward to organise. But above that, everyone we met was so very welcoming and kind. Hamza, who drove us and took us to the falls, made the day particularly enjoyable. Our guide around Chefchaouen was so lovely and had a great laugh with him too. Speaking very good English, Spanish and French was really helpful for us . We felt very welcomed and had a really fun time together, sad to go back home!

This was a nice tour. Really enjoyed Amir’s storytelling. He was sharing with us while half the car was asleep and we were driving home in the Rif mountains. The mountains are a beaut too, and while Akchour is mostly a dam, it still very much worths a visit due to the mountains. Chefchaouen is lovely too.

The trip to the waterfalls and the town of Chefchaouen in Morocco was filled with beautiful sights and moments, but in the end, it wasn’t worth the money I spent. The waterfalls were impressive, but the access was challenging. I expected something more authentic and impressive, considering the cost.

The 3 Yousef's were the best! My nephew and I had a fantastic time with the 3 guides (all named Yousef!) haha I cannot recommend this tour enough. There was a lot to do and see. Don't skip out on this tour and this tour company. They were Ace!

Very nice and comfortable trip. Driver (youssef) was the best. Also the guide at the waterfalls (sancho) very fun and whacky guy. He really knew the ins and outs of the place. Absolutely worth the money.

It was a full day of incredible experiences. First, The driver Yassine picked me up from the hotel and he explained me many things during the trip. Very kind and he helped me to take pictures. Then when we arrived to Chefchaouen, there was Abdelahe who guided during all the tour in Chefchaouen in spanish and french. He knew different details about history, religion, local activities, etc. And showed me where to buy some souvenirs. Finally, Fouad who guided me during the trip to Ackchord waterfalls, did an outstanding performance because he took care of all of us due to the risky areas of the trekking in the mountains. He also helped me with pictures and was very kind explaining information about the area. It was very exciting activity and I definitively recomnend to take this tour.

Great experience! The driver and the guide (Yassine and Fouad) were very friendly, available and funny. We had a very good time! During the morning we visited all Chefchaouen, we also had some time to shop and browse by ourselves. Then we went to the waterfalls. Be prepared to walk uphill on a mountain trail. It is not difficult, but it is better if you have the right shoes. Highly recommended!

An excellently planned road, a beautiful city and other landscapes. The drive was very comfortable and pleasant, I must especially praise the driver who gave us souvenirs. We just did this trip yesterday and had a great time. The guide was really on the ball with ensuring we traveled at a reasonable pace for the group. We saw everything and only stopped in shops we wanted to check out. The water at the waterfall is quite cold so the swim was shorter than I had initially planned. The city walking tour does have a fair amount of elevation change, but I would not consider it above a mild hike. Proper shoes versus sandals would be my call, but we did see folks in flip-flops. Guide and driver were exactly what you want with the driver being punctual and safety minded with the guide being friendly and incredibly knowledgeable and lives in the town.

Solo traveller. Booked this tour as part of a wider trip to Morocco. The whole booking process was smooth, I was given lots of clear information on pickup location, vehicle details and driver details over WhatsApp the day before. The driver was brilliant, very friendly, helpful, and spoke so many language! The guides were all great as well, knew the areas perfectly and took us to the best places for food. The highlight for me was the swim at Akchour. Cold, but very refreshing! Bring swimwear if you can.

The hot bread on the side of the road was delicious! Both speak very good english, french and also spanish. It was a great day trip! very good experience, and a wonderful place. unfortunately we didn't get to experience the waterfall. the guide thought it was dry and a lot of tourists, so we joined the rest of the group on another trip to Tatuan, which we slightly regret agreeing to. A little strange that we were not told about this when we ordered. A waterfall does not dry up in 24 hours.

The trip was great , going through gorgeous blue alleyways in Chefchaoun , enjoying the beautiful nature of Akchour. The transportation service was top quality and driver was so friendly and professional with good communication skills. My guide was excellent, explaining the history of the surrounding It was an awesome trip , I would definitely choose Xauen tour again !

We defiantly needed more time on this one. Hiking the trail that leads to the waterfalls then having a swim. By itself needs a full day. A wonderful experience. Also exploring the Blue City Chefchaouen, I’ve never seen such beauty before. I can’t describe it well, take the trip and try it for yourself. Remember to bring hiking / walking shoes.

Beautiful location and a fun time, but there wasn't much information about the locations, some vans were not air conditioned, and it felt as if we were shuffled to places purposely chosen for us to spend a lot of money. Guides were all nice but there wasn't clear communication to overhead operator. I was also never able to see the waterfalls since the proper time of the tour wasn't listed. Do not go if you are only going to Tangier for a day trip!

Chefchouaen and Akchour is so beautiful to go and see for yourselves. It's worth the trip, and it's all thanks to Xuan tour company. The driver and guides were so nice, polite and respectful. They made the trip even more special. Somehow I got sick because of all the turns in the mountains. The guides took such good care of me. The program they have gone perfectly, and we got to see everything we wanted. The pickup and drop off went smoothly. Take it from me. This is the tour you must pick. I hope to go on another tour next time. Thank you, Xuan tours.
